My Most Popular Posts This Year

Happy Friday and New Year’s Eve, ladies! I thought it would be fun to have a look at some of my most popular posts from this year. Many are updated versions and have been found by new ladies who join us here. That’s one reason why it’s so helpful for you to share the posts you like on Pinterest.

The Modern Way To Wear Leggings Over 50 is consistently one of my most-read posts. I know people love to say leggings are dead, but I am here to tell you they’re alive and well and more popular than ever.

I’ve added several pairs to my wardrobe this year and will continue to wear them. The success of wearing leggings comes down to fabric and proportion so don’t let anyone tell you leggings are out of style.

Six Things To Wear Over 60 is the second most-read post from 2021. We’ve all read the style rules, the do’s, don’t, and should never wear list of things that surfaces again and again. This post is what I’m choosing to wear over 60 that you may enjoy too!

Haircut and Products I’m Using For My Over 50 Thinning Hair gets consistent traffic. Its corresponding Youtube video is also getting a lot of traffic so I will likely do more posts on my hair struggles. You can watch it below.

My next popular post was published almost 3 years ago which tells me I need to cover it more extensively.

How To Look Taller And Slimmer is 4th in popularity followed closely by 11 Style Essentials for Women Over 50 and What To Wear Over 50.

What sort of posts would you like to see more of in 2022?

Have a safe and Happy New Year!

  1. I wonder if you might do some discussion about pant lengths. I see where there is a trend for shorter pant legs which make me ‘nervous’ as I remember the term ‘high-waters’ — hahaha. I am also getting a bit tired of skinny jeans. I kinda like the more voluminous trousers styles but they can be tricky with proportions and what type of footwear. I tend to lean towards basic straight legs that are almost hard to find any more! I also wear a lot of work clothes: I have a horse and a garden so I work in dirt, mud, water, hay etc. How about an article on WOMEN’s outdoor work clothes that fit and have a tad bit of style???
Thanks for all that you do! Love your blog.

  2. Living in Southwest Florida, I rarely get to wear a jacket and/or boots. Maybe once or twice in January it gets cold enough for a medium weight jacket. The thing about Florida is that it can freeze overnight, but as soon as the mid morning sun comes out…well, you know…peeling off layers begins, including boots!🤪 I love looking at the winter stylings, but summer stylings pretty much work all year round for me! (I’d have to buy an entire winter wardrobe to visit anywhere up north in winter!!)

  3. I love your blog, it resonates so well with me an over 60 recently retired but working part time woman. I like all your posts. Anything you want to write about being semi retired I would also like

  4. Hi. I am not sure if you covered this. But I would like to know about eyebrows. Yours look fantastic. How do you do it. I am 53 and I am not sure if I should do micro blading. I know they will look dark and I am very fair skinned with blond hair. Highlighted and colored of course

  5. Hi Jennifer, Thank you for blogging; blogs have become my entertainment of choice here at home. Where did you purchase the black, banded loafers in the top picture?

  6. Thank you for such an informative blog – your friendly style and honesty are refreshing. I have recently shared your blog with my mom (85 years old) and she agrees! Sending warm wishes to you for the new year ahead…

    1. That makes me so happy, thanks for sharing! Happy New Year!

  7. Marin Mattingly says:

I’d like to see a discussion about our underpinnings. Bras, panties, slips, etc

    1. Will do, thanks for the suggestion, Marin.

  8. Honestly, I love to see the lower price fashion finds you have posted. I shop primariy at Nordstrom, Talbots Chicos and Macys–but a bargain–I love! I have too many clothes and sometimes finding a sale or a goodie online or in a store I seldom shop just feeds my passion and addiction for new things. I can justify the purchase because it was a bargain. I’m at an age that I have quality staples in my wardrobe but want to update and refresh what I already own.

    1. That’s a wonderful idea, thanks Connie

  9. I just want to thank you for your interesting and informative blogs. I love anything about fashion and style and have happily followed you for several years. Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy year ahead.

    1. Happy New Year, Norma.

  10. I like your travel posts and shots of you in the area.

  11. I love your posts where you analyze either a fashion trend, a piece of clothing or long held fashion do’s and don’t that might not quite be true. your explanation about contrast was the best I have ever read. I also love that you highlight quality projects that are not necessarily in the top price points. Your travel excursions and getaways are also lots of fun to see and hear about. Thank you!

  12. Jennifer I always look forward to your blog. You give so much insight to subjects I over look or hadn’t thought about. I turn 65 in January and don’t want to look like I remember my grandmother (although I loved her dearly) so thank you for doing what you do by keeping it fresh and youthful!
    Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year to you and all the bloggers out there!

    1. Happy New Year, Judy

    2. I like that idea too. I have a lot of older clothes that have been hardly worn, but I want to restyle for my current more casual semi retired life

  20. Well, just let me say that your blog has been such a comforting inspiration for me. You’re a friend that I love to visit with daily and take away so many positive thoughts! Thank you!
One of my favorite topics you addressed was the power of accessories. You assigned a point system including points for certain hair styles and makeup.
I found this post so useful. At a time in my life when I don’t want to become invisible, I also don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard. Maybe a revisit to this subject…
