My Latest Nordstrom Rack Finds: May 2023

Last month, I shared some affordable spring Nordstrom Rack finds that caught my eye when I was browsing for a new bag. After reading your comments, messages, and emails, it seems that many AWSL readers are as big of a fan of Nordstrom Rack as I am. I find their brick-and-mortar stores difficult to shop at. I prefer to shop their website online because the selection is so much better, and I can search by category. I think many of you agree. They carry so many great brands at prices you canā€™t beat. I’ve learned the best things tend to sell out fast, so if you see something you like, move quickly. My latest Nordstrom Rack finds for May are fun pieces for spring and summer.

My Latest Nordstrom Rack Finds: May 2023

1. Daniel Rainn Pleated Skirt

Skirts are comfortable and easy, especially during the warmer weather months. I thought the earthy colors throughout this vibrant floral pattern on this pleated skirt by Daniel Rainn were very pretty. They don’t have the girly vibe that so many prints have this time of year.

2. Wide Brim Fedora

May is skin cancer awareness month, and with sunny days ahead, it’s critical to protect your face and scalp from the sun! Sunscreen is mandatory, but hats do so much more. If you’re looking for a new sun hat, this wide-brim fedora from San Diego Hat is a great option. It has a UPF 50+, and the wide brim offers plenty of coverage.

3. High Rise Crop Kick Flare Jeans

White jeans are a timeless staple in many womens spring/summer wardrobes. They’re super versatile and easy to pair with so many tops. This pair is a slight crop flare with a 27″ inseam, which will be the perfect ankle length for many of us.

4. Classic Stripe Shirtdress

You can’t go wrong with a classic striped shirtdress like this one from Max Studio. Its belt is great for defining your waist, or you can swap out the included one for a raffia or woven leather belt.

5. Sƶfft Verina Wedge Sandal

Cushioned, supportive wedges are a comfy option for those who want some extra height but can’t wear a heel. Sƶfft is well known for its foam-cushioned footbedĀ and arch support. Metallics are always fun for spring, or it comes in classic black.

6. Kut from the Kloth Boyfriend Shorts

If you’re shopping for casual shorts for summer, these denim boyfriend shorts from Kut from the Kloth are a great option. These have a 7″ inseam or you can cuff them. Sizes 0-16.

7. Vince Camuto Wrap

I love the versatility of this Vince Camuto wrap. You can layer it over a nice dress for dinner out or pair it with a tank top and pants. These are great to toss in your bag for vacation and make great bathing suit coverups. It also comes in a pretty blue.

8. Naturalizer Vivienne Ballet Flat

Ballet flats are always popular, especially when they’re comfy. These come in 4 colors, some in medium or wide. Naturalizer makes quality shoes that I’ve had a good experience with in the past. If you need more comfortable shoes, check out this post.

9. Classic Raffia Tote Bag

When the weather warms up, it’s time to lighten up the fabrication of our bag. Straw, wicker, canvas, and woven leather all look better with warm-weather clothes than dark or solid leather. This raffia tote is a great size for holding all your essentials or taking to the pool. I love it’s flat bottom and chain handle details.

10. Spring Blazer

This fun-colored blazer brightens any outfit you pop it over. It comes in eight happy colors in sizes 00-14-16. I’m partial to the pink, but the color range also includes cream and off-white.

  1. I didn’t even know Nordstrom Rack was available online until my son sent me a link for a pair of shoes he wanted a few years ago! My experience at the B&M store was as disappointing as everyone else. I should give it a second chance some day when I’m in that area.

  2. Shopping on line at the RACK is so much easier than the Rack in Roseville. Especially for women’s shoes!!!
Heard on the news Nordstrom’s in San Francisco is closing, could be the sign of the times.

    1. I also think that could indicate the area is decaying in SF. I never go there because it’s gotten very shabby.

  3. Not sure why anyone would go into a Rack store. In my experience, they are a jumbled mess. In contrast, you can find exactly what you want online, in seconds. I guess the exception to my rule is when my husband needs to go shoe shopping — Rack carries a large assortment of men’s size 13 and 14 shoes, and it’s worth it to make a straight beeline to shoes and then depart directly from there.

    1. My husband wears a 14w so shoes are a challenge for him too. The Rack Carrieā€™s quite a few.

      1. Carol Morley says:

Bette and Jennifer thank you both for the menā€™s shoe info (13W)! Carol

  4. Beautiful picks today.
I really hate to buy clothes on-line. I need to feel the fabric and try the items on.
Need to change my attitude because the Malls around here are slowing being fazed out. I love to shop in a store and no longer can. šŸ˜¢

    1. Thatā€™s a sad reality most places, Lin. Iā€™m finding more stores closing or reducing their stock.

  5. I had nit been inside the Rack for a long time and was really disappointed. Little go choose from, merchandise thrown on the floor, handbags secured so tightly you couldn’t really see them at all. Very sad. At least I can order online!

    1. Agreed. Customers are more careless and less respectful of merchandise that costs less. The same thing happens at Kohls, Target, Walmart, etc. itā€™s a shame.

  6. I love your finds! I want to thank you for introducing me to Nordstrom Rack a while back. They do have great values on the stuff I like at Nordstroms. Since I live in a Nordstrom desert, I didn’t even know about the Rack. Online shopping definitely brings those stores we are not familiar with into our livesšŸ˜‡

    1. Iā€™m glad I rediscovered them too. A Nordstrom desert sounds like a tough place for me to be.

  7. I love all your picks from the rack! You can always find good deals there.

  8. Pat Patterson says:

Happy Wednesday Jennifer, I like your selections today and I am so glad you mentioned difficulty shopping at the Nordstrom Rack store. I cannot find any of your recommendations in my local store and always walk out empty handed. I will check out the online store.
    Have a good day

    1. I canā€™t find things in my store either. Happy Wednesday!
