Clean Beauty Best of Beauty Awards

Happy Tuesday, ladies. I’ve long been a fan of the Allure Best of Beauty Awards. Not because I know much about their testing process, but because I really like a lot of the products they’ve given an award to. They announced the 2022 winners yesterday, and I zeroed right in on their clean beauty picks.

Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant Face Scrub Powder: $16-$64 / This sounds like a great and gentle face scrub. I’m not a fan of physical exfoliants, but this is a powder that turns into a milky liquid. It sloughs off dead cells without irritation while a blend of oat and coconut extracts leaves skin feeling soft and supple.
Biossance Squalane + Enzyme Sugar Body Scrub: $28 / I’ve used lots of Biossance products and love their formulations. I think this will be great for dry winter skin, and the crystals dissolve as soon as they hit the water, which prevents over-exfoliating.
Honest Beauty Fresh Flex Concealer: $21.99 / There’s nothing worse than a concealer that creases and the dry skin under my eyes is really prone to doing that. This concealer actually moves with your skin, so NO CREASING, and it comes in several skin tones.
Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation with SPF 25: $42 / This multi-tasking foundation not only looks great on your skin, but it also has SPF and is packed with skincare actives that can brighten skin and minimize pore size. I’ve been fascinated to try this foundation and love how many color options there are to match your skin tone.
Ilia Lip Wrap Reviving Balm: $24 / I love Ilia everything! This lip balm hydrates with hyaluronic acid and prickly pear oil, and the cooling ceramic tip helps to soothe dry lips. I slather my lips with one sort of balm or another every night, so this will be fun to try.
I’ve been reading glowing reviews of this Jones Road Miracle Balm $38 / It’s the new line created by legendary makeup artist Bobbi Brown after she sold the brand we know as Bobbi Brown.
Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Hydrator: $65 / This quick-absorbing serum rejuvenates dull skin, locks in moisture and leaves you with radiant skin. Bonus, it smells like strawberry pie . This line is very popular in spas, but I haven’t given it much of a try, so this might be a good place to start. My skin can’t seem to get enough hydration, and hyaluronic acid is a great one.
This Kora Organics Turmeric Brightening Mask $17/ sounds wonderful. I take Tumeric every day for inflammation so it. makes sense it might be soothing for the skin.
Clark’s Invisible Hero SPF 30: $75 / This sunscreen protects, moisturizes, plumps, hydrates, and minimizes pores-all in the silkiest sunscreen formula you’ve ever felt. I am always up to try a new sunscreen, and the description of this one sounds great.
Adwoa Blue Tansy Clarifying Gel Shampoo: $25 /This clarifying shampoo gets rid of oil, dirt, and product build-up and hydrates your scalp (with jojoba and blue tansy flower extracts) in the process. I love using Blue Tansy oil on my skin. This shampoo removes buildup helps promote shine, and nourishes the scalp.
This Josie Maran Intensive Daily Repair Body Butter $46/ and I am not the least bit surprised. I love everything I’ve tried from this brand. The oatmeal and argon oil would be so gentle on compromised skin.
Tower MakeWaves Lengthening + Curling Clean Mascara: $20 / This contains a castor oil-enriched formula that is easy on the eyes, washing off in seconds when you’re ready to remove it. The double-sided brush visibly lengthens, defines, and holds a curl for natural-looking lashes.

Have you noticed if any products you love have received the Allure Beauty Awards?

  1. Yes! My all-time favorite product is Maelove’s Glow Maker Vitamin C serum—a former Allure award-winner. I love this stuff! It’s done wonderful things to my complexion, on top of that it’s affordable. Maelove has a new product, Fade Away Brightening serum. It’s slowly obliterating the runaway freckle/age spot/sun damage thing on my cheek. It’s also affordable. 😊

    1. Good to know! I’ve used their Vit C as well, and it’s great.

  2. I have rosacea so it’s always a challenge to find products that won’t aggravate my skin. My diet also makes a huge difference but with more clean products like Ilia, I’m finding excellent results. A friend told me about the Yuka app that scans the bar code on beauty products & gives it a rating for ingredients…
Thank you for these recommendations & resources.

    1. I have rosacea too, so I need that app. Thanks, Julie. I ordered the Dermalocia milkfoliant and will report back. Stress and diet also effects mine.

  3. I discovered Ilia cream blush via your blog and it’s awesome! I will try more of their products for sure.

Dermalogica is one of my go to brands, and they recently sent me a sample of that exfoliant with an order. I haven’t tried it, but I will now! 🙂

    1. Good to know about Dermalogica. It’s a brand I haven’t tried and would like to learn more about. There are so many great brands I like to get personal recommendations.

  4. These products all sounded wonderful and it was fun to read about the possibilities of improvement they offer, until I read their prices. Ouch.
