Dressing Room Diaries- Fall Collection At Loft

If you’re new here, welcome! I’ve had some questions over the last week about where to find the items I am wearing. Below most images and/or in the text, you will see words highlighted like this. When you see this, these are links you can click that will take you to the item. If there are no links, it may be something I’ve owned forever.

Now on to dressing room diaries at Loft which is all 40% off today! DRD is when I go into a local store and try on the new things so you can see how they look on a woman over 25 who wears a size larger than zero. For reference, I am 5’4″ and weigh 145+ pounds. I have broad shoulders and straight hips with a long torso and arms. The lighting is dim so the photos are grainy but you’ll get the idea.

After all the sweater dresses I’ve been eyeing over the last few weeks, I was excited to see this sweater skirt! It’s super soft and would be cozy to wear…whether you go out or not! It has a straight relaxed fit and is machine washable. I’m wearing a small but could go up to a medium for ease so it runs TTS (true to size).

Loft has quite a few of these sweater ponchos which are so comfy! Talk about forgiving with a pair of leggings. It has dolman, 3/4 length sleeves and is available in regular or petite. This is a medium in regular…I could have also worn the petite. These leggings are a pull-on style and super stretchy. They’re selling out fast at my local store so I could only get my hands on this regular XS which is too tight for me. They are available in regular, petite, tall, and plus, XXS-XXL.

Same poncho sweater in a regular small. I don’t find too much difference in the fit so you can safely size down. The stretch cords are a petite, 30, and fit just the way I like so they run TTS. They’re available in tons of colors in modern(straight) or curvy fit, regular, petite, and tall. This color is Spicy Clove.

The Owl sweater has a metallic border knit around the neck and on the sleeve cuff. It’s a very soft machine washable knit in soft ivory. I’m wearing a small which is too snug, so I would likely size up to a large for some extra space. I think it runs a bit tiny. The faux-suede jeans are a pale camel color. They’re available in modern and curvy fit, petite or regular. I’m wearing a 6 regular which fits so it runs TTS. I might also have been able to wear the petite but they weren’t available at my store.

This star sweater and sweat pants are by Lou & Grey which is known for its soft fabrics. They are butter soft and sooo cozy. The stars have a metallic thread running through which makes them festive and fun for the season. I’m wearing a medium which fits perfectly. The pants are a signature pant for Lou & Grey, available in 11 colors, petite, regular, and plus. I am wearing a regular medium in the most luscious shade of teal call Deep Malachite. Honestly, the petite would be shorter than I like.

This sweatshirt is so buttery soft, I could live in it! It’s available in regular, petite, and plus in zillions of colors. I am wearing a medium in regular in the same Deep Malachite.Ā  The sleeves would be too short for me in petite…remember, I have long arms.

A Well Styled Life Curated Favorites on Sale at Loft

I do dressing room diaries for you to see the garments, not for me to shop. However, this above outfit came home with me for two reasons. The color is one of my best, and they are so buttery soft, I can’t wait to wear them at home on days when cozy is required.

Are you a sweats type of gal?

  1. This response isn’t related to the clothes you tried on although I liked everything. It’s about your hair. I have been debating about cutting my thin, fine hair a bit shorter but was concerned about being able to pull it back when I want it out of my face. I also live and work on a ranch and there are days I don’t want to mess with styling my hair. My appointment is tomorrow and seeing your hair pulled back in these photos has convinced me to go for it! I hope I get as nice a “look” as you have.

    1. Please let me know how it turns out, Pam. Thin hair is so hard to style.

  2. I like the items you already own (grey sweater, statement necklace) best. There, saved you some money!

  3. Particularly love the skirt plus sweat shirt and pants on you. Hope you invested in all three pieces and appreciating you modeling them.
P.S.: Wish our Cdn. exchange rate was better and shipping/custom processing was cheaper ….ā˜ŗ.

      1. Yes the exchange rate is brutal as you well know . I want to buy from Jjill so badly but am holding off.
I ordered from Nordstroms in Calgary and that worked out well. Terrific service!
Love my morning read of your blog…m

These all look so warm and comfy…I really like the one with the owl…so cute!

  5. Paulette Levy says:

Love the sweats set! Hearing that itā€™s soft and comfy is another plus! Thanks fir sharing. Abd I live that color- malachite! Itā€™s just gorgeous and you look so good in most of these clothes that youā€™re modeling. I do think some of the tops are thinner in quality/texture than some of us would like. Thus us why trying clothes on and avoiding just online buying is so important. Fir be anyway!

  6. The Lou & Grey outfit is a winner! Looks so nice on you. That would be a fab Thanksgiving outfit.

  7. Julie Traxler says:

That star sweater and teal sweats…. knockout cute. You are right…. perfect color!

  8. Rhonda Ragain says:

Love the color of the Lou and Grey Sweats! You look amazing in those and they would have come home with me too! During these stressful times, nothing is better than comfy, buttery and beautiful casual wear! Thank you for showing us these great Loft selections!

  9. I love the dark malachite sweats, but unfortunately it doesnā€™t appear to be available for those of us who need either a petite or a plus. Colors far more limited. So sad!

    1. They were almost sold out of that color in the store too. I expect they will restock. They do come in tons of other amazing colors too

  10. Wei love the owl sweater but alas it looks thin and see through like so many tops these days. I could wear a cami I suppose but I long for the days when clothes didn’t need a tank or cami.
Those sweats are great. I need to check out the colors though since I’ve decided to lighten my whole wardrobe. Camel and ivory or light brown just appeals to me now more than black or navy. Thanks Jennifer for trying these on for us.

    1. The owl sweater was way too small on me so it might not be be see through in the correct size. Iā€™ve always been a big fan of ivory, even more this fall.

  11. My fav. look on you is the star sweater and malachite pants. The outfit that you took home is also a great colour for you, and I like the knit skirt, but wonder how to wear it to stay warm when indoors. Outdoors I would wear tall boots, but it looks so cosy, I would have to figure out the lounging around the house look.

    1. Iā€™d wear the skirt with thick opaque tights and matching slippers:)

  12. When the color, comfort and fit all come together, itā€™s a keeper! Love that look on you! Iā€™m thinking that so many of us would also love that too.
As much as I enjoy looking at the more ā€œspecial occasion ā€œ type clothing pieces, I just donā€™t plan to add any to my closet this year.
I need to focus on my overall health in hopes for a much more active year in 2021. These winter months present a huge challenge both mentally and physically.
Best wishes to all for a safe and warm Thanksgiving.

    1. Great point, Jan. This winter will tear us all. Maybe we should start a book club šŸ™‚

  13. Francesca B. says:

Good Morning Jennifer! Love Lou and Grey;my niece bought me some sweatpants and a comfy top from them last Christmas and I practically live in them. So easy to wash and super soft. Love this malachite color such a rich color. Going to put them on my wish list šŸ™‚ Thanks for DRD.

    1. Iā€™m excited to have my first set! They come in so many other gorgeous colors too

  14. Good morning, buttery soft is a great feeling. Will be checking out the sweatshirts at the Loft. Love the DRD.
