A Refresh for My Complexion

Happy Tuesday ladies. I know I’m not alone with this but the older I get, the more lines and spots I get on my face. It’s one of the privileges of getting older. These may seem inevitable, but what bothers me most, is how often my complexion looks dull and could benefit from a refresh to brighten it up.

When Exuviance invited me to partner with them and take on their 6-week, Performance Peel AP25 challenge, I decided I was game,  so this post is sponsored by Exuviance.

Exuviance was created by the scientists who discovered glycolic acid, so I feel very confident trying it. This peel is made with 25% Glycolic, Mandelic, and Polyhydroxy Acids and is formulated to boost radiance, improve skin texture, pore size, diminish fine lines and provide a healthy glow. Bring it on!

Here’s how it works-

  1. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser.
  2. Wipe a Step 1 Activator Pad over your entire face, avoiding eye area, lips, and any sensitive spots.
  3. Wait ten minutes.
  4. Wipe a Step 2 Neutralizer Pad over entire face as before, then rinse with plenty of water.
  5. Apply a moisturizer, and you’re done.

It’s so easy peasy and simple to use. It can be done up to twice weekly, which I plan to do.

Here’s a little video of me doing my first peel 🙂

For six weeks, I’ll be doing this simple two-step peel and will share my results with you. I’m on week three and already see less congestion in my pores which makes my complexion look much clearer.

Exuviance has provided a special bonus for you to join me.

Simply click this link and enter the code JENNIFER when you purchase the peel and receive a Free Get Glowing Facial Collection, an additional FREE gift, and FREE shipping. This offer is open to and ships to residents of the USA.

Have you tried a glycolic peel to brighten your complexion?

Thanks for reading and have a great day.

Thank you to Exuviance for partnering on this post. I was compensated and all opinions are my own.

Yes, several, but now I’m hooked on Drunk Elephant’s products, particularly Sukari Baby Facial followed up with Marula Oil. I only need to do it 3 times a month, it is that potent & I’ve been using Retin A for 5 years !

    1. I do love Drunk Elephant products! I use quite a few of them myself.

  2. Love that you made a video!!!

  3. I’ve not tried a peel because years ago a friend, who is a respected nutritionist and researcher in all things pertaining to health and beauty, advised me against it. According to her, peels and scrubs remove a needed layer of protection on the skin, and leave the skin more vulnerable to contaminants and sun. Thus more damage. She has never done the peels and her skin is very lovely at age 75+
I do want to get more life into my face and complexion. Maybe massage or facial exercises to stimulate blood flow and muscle tone.

    1. Penelope,

Perhaps the peels have improved, I am 77, light/med complexion and it worked great. However, you need to stay out of the sun for 5 days and liberally apply sunscreen. I am ready to try again but I would think about the apply at home product.

    2. I know some women have naturally beautiful skin that ages beautifully. I’m not one of them so after many years of sun damage, I need extra help.

  4. Last October I had my first salon facial peel and a week later went on a cruise. I was very pleased with the results and I received many compliments from total strangers. I will look into Exuviance to see how it compares.

    1. Peels are a pretty amazing way to refresh our complexions. Which one did you get?

  5. Jennifer, I’m curious what your feedback is regarding your experience with using the rose quartz facial roller? I’ve recently started using one and it sure feels good. I’m noticing it does reduce under eye puffiness. I haven’t used glycolic peels yet.

    1. It does seem to reduce puffiness and it just feels so good! I use mine a few times a week and find it very relaxing.

Thanks for this…..just ordered. Your skin looks amazing without makeup. You clearly take very good care of your skin.

    1. Thank you, Karin. I do try to take very good care of my skin.

  7. Thanks for this post Jennifer – I hope you do an update after you finish to see if you think it makes enough of a difference to continue it. It does look easy enough!

    1. I will share after the six weeks. I love what I see so far.

  8. you look very interesting without make up.

    1. It’s a compliment, honestly.

      1. I was struck at how very pretty you are naturally, Jennifer.

  9. Could you do a post on what you think about the ten item wardrobe? Also what you consider a basic wardrobe and what is reasonable annual budget for clothing. I think this really changes when you retire, and it can be difficult to figure it out!

Will have to look for some products when I am in the States next month. Always cheaper outside Canada, eh?

    1. Except for pharmaceuticals! Canada is much more affordable for many of them.

  11. Would love to hear about sunscreens since although peels do wonders, they make my skin more sensitive to the sun.

  12. Yes, I’ve tried glycolic peels in the past and the results were excellent . I followed your link to purchase, but it doesn’t accept Canadian addresses! The drop down menus says to enter a state or province, but no provinces were listed and you can’t enter manually. Too bad as it looked like a good offer.

Have you tried Riversol? They are Canadian and have a similar product. They give you a 15 day free sample pack.

      1. My pharmacy recommended I try Riversol. With a 15 day free trial packet, what do I have to lose? The lady at the beauty counter was quite excited about this new line.

      2. I haven’t tried that one. Thanks for the suggestion Lisa.

    2. I wasn’t aware of that and I’m sorry they don’t mail to Canada. I have updated my post,Yvonne.
