Look of the Week: Artistic and Comfy

I’ve built a collection of great white shirts over the years and find them an easy way to look effortlessly put together. Classic shaped ones have their place in my wardrobe but more and more I’m searching out unique shapes and fabrics. I love the artistic touch they add to my look.

This new Keaton Shirt by Comfy USA is made from a woven crepe de chine that has a permanently crinkled texture. Its straight silhouette is roomy but not bulky because the fabric is so lightweight.

It has tiny black buttons up the front and long sleeves that can be rolled to showcase bracelets…always a favorite with me. ItsĀ texture makes this shirt perfect for travel and layering.

I wore it with flat shoes and stretch pants to run errands around town last week. It felt classic with a twist and several women commented how much they liked it! This shirt will also dress up for eveningĀ occasions with a simple change of accessories.

I love thatĀ Artful HomeĀ carries this shirt in sizes XS to 3X! For reference, I am wearing a size small.

I have my eye on several other things from this new collection. I love this striped version of the Sassy Cowl Jacket.Ā You saw me wear it in black here,Ā and I’m thinking the cream and black would be very useful. It travels beautifully and never wrinkles.

I adore the fabric Carol Turner uses for her Fiore tops. I wantĀ needĀ this Fiore Seamed Tunic in both Deep Teal and Mulberry Purple. The colors are luscious and the shaping is unique.

The older I get the more I appreciate artistic styles that allow me to stand out from the crowd.

How about you? Are you comfortable making a statement with your look?

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

I love your style! Are you wearing a camisole under the shirt? How sheer is this shirt?

    1. It’s almost sheer, if that makes sense. I’m just wearing a nude bra, no cami!

  2. I’ve always avoided white. I don’t think the colour suits me next to my face. I bought 2 pairs of cropped summer pants from LL Bean but I think it’s telling that I have only worn the khaki ones, not the white ones. I have plans to take the white ones on an upcoming cruise to Hawaii but white seems to get dirty so easily and then the slightest smudge/spot shows right away. Also white seems to turn greyish easily and/or stain under the arms.

    1. White does easily turn gray or yellow from deodorant stains. It’s a challenging color but I’ve learned to love it! Stained yellow looks as dingy to me as stained white. Good luck in Hawaii!

I have that same shirt and I enjoy wearing it year-round here in AZ. It’s lightweight enough to wear even in our hottest weather and it travels so well. You look great in it!

    1. Thanks Heather!! It will be perfect for traveling. It is very lightweight!

  4. Looks like your vacation is tons of fun…your family always does such a great birthday trip and I love your smile in all the pictures. Just looked at that Sassy Cowl Jacket…it’s cool! Love the design.

  5. I love your blog, and you always look so nice and ready to greet the world! I’m having trouble with figuring out how to dress this new (older) body of mine. I’m 67 and have been used to wearing clothing that fits closer to my body, but now the lumps and bumps and muffin top don’t look so great in that style. BUT, the new flowy tops make me feel like I’ve resurrected my maternity clothing from 40 years ago. It now takes a lot of “trying on” to bring something home.

  6. Looks cool and comfortable for an August afternoon. Love the purse too!

I also love white shirts and i have a collection of them, many of are in Linen because i used to live in Puerto Rico and it may sense for the heat. I recently moved to Washington DC and I am triyng to find some in different fabrics for this climate.
I love your style and the “orejitas” you give us.

    1. Linen shirts are my new love this summer Monica. I’m embracing the wrinkles and love how cool they feel!
