Look of the Week: First Holiday Party
With Thanksgiving in our rearview mirror, it’s full steam ahead forĀ Christmas and Hanukkah. I’m seeing decorations everywhere which areĀ a welcome sightĀ because they help me get in the spirit. We stopped by a holiday open house on Saturday which meant lots of noshingĀ so I needed to wear comfortable pants.
Jeans are almost always acceptable in Northern California but I wanted to step it up a notch. I’m that girlfriendĀ who gets a phone call to remind her the upcoming event is casual so I didn’t want to look overdressed. I chose classic shapes in neutral colors with tonal accessories for a subtle look.
These MontrealĀ Pants from Artful Home were perfect! I paired them with a classic V-neck sweater, long duster, peep-toe booties,Ā a gorgeous shawlĀ that I wore as aĀ scarf and my favorite tote bag.
I got my firstĀ pair of these pants in white last summer and wore them constantly so when Artful Home offered them to me in black, I jumped at the chance!
This pull-on style is pocket, button and zipper-freeĀ so they haveĀ a very sleek silhouette.Ā They’re designed with a hidden tummy control panelĀ that gently slims your tummy and never binds. Life is too short for tightĀ waistbands… especially when there are holiday treats everywhere.
I prefer ankle pants to actually show my ankles so a quick turn of the hem made these the perfect length for my 5’4″ height. For reference, I am wearing a size 6 and weigh 140lbs.
Lisette L pants have been called the Best. Pants. Ever. by More Magazine, pronounced a “must have pant” by Kathie Lee Gifford, and featured on Oprah and in her magazine as “magic pants”. I couldn’t agree more.
This classic black pant will be in heavy rotation in my wardrobe this winter and beyond. They’re versatile, comfortable and machine wash, hang dry. What more could you want from a simple black pant?
Have you tried Lisette L?
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
A big thank youĀ to Artful Home for providing these pants and partnering on this post: all opinions are my own.
I am going to have to try those pants! I thought they might be too straight on me but they look fabulous on you! Love the scarf!
They’re great Cindy, I think you’ll love them.
I, too, was admiring the scarf and the pretty way you had it tied in the first picture. A lovely accent for a lovely outfit.
Thanks Susie. I hope to do a post of scarves soon.
I second Roxanne re. your scarf in photo 1: it is indeed very chic, and the addition of the bronze color adds just the right subtle finishing touch to the outfit.
Thank you Renee, it’s a favorite!
I would love to know how you tied the shawl/scarf in the top picture! Itās very chic. Went up to a resort town in the mountains over the weekend with my girlfriends for a little retail therapy; we actually saw several middle-aged women shopping in their pajamas. Like Carson said on Downton Abbey āonce we let standards slide, we never get them backā! How is Lucy?
I simply wrapped it twice around my neck and tucked the ends in. This scarf has irregular ends which adds interest. I promise to make a scarf tying video.
Wow. PJs? Iām not surprised but Iām sad that women donāt respect themselves enough to dress for the day. Thanks for asking, my friend, sheās started the Interferon but the wart is growing so Iām still praying very hard for a miracle. Sheās the sweetest girl and deserves one.
I have these pants and love the fit. This brand is excellent. You look lovely and partyready!
Thank you Pam!
I’ve been looking at those pants. I know the brand is one of the best when it comes to pants. Love the whole look. Very easy wearing.
Youād love them Sandra! So versatile too!
You look so chic!
Thanks Linda
Your friends must hate you if you dress up and they don’t. So funny. I hope you had a good time and you looked perfectly put together.
I sure hope they donāt! This is just how I roll…I feel better when I look better so I have a better time. Thatās a lot of betterās š
