Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have plans to be with loved ones. I’ll be a guest several times this weekend but not a hostess. That’s a big switch for us. Gone are the days when we hosted 14-20 people for holiday meals which feels bittersweet, but right. Our family has spread out so visiting is the name of the game now.
Many holiday parties will find me wearing classic shapes and neutral colors. I love pouring on the attitude with fun accessories but I also like to let my classics tell a simple story. Today’s look is ageless and simple.
Classics are the backbone of my wardrobe, and I suspect the same is true for many women. They are the neutral basics that always look appropriate and allow our more creative pieces to stand out.My classics may differ from yours but they’re basically garments in timeless shapes and fine fabrics that will stand the test of time.
They’re the pieces I reach for over and over and style in myriad ways. Today, I added simple earrings and a vintage necklace in my favorite color. Tomorrow I could add faux fur, stacks of bracelets and a statement hat.
I’m a huge fan of V-neck cashmere pullovers for easy, luxe dressing that is versatile and comfortable. This sweater is by Everlane. I’ve worn their sweaters for years because the quality is outstanding and their price point is amazing!
My pants are the casually polished, Eileen Fisher straight leg in ponte knit. They’re perfect for parties that involve eating because the wide elastic waistband has a smooth silhouette and lots of stretch.
