Midweek Pop-up- Casual and Colorful

Midweek Pop-up- Casual and Colorful

Happy Wednesday ladies. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing zucchini recipes on Monday. I’m beginning to think I should put together A Well Styled Life readers cookbook with all your recipes so I can keep them in one place. More on that later because it’s time for our mid-week “would you wear it” pop-up.

Each week, on Saturday, my friend Pam and I share a mannequin we’ve found and ask our readers if they would wear what it’s modeling. Since most of us are at home these days, we decided a mid-week version would be fun as well and many of you are enjoying it.

Mannequins are hard to come by these days 🙂 so I’m using an image from a website. If you hate it, you can be sure another woman loves it so please keep your comments personal to you. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and let’s talk about fashion.

So tell me, ladies, would you wear this?

Does it fit your shape and lifestyle?

How could you make it work for you?

Some other colorful tops

Now let’s go over to Over 50 Feeling 40 and see what outfit Pam is sharing.

Be well and remember to wear what makes you feel confident.

I have very good luck with SS, both quality and service. So I am surprised at poor reviews. I hope this is in my local store when it re-opens next week, because I want to try it on. Like someone said, I too am a brick and mortar gal, I have shopped online during lockdown, but I like to try things on. I I love how upbeat the colors are. It’s a happy look.
Talbots has several pretty Madras plaids in the latest catalog, and I believe one is a blue/green combo.

Bright cheerful colors, cute detail with the bottom side buttons, flattering V neckline, and it pairs well with these white jeans and would also go well with a dark denim. BUT, plaids that don’t match at all at seams aren’t a look I can live with

I love the outfit exactly as shown, but the reviews lead me to wonder if the photo is a very accurate rendering of the actual top. I would want to see it in person, feel the fabric, examine the workmanship, and try it on, but I’m definitely a brick and mortar shopper as opposed to a fan of ordering online. That being said, I love the classy casual style. As one with a slim, boyish figure who rarely ever tucks anything in, I like the big buttons on the sides.

What a lovely, cheerful outfit! Thanks for brightening my day. The colors in this shirt are just a little too intense for my coloring and taste, but I love the idea of a madras plaid (just more pinks and blues for my skintone) and white pants. I’d probably also choose white crops or capris in the summer heat. The sandals are adorable; however, these days with sanitation in mind more than ever, I am on the lookout for closed toe, slingback flats. If only I could find some! I really like the idea that Norma G (above) put forward about wearing the shirt open with a tank underneath. Thank you!

This is a happy shirt. Love the bright colors and the buttons on the side give it a one of a kind look. I had to look up what kind of fabric it is and cotton is my favorite. I personally can not wear polyester because it’s way to hot for me. Beautiful shirt
      Thanks for the share

This outfit looks fabulous and I would wear it with a little tweaking. I would add a colorful tank under the plaid shirt and leave the shirt open. I rarely wear a fitted/ semi fitted woven top because they tend to feel constricting. I love the bright colors of the top and adding a tank in one of the colors from plaid would add another dimension and accent which ever color I wanted. A bold plaid like this one can add weight and leaving this shirt open over a tank adds a vertical line which adds height instead of just width. A bright top with white pants is always a great look for summer.

I like a madras print but as a petite woman I think this will overwhelm me but I like it on the model. Maybe you have to be tall to carry it off. Not crazy about the buttons on the side I wish SS had used a smaller and prettier version as I think it looks a bit clunky. But love the white jeans.
Thanks for the fun conversation Jennifer have a happy week!
