Ready For Fall With Talbots
I am a sweater gal from way back and that’s not changing anytime soon. With crisper temperatures and fall in full swing here, my travel wardrobe was beginning to let me down. Luckily, I can get ready for fall with Talbots because I discovered their beautiful store in Victoria and popped over to pick up a few cozy things.

I zeroed right in on this flyaway cardigan because it’s the perfect third piece! It adds polish to a simple top and pants, has pockets (which I love), and is soft and cozy without being too heavy for a mild fall day. This one comes in five colors, but this Chambray Heather spoke to my love of denim and all things blue. It has no closure which I prefer in long dusters because they can feel awkward to walk in when they’re closed.
This one swings beautifully and feels terrific! I’m wearing a regular M because I like my dusters as long as possible. It also comes in plus and the petite which is 2 1/2″ shorter.
I chose this classic cotton shirt because it’s a lightweight but looks flannel, which makes it another great layering piece. It’s perfect for when you want to wear fall clothes but your local temperatures won’t cooperate.
I love how the plaids line up across the front of this shirt. Those are the little details I’ve come to rely on with Talbots and their high-quality construction. Talbots has several pieces in this rich rosey shade including this suede-like bag which would be perfect with this outfit.
These pants are the stretch straight leg corduroy, curvy fit here, in Indigo Blue. They come in a lot of other gorgeous colors but I chose this classic navy because it will go with everything this fall. They’re a classic 5 pocket styling with plenty of stretch for comfort.
I usually opt for Talbots pants in regular size and then hem them so I can get the highest rise possible. However, I was happy to find the rise is perfect in these size 8 petite, plus they’re long enough to shrink a little bit…which I know they probably won’t.

Love the sweater, especially the length. I’m always dubious about a longer sweater on my 5′ 1″ height. Being over 70 with a thicker waist or lack thereof, short jackets don’t give comfort anymore.

I haven’t been to Talbots since Covid hit but I must make a pilgrimage soon. With the foggy days closing in here at the cottage I could use a longer cozy sweater.

I bought that sweater in the toasted coconut, a beautiful soft camel color. It’s the perfect weight for SoCal winters. The blue looks great on you! My local Talbots store in Palm Desert, California has been doing a spectacular job during the pandemic. As a Talbots customer for well over 35 years I rely on them for classic, well made clothing.
I’ve been to that Palm Desert store…it’s lovely! Talbots is doing an amazing job keeping everything sanitized and clean. I always feel comfortable shopping there.
I bought a pair of blue velvet(?) shoes the other day at Belk. In my size 5.5 and everything! They have a rack of one offs and poof, the they were. Can’t wait to wear them. It’s in the 80s all week here, (Lowcountry of SC) so maybe in November.
I may need to shop at Talbots for that sweater to go with them.

Love everything about this look the blue duster is gorgeous with the plaid. I will have to go and have a look at Talbots which is always a fun excursion.
We don’t have a Talbot’s here but I’ve ordered online and have always been happy. Very true to size for petite. I bought some blue suede boots a few years ago and I have worn them constantly! Looking for another pair.

Absolutely love Talbots clothes!! I have already purchased a look similar to today’s post. Their attention to detail is so high quality like plaids match!! Fabrics are also high quality so their clothing lasts!! If you have a Talbots’s charge card you frequently get notices of big discounts on current season clothes!!
Such a beautiful look on you. The blue boots are the perfect shade to tie it all together. It really makes a difference that the plaid lines up so perfectly across the front. Those colours are a plaid that I could actually see myself wearing with a top layer like that sweater. Glad to see it is not raining.

I’m heading to Talbots….love their clothes. Their stores are clean and sanitized. Doors are open periodically (left open) for air refresh I imagine. They are caring and service oriented…..overdue for a visit.
