5 Ways to Wear Pink (or other colored) Pants
Happy Sunday ladies. I came home from last weeks dressing room diaries craving color. The stores were blooming in spring shades which are a great antidote for the dreary days of winter. Pink is especially popular because Valentines Day is coming. When a reader asked what shoes to wear with light colored pants, I gathered a few images to show 5 ways to wear pink pants.
Some of these images aren’t the sharpest but you’ll get the idea and will hopefully be inspired to put some new combinations together from your wardrobe.
This look combines a black jacket, handbag, sunglasses and ballet flats with pink pants and earrings. The sunglasses and flats bookend this outfit in black and the pink earrings tie into the pants. If it was colder I could wear this look with flat black booties.
Here I styled them with a crisp white tunic, taupe low heeled sandals, and a wicker handbag with a silver top. I wore the same pink earrings and silver bracelet to tie into the bag. This look would also work with taupe, gray or pale beige or metallic shoes. The light colored shoe doesn’t compete with the pale outfit colors.
Here I styled them with a black tank, blue denim jacket, and flat taupe sandals and wore pale green necklaces.
Here I styled them with a white tee, white denim jacket, white sneakers and a small silk scarf that has pink in the pattern. This would also work with a dressier jacket but the sneakers called for denim.
Here I’m wearing the pink pants with the same sandals as above. I topped them with a white knit tunic, a pink leopard print scarf and am carrying a pale pink shoulder bag.
These combos would work with most colored or patterned pants. They’re almost as versatile as black and a whole lot more fun.
Do you wear pink or colored pants?
Please share how you style them?
Thanks for reading and have a great day.
You look great in pink!! I am trying to warm up to it as it is so popular!
Thanks Cindy XX
You inspired me with the cute outfits including pink pants. Yesterday I found pink jeggings in my size at our Talbots outlet. I am ready to go through my closet and put together outfits!
It is a wonderful colour on you Jennifer. Pink is my favourite colour as well.
Super cute outfits.. I love those pink earrings! Where did you find them?
They are by Bauble Bar which I found at Nordstrom.
This is a wonderful color on you, Jennifer!
Pink just isn’t my color but it definitely is yours! I do like to wear colored jeans though. I am a person who loves color! You styled each outfit so well.
I love pink. And Lucy. Hi, sweet pup!
Great ideas! I just bought a pair in the J Crew sale. I’ll use these ideas for pairings. Xx
Obsessed with your outfits in pink. I have lots of pink, but no pants. I need to find some.
Love all the looks! That black and pink one was so sophisticated. Is the fabric weight of the pants more like denim or chinos? I have a lavender/pink pair I could use for these looks, but the fabric is fairly lightweight. Of course, I will have to wait any way. We are still shivering in Idaho. For the life of me, I cannot discern a purpose for January!
They are more like a heavy chino. January is a struggle most places. Stay warm Karen!
Looking great Jennifer! I have coral chinos that I really didn’t wear last summer. This has given me some great ideas! Love the pink leopard scarf. I have a hard time finding slim scarves that don’t overpower me. How about a post about that?
Maggie
Great idea for a post. I find most are pretty heavy too.
I went to the mall on Friday and pink was everywhere! These are great transition looks…thanks Jennifer!
I think I prefer them with the lighter shoe. Your series of pics pointed that fact out to me. Light pants = light shoe
My favourite one is the pink pants combined with the white shirt and straw bag. It looks so refreshing..so spring like.
I don’t have pink pants, but I do have pale aqua, bright red and spring green. I wear them in warmer weather and really like stripes with them – navy & white particularly, although I have a black and white stripe with red lettering that I love with the red.
The pink are great on you – and I love the pink leopard scarf!
Spring green sounds so fun!
These are some of my favorite outfits on you. You look great. Pink is not my color but because the pink is not near the face in some of the outfits I could wear it. Very pretty.
Thanks Beth.
Thanks for the styling tips, Jennifer! I can’t wear pastel tops but love colored denim and not always sure how to wear. I can wear black or white tops and I like how you tie everything together with earrings or scarf.
These ideas would work with cobalt, red, orange, green,or and colored pants. I’m
Hunting for cobalt myself and think I’ve just found a great one.
Earlier this week I was reading the “Dressing Room Diaries” and my husband passed by and saw the pink pants with the plaid shirt that you were wearing. He said, “I really like that outfit”! Thought you would like to hear that compliment. I think I need a pair of pink pants and a plaid shirt!
Thanks for sharing Cindy because I’m often told that husbands don’t like me ;)Let me know what you find.
You look great in the pale pink pants and co-ordinated with such pretty tops. I don’t usually wear a pale colour other than white but prefer to wear hot pink and/or cobalt as I feel naked in pale shades. Jill stylishatsixty x
I have had a pair of pink chinos for a couple of years and they are my favorite summer pants. I wear them with white tees or a crisp white shirt. Need a new pair this summer!
I need a new pair now too. I’m actually surprised at how often I wore these.
You look great in these pants and pairings! My nieces keep telling me to invest in light colored shoes, flats, kitten heels, to elongate my leg look in lighter colored skirts, capris, Bermuda shorts. I must look into this!
I’m looking for lighter everything these days Paulette. It just feels right after so much dark clothing.
Dark coloured pants but not light ones because I am pear shaped and heavier in my legs. Given your styling tips I might try a pair thouugh. Thanks!
You are right about the depth of pant because you’re larger on the bottom. You could try light pants as part of a column with a duster length cardigan or soft jacket over it, worn open to visually cover the sides of your figure.
This is a wonderful color on you, Jennifer! You look so pretty!
Thank you Beth!
Thanks Beth. I’ve just returned to wearing it after many many years.
