Casual Easy Care Summer Looks From Nordstrom Rack
I love a crisp striped shirt any time of year. But when the weather heats up, the very last thing I want to do is use an iron. I’ve got two easy care summer looks from Nordstrom Rack today that are big on style and easy on your wallet. Boyfriend Jeans
These boyfriend jeans are an easy look for summer. These have a slim leg and relaxed vibe that’s easy to wear. Although they’re slightly cropped and cuffed, I folded the cuff up one extra time to get the right length. I love the nice dark rinse and straight leg. They have just enough elastaine to be comfy and not bag out. I’ve tried several pairs of Hudson jeans and have been very impressed with the fit and quality.
Easy Care No-iron Shirt
I paired them with a great, no-iron shirt by Casa Cabana. Some no-iron shirts are semi-crisp…this one is very crisp and lovely. It comes in six gorgeous colors, in sizes XS-XXL. I love how beautifully the stripes line up and the seams are neatly sewn..
Jute Wrap Wedges
I paired them with these fun Franco Sarto wedges. The jute wrap detail on the wedge is so perfect for summer and they’re surpisingly easy to walk in because the platform means the heel isn’t that high. They come in three colors in sizes 5-11. The ankle strap closes with velcro making them easy to take on or off.
Rafia Tote
I’ve had my eye on this tote bag for a few weeks. It’s unfortunately sold out in this color, but available in a smaller size here. My size is still available in black here, pink here, and rainbow stripe here which is really fun for summer. It’s nice and roomy and I love that it’s a soft raffia with a long enough strap to go over my shoulder.
Here’s another crisp, striped no-iron shirt. This one has a slightly narrower stripe in the same great fabric. It comes in four colors, sizes 0-16W. I tied the bottom and popped my collar for a sporty look. I love that the stripe on the cuffs are horizontal.
Easy Care Summer Shorts
These are a bit loose on me so I think they run true to size. Their 88% cotton, 10% elastomultiester, 2% LycraĀ® spandex blend means they are super stretchy and I should have sized down. They have an unfinished hem, and again I have rolled them up a couple of times to fit my height. Yes, these shorts are distressed… but they feel quite modern to me. To be honest, I don’t wear a lot of shorts, but my daughter keeps telling me I should.
Memory Foam Wedges
I’m pairing them with these Donald Pliner suede wedges. They have a memory foam footbed which makes them very comfy to walk in. I would say they run a bit wide and feel very stable to walk in. They also come in black with a cork wedge which is very cute. This is a great outfit for a day at the farmers market, my grandson’s baseball game (with a big hat), or maybe a backyard BBQ.

Just bought 2 BR striped shirts last week and a pair of flare jeans — very classy similar look to your outfits. If it’s cool enough for jeans, I’ll wear a tank under the shirts. Otherwise, I’ll pair with shorts or lightweight pants. Today was chino weather by the ocean: I saw more women out to lunch who must have gotten the ‘wear a Breton top’ memo – LOL.
I need a new breton top. I just love them.
I have a short torso so button downs even tied at the waist donāt seem to work on my body shape. I love the look on others. Any suggestions as to how I can make it work? Also were the Franco Sarto shoes comfortable for a full shopping day?
I never wear wedges for a full day of shopping but they were comfy for all day normal wear. I consider shopping pretty hard on my feet.

Love a crisp shirt! And although I enjoy ironing there’s nothing better than a non-iron shirt. And the wrap wedges are really cute. But I have a question: when you tie a shirt, what does it look like in the back? I can never get it to work for me. I think you’ve shown us before how to do it properly, but I need a reminder lesson.
I fold the shirt under to waist height in the back before I tie it. You can also tuck the center back in, fold under the sides and tie the front.
I just bought your navy striped no iron shirt! Because of my bust size I had to buy the large. I hope it will not be too big every where else. I hate returning things and replacing them is usually not an option as the next size down is all gone. This was a great price and looks so good on you! You look great in shorts! Donāt shy away from them in the hot summer months. I live in them for about five months of the summer here. Mine are all Bermuda length and actually some touch my knees. I have jeans in light weight and a navy sateen cotton pair that both will work with my new shirt, probably open over a tank for a.c. This is the casual style of my southern Colorado rural town! Climate change has made it much hotter and dryer here.
I don’t mind if shirts are big and loose, it’s better than having them pull anywhere. Shorts are growing on me š
Hi, Jennifer. I love those striped shirts! Here’s a question for you. Which do you prefer – the wide striped shirt or the thin striped shirt? I was thinking that the thinner stripes might make me look thinner. What do you think?
I find wider stripes more casual than thinner ones. As I look at these photo’s I see what you mean but I think it should come down to personal preference because the difference will be minimal.

Yes, Iām a huge fan of a no iron shirt! But in full disclosure, several of my shirts get a quick press on the collar and the front tabs. I no longer wear jean shorts. My first love for summer pants are a crop length travel pant. The fabric is much like a dry fit, stays cool and wrinkle free. I also have several pair of lighter weight jean crops.
My shirt collection offers a variety of options. My favorite look is to wear open with a tank. The front tie trick with these shirts does not work for me either. But they are so versatile, a great addition to my wardrobe!
Good morning Jennifer, I totally agree with you about the no iron linen shirt. I have 2 no iron and 2 that need to be ironed.
