Casual Looks For Fall
Fall is my favorite time of year for many reasons, not the least of which is the clothes! The cooler temps mean I can add accessories that might otherwise be to warm to wear. Today I’m joining Cindy Hattersley and some of my favorite stylish ladies to share our fall fashion.
Since mine is on repeat ad nauseam because I’ve been living out of a suitcase for 7 weeks, I’m also going to share some outfits from last fall. My casual lifestyle means I’m usually in comfy pants or jeans with stretch, flat shoes or booties, a white shirt or sweater, and some accessories. I think of accessories as the magic sauce that gives my outfits interest.
If a scarf isn’t on my body, I usually have it tied on my bag. You never know when your hair will get trashed and needs covering up:)
How’s this for a fall look? Flannel shirt, cashmere scarf, and white jeans at the beach near Santa Barbara. I wear white jeans year-round, and always have.
The same flannel shirt with a velvet blazer because, why not? I don’t keep my clothes trapped in categories that limit what I can wear them with.

My bag of choice has changed this year from a handheld satchel to either a belt bag or a shoulder bag that I can wear as a crossbody. I’ve never been one to put my handbag on the floor, but now, I won’t even put it down in a shopping cart!
I discovered the ease of a cashmere poncho several years ago and never looked back! They’re cooler than a sweater plus they hide a multitude of sins.
Be sure to take a look at how these other ladies dress for fall. I’m always inspired by their stylish outfits.

Thanks for reading ladies and remember to wear what makes you feel fabulous and confident.
I am loving the idea 💡and some of them I think about putting together ❤
Thank you for showing all these great fall looks – so perfect for this time of year. I particularly love the grey poncho and the check blazers outfits. Enjoy your time on Vancouver Island!
I have a white shirt I haven’t worn because I’m saving it for…something? I guess I’m afraid I’ll spill coffee all over it. I need to adjust my thinking!
That blazer and white blouse looks so chic and pulled together on you. And the denim and lavender color combo is gorgeous. Great advice. Thanks so much for joining us!
Thanks for including me Mary Ann! I love all your looks.
Thank you for the combined fall perspective ladies. So much fun to look at mid week on the first day of October. Love your style Jennifer and I hope you and yours are doing well 🙂 PBS is showing Last Tango in Halifax series 5 and its a wondeful show, catch it if you can.
Happy October
You can’t go wrong with these styles, Jennifer! I’ve been thinking about getting another cashmere poncho in one of my Spring colors, now you’ve inspired me to start searching again…
Thanks Susan, your color confidence is so inspiring! You look amazing in all your looks.
Thank you for todays post. It was inspiring to me as we approach fall that we can step up our appearance with little things. You always inspire me. Thank you.
Happy October
Hello Jennifer! Love all your casual photos for fall. I especially like the demin/cashmere poncho. So chic on you.

Thanks so much!
You look fabulous in all the looks but you really rock the blazer and white shirt. I love that v neck cashmere poncho as well and you are so right about a scarf!!
Thanks Cindy. I think you look amazing in all your looks.
Now that you have been in Vancouver for a while, would you consider doing Canadian links for us. With the way things are right now, shopping from 🇺🇸 Isn’t feasible. 🇨🇦 Nordstrom’s, Talbots, old navy, the bay, rickis, reitmans, marks, etc would be wonderful.
I have asked for some technical support and will be trying to make you some for you:)
Oh good.
I have ordered from Nordstrom.
I love Talbots but it is fair way from my home & I haven’t tried on line orders from them.
You look awesome in all your posts today.
Your lovely white shirt just bumbs up your look another notch!
When I’m in Canada, I head straight for The Bay (well, right after a double double and some Timbits at Timmy’s!)
Can you give details about the blue leopard print blouse you are wearing in one of the pictures, please? I love the leopard print look but the usual colours don’t suit me.
Thanks.
I got that at the Banana Republic several years ago. I’m more flattering by cool-toned leopards too so always share fun ones when I find them.
