A Cheery Raincoat for Gloomy Days

A Cheery Raincoat for Gloomy Days

Thank you for being you. That may sound trite, but I want to let you know how much I appreciate you all. I have the best readers! Your comments and emails after my last video were beyond kind. They meant the world to me. Sometimes blogging feels like opening a vein and bleeding on a page. Other times it’s lightweight and fun. I guess that’s what makes this a lifestyle blog 🙂 I’m not running marathons this week, but I am walking, and making it to physical therapy. Which is helping a lot.

It finally started raining here. That means winter has arrived in Northern California. Sorry to all of you dealing with snow. I’m actually jealous of you. I love the snow. I miss the snow. I grew up in Toronto, then New York, where the snow could be epic and have always loved it.

I have the obligatory black trench coat, but it was too dark and gray out, to wear yesterday. So I opted for color and fun.

Wearing a light or bright colored raincoat is cheery on a gray day.

This is one of my favorite raincoats. Made by Creenstone,  it’s just “off” enough to be edgy. I love the soft green and interesting sleeve details. I found it years ago in a tiny boutique on Vancouver Island.

A Cheery Raincoat: My Refined Style

These snaps actually work. I have no idea why you’d want to un-snap them, but they’re a fun detail. I love the crinkle fabric too. It’s lightweight and perfect for traveling.

A Cheery Raincoat lifts your spirits on a gray day.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

xo Jennifer

When I was going through my divorce; I bought a beautiful pink raincoat..felt like such a necessary extravagence. That was 10 years ago and it’s still dear to me because it’s cheerful on a rainy day and reminds me that I’m worth it.

This raincoat is mist definitely what I would call a refined style, it’s timeless and classic with a very unique twist. Those buttons are the best! Good to see you up!

Those snaps make the coat! Fun!

Love your raincoat, love the buttons – quite unique!
Happy New Year with lots of sun and rain in moderation 🙂

The sleeves are so cool on this coat…I love how the snaps look though I agree with you that I do not know why you would use them. You look great as always!

Thanks Pam! I did play around with the snaps, but they don’t do anything, but this.

    What a unique piece!

I’d send you some of our snow…you can take it all as far as I’m concerned. I much preferred the winter in Victoria when I lived there, snow every couple of years.

So happy to hear you are making some progress!

    bisous

Glad you are walking and making it to physical therapy!

A fun raincoat is so important! I have a red one and love wearing it (especially since we didn’t need one much in the last couple of years…).

Isn’t the rain wonderful, Jen? Finally!! This is a very stylish raincoat you have here. I love the details (and the crinkles-so easy for travel). I miss the snow, too. We had the cottage at Tahoe for years. I don’t miss driving in it or shoveling it–but I do miss the pure peacefulness of a snowy day.
    Fun post!

Tahoe is getting lots of snow this year. You must miss the cottage. Your last post was the perfect “sunny escape”! I want to just live there.
So fab to talk to you today!!

I have a Creenstone coat as well, much loved although I haven’t taken it out of the closet for a winter or two. . . it’s a bit dramatic, honestly. I may well have bought it at the same boutique as you did yours — A to Zebra? Long lamented, sadly. . . .
Enjoy the rain — sounds as if it’s tending to the torrential in places there, but you clearly need it.

Yes A to Zebra! Good guess. I find Creenstone styles highly creative and fun. I’d love to see yours!

    Hi Jennifer,

I’ve meant to comment on your last post…sorry that you have been laid up recently but what a positive attitude you have maintained through your medical issues of late. Glad to see that you are out and about again. Cute raincoat, I’m so happy I can wear my trench coats again after sitting in the closet for the last 2 years! I’m just loving the weather this Winter…California really needs this rain and a lot more of it. Just not all at once!

I’m just loving this rain too. Our winter is a welcome relief! I agree it could be spread out a bit.

I think one of my favorite things is a rainy day. A day where you can just slow down and enjoy the coziness of your home. I’m impressed that you got out there and did a photo. Love the snaps on your raincoat too! So glad to be co-hosting My Refined Style with you!!

Love that we’ve come back to rain, and I’m hoping for more, its a relief after all that dryness.
you look fab in that mac, I am stopping myself from buying another trench, just love them so much and the weight is perfect for the bay area.
    HAPPY NEW YEAR, JENNIFER!!

What a cool raincoat. Never saw that color or the snaps. Of course you look beautiful in it. Happy Rain Dance!

Hi Jennifer, it’s the first time I’ve visited your blog, but thanks for the link up party. I love your raincoat and agree it’s just that little bit different. No snow here on the islands either, but lots of rain meaning a raincoat is essential. Will take a bit if time to read through your profile. Thanks again!

Fantastic coat. Very sharp. I have a Burberry traveller that is light and looks chic. Makes me wish for rain.
