Casual Pink and Memorable
Happy Thursday ladies. Our house hunting continues and it’s wearing me out. In the meantime, I’ve added a new sport to my life. I’m lousy at it but hope to improve. The good news is it’s a team sport so others can help hold up my end.
Mr. AWSL joined the local Italian Bocce Club last year, but I didn’t. I didn’t want to bother if we weren’t planning to stay. Since we’ve decided to look for houses here, I figured it was time to get involved so I begin to feel like a member of the community.
This is what I wore to play last week. It was cold and windy but sunny. I grabbed this scarf at the last minute and really needed it. I’ve worn this scarf at least 6 times in the last two weeks because the colors make me happy and I adore polka dots.
Yesterday was my second game and I wore this. A totally different outfit with the same scarf. I walked onto the court and a woman I didn’t know said, “there you are, I recognized that great scarf”.Ā If this scarf had been gray, black or beige, I doubt it would have been noticed. Colors and patterns are memorable which may be why my first instinct is to usually reach for neutrals.
It’s hard to tell, but I’m wearing an entirely pink outfit. The jeans appear white because they’re next to such a strong pink. The shoes are rose blush, the jeans are very pale pink, the handbag is fuschia, the hoodie is pomegranate and the scarf is a bright magenta, pink and white plaid with white polka dots.
Perhaps it’s the slow arrival of spring weather but I find myself attracted to more color than ever before, whether it’s memorable or not.
Are you more attracted to neutrals for wearability or colors for the life it can give an outfit?
Thanks for reading and have a great day.
Love that scarf. I also love polka dots. Did you share with us what area of the country you are house hunting in? At one point it seemed to be Palm Springs. Just curious ?
We are near Sacramento area. Palm Springs still appeals to us but our only grandson is here.
Pink is really your color! Every shade! And I think bocce will grow on you and it was a good move to join to build community.
House hunting in our California market is really tough. We lost multiple offers in the low inventory of Santa Rosa area and then came the Tubbs fire and it got even harder. It’s an exhausting roller coaster. And then, suddenly, it’s your turn and you get lucky. Take heart! Your day will come!
Youāve had a rough time. Describing it as a roller coaster is so accurate. We lost another one today.
I’m seeing pin everywhere! This is a great shade, so bright and happy. I guess Im going to have to get on the pink train in some fashion – maybe a scarf to start! Love this one…off to Talbots!
Good luck with your house hunt , that’s a huge endeavor.
Thanks Cyndi
I get the house hunting fatigue! We listed our house last week and sold in 4 days and missed out on the townhouse we wanted, so now we are house hunting.
I love the pink on you, and especially love the polka dot scarf. I am trying to add more colour to keep my spirits up.
Thatās rough. Hang in there and good luck.
What is wrong with a clothing item being āmemorableā if it looks this great on you? Isnāt it better to look fun and creative twice instead of ho-hum two times? Even the younger British Royals re-wear their signature pieces!
Nothing wrong with it in my opinion. Iād rather be remembered for looking great than boring. ?
Bright pink is one of my favorite colors! A few years ago, I found a Chico’s jacket in that shade in a consignment shop, and it has been a wardrobe standby ever since. It has a silver zipper and hardware, so it looks great with silver earrings and bangles, and dresses up or down. Goes great with black or with jeans, with a matching tee and a multicolor scarf with shots of silver. At last it’s time to dig it out from the recesses of my closet!
Sounds great. Yes itās time!
Instead of Lady In Red, we will call you Lady In Pink. A new song in the making! Truthfully, you look sensational in these pinks…cheery and springlike!
Good luck with Bocce! It is fun, and the few times I have played I really liked the game!
Lots of luck with the house hunting……
Thanks so much my friend. Youāre a sweetheart.
What a great Spring look! I recently bought a cardigan in a shade similar to your hoodie, and it never occurred to me to pair it with my pale pink jeans. I might need that scarf to finish off my outfit. Thanks for the inspiration as I shop primarily from my closet. Have fun with bocce; if nothing else, itās a way to get outside and socialize!
Iām enjoying the socializing part
I love color in the Spring after a long winter I am in need of it. Color makes me happy. I just recently bought a pair of bright Coral jean capris. I am not usually drawn to the Orange family but it really spoke to me. I can’t wait for the weather to warm enough for me to wear them.
I tried on coral today too!
That scarf is a winner! You look nice in the pink/white combo.
Pink and white is fun and luckily I donāt feel like a candy cane in it.
Love these joyful pinks!! And I really love that you are getting involved with the community! Hope you make some new dear friends…..you go girl…play those sports!
Thanks Pam!
Love the pink! You look so cute! I may have to buy that scarf,
Thanks Linda, I canāt believe how often I reach for it this spring. Happy clothes for the win.
Your outfit with the polka dot scarf is so cute and looks great on you! Iām going to look for the scarf to add to my accessories, too. Bocci ball sounds fun.?
Thanks Karen. The scarf is marked down now too?
It may be our endless winter in the Midwest, but I too am searching out color. I have been wearing a cobalt blue utility jacket, bright scarves and a red raincoat. It’s dark enough outside in the rain without my wearing all black. ha!
Love the pinks and envying your sunshine.
Exactly! Gloomy weather calls for bright or light colors for me too. I adore cobalt. I just bought some jeans that color.
I, too, have been craving color in my neutral wardrobe, and I bought a blouse in this color. Your beautiful pictures make me glad I did!
Itās such a fun color. Looks great with black too.
Those pinks you have chosen are great together. They would be overpowering if they were all the colour of your jacket. Just can’t believe the pants are pink; they look so white here! I love scarves. BTW, I lived in Little Italy North in Toronto and remember my neighbours rolling their lawns for the bocci balls. Good memories!
It would totally overwhelm me to wear an entire outfit in bright pink but touches of it are fun. Bocce is a blast!
The pinks are so happy!
Love everything about this outfit! Does the hoodie run true to size? Are you wearing a small or medium?
Iām wearing a medium but could easily wear a small. I think it runs a bit big.
