I’m a big fan of Target. Their prices are great for household items so I shop there often. When I do, I always cruise past the clothes to see what’s available. I was buying candles for a dinner party we’re giving tomorrow and decided to check out their new clothing collections.
My local store usually sells out of the good stuff fast, so I visited a newer, larger store 2 towns away that offers more selection.
“And New Day” is the newest fashion collection at Target and it’s wonderful!
I started with this plaid pullover, bi-stretch twill pants, and bow mules. I loved the concept but sadly the pants were one size too large, the shoes were one size too small and with my broad shoulders, the top would have been more flattering if it had a U or V neckline.
I loved these jeans with pearls on them and thought they would be a great match with this bell sleeve top. The top would look better 2 sizes smaller which might have made the sleeves manageable, but I’m not sure. I loved these jeans but they are cut for a curvier hip and were baggy on me.
I changed into this gray shirt with tiny stars printed on it and topped it with a shrunken Tweed Jacket.
I loved both of them! Sadly, the jacket was one size too small and the shirt was one size too large. By this time I was getting the memo loud and clear…I need to order online!
I swapped out the jacket for this gray and cream Ruana which I loved. I can see tossing this over lots of things this season and at $26.99 it’s an amazing value.
I changed into these 3D floral sneakers and this Dragonfly sweatshirt. The subtle colored sequins screamed for me to toss on this faux fur stole. What’s not to love about the high/low combo of sequin sweatshirt, sneakers, and a faux fur stole?
At $22.99, this leopard sweater was a no-brainer which also screamed for the faux fur stole:)
I was really pleased with the new fall selections from Target and the prices were amazing!
Do you shop at Target?
Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Wow! Looks like you really scored at Target. I hope the items you had to order online will fit. I have found some wonderful additions to my wardrobe from Target and am pleased that they are continuing to offer such a variety in fashion. I do have a problem in finding things that will fit properly. Pants seem to be either too tight or too loose – no in between. For tops and dresses I usually have to buy a large or an extra large to accommodate a generous bosom, I sure do like the pearl jeans and the little jacket you styled with the shirt and faux fur stole. I’m inspired now! Ready to go back to Target and take a second look.
I do wish the pearl jeans had fit me. They were just cut for curvier hips. I did love that little jacket! That fur stole came in several colors and is such a fun piece to add to wardrobes this fall!
I’m another Canadian saddened by our short-lived experience with Target. We had shopped Target stores in the US and were so excited when we heard it was coming to Canada. BIG disappointment!
I agree that the tweed jacket is you! The leopard print cardigan looks great too.
I don’t know what went wrong with Target Canada but it was a fiasco!!
Hi Jennifer, the leopard sweater looked so perfect on you that I visited our local Target to find it…..on sale for $19 and change…already have had compliments on this sweater. I was concerned because it was 100% cotton which tends to stretch out after a few wearings so time will tell. I rarely shop online because I feel clothes need to be tried on because sizes are not consistent and it’s a hassle to send back and re-order, especially when shipping is not free. Pleased with the leopard sweater. It’s slimming and doesn’t cling. Thanks! Kay from West Glacier Montana. ( happy to see you visited us this summer despite fires)
We adored Montana and will be back! Lucky you, it’s a gorgeous part of the world. The prices are so reasonable at Target, it’s worth giving things a try. I hope you’re happy with it Kay.
I had to laugh when I saw that Target was the focus of your post. Vermont is the only state in the country without a Target and just this week it was announced that one will be opening in a city 2 hours away! My daughter and I talked about making a girl’s trip there once the new store frenzy calmed down-probably next summer. Interestingly it is taking over a well-known Canadian store, Bon-Ton.
That is interesting! I assumed Target was everywhere here. There are 4 within a 25 minutes radius of me. Based on my size challenges, I also suggest shopping them online.
I’m a fur addict so the faux fur stole and the leopard sweater have my name on them! Love that you’re giving us a look at Target. I’ve never found anything there, but then I don’t look on a regular basis… Online shopper, but I’ll remember Target now. Thanks, Brenda
Their newest collections are pretty amazing! Definitely worth a look. Xo
I liked Target when it was in Victoria but rarely purchased clothes…mostly house wares and food items.
I never visited the one in Victoria, it must have been much better tha the one in Nanaimo!
Loved the pearl jeans. Could not find them on Targets site. I’ve not been inside of a Target in years. Tend to forget about them. Next time I’m on the front range I’m going to ‘visit’! Nice blog post.
Marcia
I couldn’t find the pearl jeans online either. Sorry! Worth a look for sure
I like your fringe hair style today!
Thanks Susan. It’s basically smushed up from pulling clothes on and off over my head:-D
Target was a big disappointment when it arrived in Canada. It didn’t have the same selection so people stayed away and it failed. Not sure what their thinking was…..
I know!! I was on Vancouver Island when Target launched there and it was dismal. The selections were horrible. Nothing like the ones in the US. Big mistake on their part.
What brand of jeans with pearls? Thanks
They are Who What Wear but I can’t find a link anywhere on the web. So frustrating.
You need to order that tweed jacket, it looks really nice on you! I’m jealous of your broad shoulders!! I remember at 7 years old being taken coat shopping; I overheard the sales lady murmur to my mother “she has such tiny, narrow shoulders”. Here I am at 65, traumatized still by that statement!
I have memories are of being told I looked like a football player, Roxanne! We need to turn off those messages! I do love that jacket.
could not find the jeans with pearls on them on the Target website…
I could not find them anywhere online too! Crazy. But they are in stores because I called my local one and they have them too!
I never shop at Target for clothing – you make it seem effortless – thanks for the inspiration, I’ll check it out.
You’re welcome!
I really like Target….and people never know something I wear comes from there. I love those jeans with pearls. Super fun and chic. And the leopard with the faux fur is fun. Great finds, Jennifer.
Thanks for the suggestion to have a look! It was a great find!
I do the exact same thing at Target. I try to go at a time when there isn’t a crowd and wander through the clothes. I’ve bought some great things there! My sweet step-daughter showed me what I was missing on one of her visits. I love their order online service. I can order and they will deliver it to my local store. I can pick it up with no shipping charges … I can even try it on while I’m there. I’m definitely looking for that cardigan and jacket online right now!
I agree Lezlie. Their delivery is easy least to use!
Hi Jennifer, I love the new line as well! A new day. However, like all Target clothes I feel you must try them all on, no two styles for the same. I recently bought a cardigan, a long cardigan, and a military jacket…..love!,,,
It’s a great new line. They had the most fun styles to choose from. Of course Who What Wear is very good too.
