Walking on the Wild Side

It’s easy to think that paying a lot for your clothes will guarantee you look chic and fashionable, but it’s simply not true. When you wear clothes that flatter your shape, accentuate your best features, and work for your lifestyle, you can walk out the door feeling confident that you look your best. And ladies, confidence is the goal because if you don’t feel good about how you look, it doesn’t matter how expensive your clothes are.Zebra Sweater and resin hoops from Walmart on Jennifer Connolly with red lipstick

Feeling stylish and well put together is available at all price points, so I am happy to partner with Walmart once again to bring you a fall outfit that is on-trend and very wearable. Walmart has upped their fashion game this year with great basics for the whole family plus trendy items that are fun to add to your look. They even offer free two-day shipping on orders over $35! That’s hard to beat.

Trends can be popular one week and gone the next, so I never recommend spending a lot on them. If a trend lasts long enough to become a fashion direction, then it’s safe to invest more dollars in them, but only if you feel great wearing them!Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life wearing zebra sweater with black leggings

There’s nothing comfier than pull-on jeans unless they’re jeggings. These stretchy black jeggings (similar) have classic five-pocket styling, so they look like jeans but feel like leggings. The black is currently sold out, but they’re available in 7 other colors, including a black plaid.

This soft Zebra Print Sweater (similar, plus size) is totally on-trend this fall. It’s a fun look to try in this classic black and white, or if your coloring is warmer, it’s also available in a Camel and brown stripe. The back is slightly longer, so it covers most of the backside, without being as long as a tunic.

A pop of red adds pizzazz to any outfit. If red isn’t flattering near your face, try adding it in a shoe or bag. This Top Handle Crossbody (Red Crossbody bag from Walmart on A Well Styled Life

Lady (top handle) bags are a big trend for fall but not always practical for running errands throughout your busy day. This bag has a detachable strap so you can wear it handsfree during the day and unhook the strap for dressier occasions or when you don’t want it against your top.

A necklace wouldn’t work over this sweater, so I popped into my local Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life wearing black and white casual look

  1. Walmart has really stepped up the fashion and you wear their pieces well, Jennifer. A great way to participate in a trend.

  2. I love this outfit on you Jennifer. Very chic! Re Walmart, I did pop into one of ours shortly after a previous post of yours where you featured their clothes however our line here in Canada is just NOT near as nice but in the past I have had very good results shopping in the one about fourty-five minutes from where I live that’s located in the U.S., so it didn’t surprise me. In fact, it was often my go-to store for toys when my grandchildren were young as again their selection was better. -Brenda-
    P.S.: Re Connie’s comment; ditto!

Proof positive that we can find cute clothes & accessories even at our favorite household items & discount stores! Love it! xo !!

  4. Love the outfit, Jennifer. I must admit, I hadn’t seen Walmart as offering such stylish items! I also just wanted to mention how lovely your hair looks in these photos.

    1. Thank you Cynthia! I think the best offerings are online because the selection is so much larger. It was s good hair day for me:))

  5. I remember buying a suit at Nordstrom’s and finding the perfect blouse at Walmart! I usually start my outfit with shoes that are appropriate for what I’m doing and then sorting out what to wear. Sometimes I’m too lazy to switch my bag, so that can influence my choices too. I will wear something from any place if it works and I like it, but I never wear shoes that aren’t stylish or comfortable. I save money elsewhere but I never skimp on shoes!

    1. I love how you do this Connie! I do similar and my shoes must be comfy too.

  6. LOVE the whole look! Zebra sweater is da bomb.

  7. You have opened my eyes to Walmart’s possibilities. Thx.

  8. I have been diagnosed with a vulvar condition, which means soft jeans or pants are all I can wear, plus leggings. I love dresses and skirts luckily! I miss our local K mart esp. the Jacklyn Smith line. The sweater is so cute! I will be visiting my local Wally world to see what they offer!

    1. You will be pleasantly surprised but I do find a much better selection online and they will ship fo a local store at no cost.
