City Lips Healing Night Oil for Parched Lips

With a humidifier running next to my desk and on my bedside table 24/7, you wouldn’t expect me to struggle with parched lips, but I still do. I always apply some sort of balm or lip salve every night, but this time of year, it doesn’t seem to be able to keep them from flaking in the morning.

I’m careful about everything I apply to my skin because I know it gets absorbed into my system. When you’re talking about lips, it’s even more important because, chances are, I will be ingesting some of it! So when City Beauty reached out to have me try their newest lip treatment, I felt totally confident it would be safe.

CITY BEAUTY CITY LIPS NIGHT OIL

City Beauty is a brand I love to support because they make terrific products that are Leaping Bunny and PETA-certified cruelty-free. Since they source some of the best clean, research-based ingredients that don’t contain parabens, sulfates, phthalates, harsh fillers, or animal-tested ingredients, I said game on; please send me the City Lips Night Oil to try.

CITY LIPS NIGHT OIL

It’s made to nourish, exfoliate, and plump the look of lips overnight with ingredients like Meadowfoam Estolide, which is a seed oil derivative that binds to water to help retain moisture for a smoother look. It also has Hyaluronic acid spheres that are reported to expand and deliver deep hydration along with a plumping effect. It has a whole host of other ingredients, all formulated to hydrate and make lips feel more supple.

My bedtime routine seems to get more involved the older I get, but the very last thing I always do before turning out the light is to treat my lips. I’ve been using this City Lips Night Oil every night since they sent it, and I can report that it’s made a big improvement in my lips.

My lips aren’t flaking anymore, and that’s the only new addition I’ve made to my routine. My lips feel more hydrated in the morning, and that lasts throughout the day, even when I’m not wearing it…although I admit to applying it when I’m staying home during the day because it just feels so soothing.

City Beauty is generously offering my readers 15% off with the code AWELLSTYLEDLIFE so you can try this for yourself.

**The code is now working! Thanks for your patience.

Are dry lips a challenge for you this time of year?

Thanks for reading, ladies.

I have been using a Mary Kay thick water based pink productā€¦ donā€™t remember nameā€¦ for years since a MK sales party 48 years ago !
Love itā€¦use a dab every night on my lips. I squeeze some into a tiny container for travel. I try to remember to exfoliate lips too, so it works better. Your City Beauty product sounds like it does it all.šŸ’‹

  8. I too have been searching for safer products. One resource I use to check safety is EWG (Environmental Working Group) ewg.org , in particular their Skin Deep rating of various beauty products. Many times a company may be using safer ingredients in some of their products, but not the one I’m interested in. With beauty products it’s often a compromise, but if possible I’m going for something that rates well on EWG.

    1. Exactly, Kate. EWG is amazing! It has helped me tremendously on my quest for safer products, especially for lips.

    2. I use the INCI Decoder most often.

    3. Yes, great site and good info.

  9. This post is perfect timing for me. My husband and I walk everyday and and dry, chapped lips have been a real issue for us. This sounds like a great oil to try. I read that to exfoliate lips mix brown sugar and honey. I have not tried that however.

  18. Hi Jennifer.
Iā€™ve been on a journey for several years for clean/safe products. Might I suggest that you research a little deeper into ALL of the ingredients of a product before taking the companyā€™s word. I have been shockingly surprised by some of the companies out there that claim to be safe and clean. There are many dependable websites and apps that breakdown a productā€™s ingredients nowadays, so the task of finding new products has become so much easier.

    1. Thatā€™s wise advice. For example, many people find mineral oil clean, and others do not. Itā€™s a complicated issue.
