Block Heel Shoes for Spring

Block Heel Shoes for Spring

I think following too many fashion trends can age a woman and help her look like a fashion victim, fast! But this spring I’m making an exception for the block heel. It suddenly looks modern to me and it’s comfortable!

The block heel for spring is a comfortable, modern shape

This Franco Sarto heel is the perfect height for comfort!

Remember this shoe

Clothes are not the only things woman can have altered for fit and comfort.I had altered by my cobbler? It’s also a block heel  and very comfortable.

#HelloI'mFabulous from Chico's

I’ve had this leopard belt for many years. Leopard is always in style so I never get rid of my leopard accessories.

These new block heels offer support and stability that my aging feet need. All of a sudden they look modern to me. I remember when my Granny wore this heel! What’s old is new again, always.

The new block heel is a comfortable trend for Spring/Summer 2016

I was thrilled to meet with Chico’s representatives and get this fun T-shirt at the blog conference last month. Their #HelloI’mFabulous campaign celebrates women. Which I love! I paired it with their Girlfriend Jean for a casual, suburban outfit. I was heading to the dentist then on for lunch with a girlfriend. I’m dressed to feel confidently casual.

Block Hells for Spring

Feeling confident is at the top of my priority list but being comfortable is also a must.

It took a while for them to grow on me but I love them now!

I’m a fan of the block heel too. Steadier than a stiletto but with a bit of lift. I bought a pair of sandals last season with that heel and I love them.

They’re so much more comfortable that narrow heels too!!

I’m with you—the block heel is wonderfully functional—but what I think makes it modern is much of the details—like the ankle straps, fringe & cut outs that I see on some. There are still some block heels that I would definitely consider “granny style”—and I hope to never be wearing those (I know…I’m a shoe snob)!

Perfect shoes for Tango dancing. But I like the coat…what brand is it?

    I find them very unfeminine!

For me they feel feminine because they enable me to wear a higher heel than a flat. But of course, style choices are all personal.

I found it at a small boutique in Sweden last summer. Sorry, it’s not available here.

I’m seeing some of these in Portugal this week. Stilettos are not seen because of the cobblestone sidewalks. I’m likin’ these but think the sole is too thin for my foot. Maybe.

Look for them with a small platform or cushioned sole.
