Instagram Blogging

Instagram Blogging

I’m loving the speed of posting and great images on Instagram these days. It’s almost like mini-blogging. Less words, no spell check and addicting. People’s lives as seen through their cell phones. Mine anyway.

Webopedia describes a selfie as-

A slang term used to describe a photo that is taken of oneself for the purpose of uploading it to social networking sites and image sharing websites, such as Facebook, Instagram or Imgur.

To take a selfie, the right or left arm is extended with the camera held backwards. The selfie shows the person’s arm is shown extended in front holding the camera or smartphone device.

OK, so what is Imgur? Have you heard of it and I’ve been under a rock?

I’ve been told my blog is all over the place. I think the exact comment was, “I never know what you’ll come out with next”. I took it as a compliment because I consider myself to have well rounded interests and be an equal opportunity opinionator..yes, it’s not a real word, but it’s my blog and I say it makes sense.

If it strikes my fancy, down it goes. Rather than start multiple blogs… again…I’m just making this one “eclectic”. Isn’t that what a lifestyle blog is all about?

In looking at my Instagram photos, the same thing is happening there.
I guess it just goes to show the real me.

Hi Jennifer !! I am so happy that you found me on instagram, because it helped me find you. You are a Canadian too !!! Canadian bloggers are a rare, awesome breed xx

I have loved your stories of Vancouver island, your daughter, the jam making, the gorgeous scarf, the beautiful Grandbaby… all of it.

Many hugs from the other side of Canada (almost). We are in Ontario.

    Much love,

Back atcha Doll. I’m from a small suburb of Toronto, then moved to NY, Boston, San Francisco then Vancouver Island and now back to San Francisco. Canadian bloggers are some of the very best!!
      Very much love,

Jennifer, Just reading all your posts. Love your blog. I have also had the same comment given to me about my blog. It confirmed my worst suspicion that I am as scattered as I thought. That said, I love the blogs that are like that. Blogs that are always the same subjects bore me.
You are diverse and that’s a compliment! Love your Instagrams too. I agree, keeping up with it all takes away from life! xxKim

I love that picture of you – beautiful! I love the variety and is what makes life so interesting. I had to giggle at your comment about making another blog (again) and your quote. I can totally relate! 😉 Like you, I will be sticking with my one blog and let Instagram be the more personal side of my life without going into great detail.

    Oh you silver screen goddess!
I think that the best blogs are “are over the place” I get so bored by the by rote ones out there.

As a person of a limited attention span, I Love the variety! I have to get on Instagram!

Oh my, Jennifer, you look absolutely lovely. What made you think you were cross-eyed? Not a bit of it. Anyway, I love an all-over-the-place blog. Mine is definitely one of those. If you like what I write, great! If not, stay tuned!

I’ll be in touch by e-mail shortly. Big kisses to your new grandchild.

    Hugs, M-T

Thank you for your visit, Jennifer, and your encouraging words. It is my blog, isn’t it? teehee
Funny thing is that I always say that to my blogging friends but forget to remind myself of it sometimes.
Had not thought of using my cell phone to blog because my posts were so elaborate before. Great tip.
    Do what you love!!

Look at you, you adorable thing! If there’s one thing I hate it’s seeing myself when I’m facetiming with my kids – are all those wrinkles and chins really there? I love your blog and enjoy women who are all over the place – varied interests. Love the quote at the end too – sounds like my M.O.

My daughter swears the FaceTime screen distorts my image. Why, I wonder does she look stunning and I don’t! Thanks Barb.

OH! As a language teacher, I find it fascinating how quickly the English language is changing as well as adding new words to French (what I teach) and other languages. Technology has changed our lives and the way we speak and communicate. LOVELY! And thank you so much for coming by to visit. Anita

    Love this photo of YOU!
Blogs much more interesting if they are “all over the place!”So, am I.
What does my trip have to do with selling antiques!ZERO ZIP………..but I post away any way!

I had thought I’d be able to join the Instagram fun when I got my iPad mini, but apparently it’s restricted to the iPhone-owning crowd. ;-(
You know what I think about eclecticism — I’m quite happy to see other “all over the place” blogs! I think yours is unified by your personality — there’s definitely a consistency in your taste, your approach to the various topics you cover.

  15. October 29, 2013 / 5:14 pm

Great selfie, Jennifer. I rarely take selfies but I’m on Instagram as well. It’s lots of fun! I like that your blog is eclectic! Great stuff. BTW, I’ve never heard of Imgur…I’ll be checking it out.

  16. October 29, 2013 / 4:44 pm

I started when Instagram was new and then got overwhelmed adding it to blogging, but you may have just convinced me to give it another go! Thanks!

There is so much social media, it hardly leaves time for life.

  17. October 29, 2013 / 4:27 pm

I occasionally take selfies when I’m drunk and wrapped around a bottle of vodka, but I need to make sure my fur is in tip-top condition for those – which is why they’re so rare. I like your eye make-up!

  18. October 29, 2013 / 4:18 pm

Sharon Santoni did a post this week inviting readers to do selfies and email them to her…I think it is nice to see the face of the person whose blog that you read. It gives more depth somehow to the validity of the writing….but that’s just my opinion.

  19. October 29, 2013 / 3:29 pm

IMGUR is a website that shares images. You can upload yours, download one of theirs. Not sure if I could do close up selfies…I would need to make sure my chins are covered.

    • October 29, 2013 / 5:08 pm

I’ll have a look at it. Do you like it? And I only see one, cute chin on you:-)
