I’m happy to introduce a new styling service for ladies who’d like a little extra help getting dressed. I often receive emails and comments from women who wish they could take me shopping with them. While I would love to do that, time and distance make it challenging, so I’ve developed an alternative. Now you can get personalized outfit styling advice from the comfort of your home. It’s like having me in your closet!:)
It’s called Style Snapshot.
How does it work? You email me one or two photo’s of a single look or outfit you would like to improve on. It may be that it just feels off for some reason or you want verification that you look like your best. It could be for a special occasion or an everyday outfit.
I will email you back several solutions to improve the proportion, color and/or style which I believe would look better on you.
Will this be my opinion? Yes, but as a trained Image Consultant and personal stylist, it is an educated opinion. Please know that I will be kind but honest which you should not take personally. After all, why pay for someone to just flatter you? You could go to a department store and find a lovely salesperson working on a commision for that;)
Here’s a recent example of Style Snap Shot with a client who allowed me to share her photo.
She emailed this photo with no questions attached.
The email I sent to her:
This is a lovely outfit with vibrant colors that flatter your coloring.
Recommendations for this outfit:
Because the bootie is high on your ankle it shortens the look of your leg. I suggest you shorten the skirt several inches to a spot where your leg narrows.
If you prefer the skirt this length it could be improved with a shoe that has a much lower vamp which shows the top of your foot and lengthens the look of your leg. The shoe color is perfect.
*I’d shorten the skirt 3+ inches.
The top is long and it’s ruching (folds) at the waist draws the eye horizontally at your hipline. Fold the hemline up and under to shorten the top or have altered. When it’s shorter, allow it to fold closer to your waistline which emphasizes how tiny it is. Having the top shorter will also lengthen the look of your legs.
The necklace (tiny and hard to see) is not needed and interferes with the lacing neckline detail. I’d skip a necklace and add larger earrings to draw attention to your face.
A brighter lipstick will also draw the eye up to your face and would help balance the strong colors of the outfit. ( she was wearing pale lipstick)
Ideas for next time:
Try the petite department. I know their selections are limited but often saves money on alterations.
Your nipples do show through your top so consider a different bra under this type of knit fabric.
I’m offering this service at an introductory price of $30 for one outfit which will consist of a few email exchanges per look.
I also offer personalized e-shopping and style consulting to clients on an hourly basis, please inquire via email for rates.
I am so excited to share this new styling service with you! I am looking forward to connecting with you,
