5 Friday Favorites

Happy Friday ladies. We’ve packed up and are heading for the ferry to Victoria today. Our stay in Vancouver has been beyond amazing. It’s starting to feel like home here and I love it!

As always, you can click through the red highlighted links for item details and to shop.

Now’s the perfect time to be away from the extreme heat and smoke in California so I’m beyond grateful we got this break and could spend so much time with our daughter.

Today I thought I’d share 5 Friday favorites that are making me happy this week. As it happens, all 5 are in this photo.

Getting to spend time with this sweet little pug. Honeypug, yep, that’s her name, is my daughter’s little dog. She’s just turned 13 and is struggling with Pug Myelopathy which is a neurological deficit that develops in the spine and affects the use of their back legs. She’s a real trouper and we are all crazy about her. It’s very common in Pugs, seems to cause them no pain but is heartbreaking.

A crisp white shirt that comes out of the commercial dryer looking as fresh as it did going in. I’ve brought 3 with me and reach for one on more days than not. This one is by Talbots, and I also have two n0-iron white shirts from Chico’s in the suitcase.

This Rose Gold bracelet. I wandered into the Nsale looking for items on sale and fell for this, which was full price. #murphyslaw There’s just something about the shape of the links, the fact that it has push-clasp links so I can manually add or remove charms if I choose,Ā  and the rose gold color that I simply love.

I’ve never owned Rose Gold before and can’t imagine why. It’s easy for me to put on and take off which is critical because of the arthritis in my hands and wonky trigger fingers. I’ve justified it by deciding it is my 65th birthday present to myself…which is tomorrow.

This convertible shoulder/ crossbody/ wristlet bag which I have carried every day of this trip. It’s been a lifesaver. It has lots of interior pockets to keep me organized and this neutral bronze blends with everything I wear. It can also be worn as a wristlet which I have yet to bother with. I did shorten the strap, which is quick to do and thread it through my belt loops once for a long walk which was super handy.

There are so many things we can’t control, taking joy in the little things is important for our mental health.

What’s made you happy this week?

Thanks for reading ladies and remember to wear what makes you feel confident.

Dear Jennifer, Happy birthday! You look great! In 1972 I was German au-pair in Moscow and met a girl from Toronto, au-pair in Canadian family. We were young, had so mmuch fun together. I left Moscow 1973 started my job in Germany, got married, 3 children. She got married in Canada, 2 children -we always stayed in contact via mail.
There was no time, no money to meet. She moved to Victoria, we both have grandchildren, shared so many fotos and finally in 2019 my husband and I took a flight to Vancouver and after “a whole life” we were able to put our arms around us.
Never forget this moment in my life! So Victoria and my dear friend /her husband/always in my heart! Liebe GrĆ¼ĆŸe

  23. Happy Birthday, Jennifer! That bracelet looks like a very nice birthday gift to yourself. I often treat myself for special occasions too. It is a form of self-care, in my opinion. My favorite gifts are clothes & jewelry.

BTW, one of my granddaughters is in Vancouver, as we speak. She lives in the Toronto are and is having a lovely vacation with her boyfriend. Besides staying in Vancouver, they have gone biking in Whistler and are now camping somewhere nearby. She sends us photos every day, and the weather looks great out there! Enjoy!
