Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks Still In Stock

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale finally opened to the public yesterday, and the good news is that everyone can now shop it. The bad news is that many great pieces have already sold out. I missed out on a few things I really wanted, but they do restock lots of pieces, so I’m keeping watch. I highly recommend you join the Nordy Club here, which is free and allows you to get earlier access next year. Today I’m sharing some great Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks still in stock and what I bought.

There’s nothing like a great plaid for giving me all the fall feels. I couldn’t resist this Vince Camuto longline blazer in navy with a windowpane plaid. There are matching trousers here, and suits are still a strong trend for fall. But with my casual lifestyle, I’ll get more wear out of it over a great pair of jeans.

I paired it with this super soft Rails organic cotton shirt that I’ve shared with you before. It’s lightweight and in one of my very favorite colors. I tried tying it at my waist as I usually do, but prefer the look of it tucked in with this blazer. The fabric resembles the cotton gauze I’ve been living in all summer and will transition to fall beautifully.

I have this unfinished hem version of these jeans that I’ve worn on repeat all summer, so am thrilled to find them with a finished bottom. They have a unique insert on the inside of the leg that adds a nice flare. I expect these to sell out fast, but hopefully, they will get restocked. They’re a great weight denim in a nice wash that’s not distressed and have a high rise (always a favorite for preventing muffin top).

And can we talk about the length of these jeans for a second? I’m loving that I don’t have to hem these, so I’m scooping up all the ankle flares I can find. Unfinished hems are easier to adjust, but I’m most of the time, I prefer a finished hem.

These Eileen Fisher sling-back wedge booties are such a fun find. They have a stable block heel that resembles a cowboy boot. The suede is woven in a crisscross pattern and the sling back makes them easy to get on and off. They also come in a beige or a gorgeous brown, but I know the black will work better for my wardrobe.

Beauty finds that caught my eye:

What else caught my eye

Nordstrom is my favorite department store for so many reasons, not the least of which is their fabulous selection, great customer service, and free shipping both ways. Plus, when you join the Nordy Club, you earn points towards notes you can use on future purchases, plus you get free basic alterations. They also offer BOPUS, ROTUS (reserve online, try on in-store), and curbside pickup.

I’ll share more of my purchases as they arrive and cross my fingers that things are still available.

  1. Although summer is my favourite season for weather (in Canada), I love fall fashion the most. I love plaids, soft sweaters, and deeper jewel tones. Sadly, I can’t shop Nordstroms. Those slingback booties are really cool!

  2. I was about to order the plaid blazer to try, when I watched the Nordstrom salesperson’s video and found it’s not really double-breasted, it just has two columns of pointless buttons. What?! There are no button holes? It’s an open jacket? I’m pretty surprised by this — maybe it’s now the norm?

    1. It’s not the first time I’ve seen that. I guess most people don’t button them anyway.

    1. Those look great, Bette!

  3. Love the blazer! Looks great on you.
Question….did you size down? Or is fit tts? Description says runs large so ??
    Thx!

    1. I did size down to an 8. I think it runs a bit large

  4. Celia Bass says:

Can I ask what size you got in the navy cardigan? I need one with long sleeves but will have to order online as I live too far from a store to try on. I am 5’2”; 125 pounds, obviously petite. My nearest Nordstrom’s is four+ hours away in Atlanta.

    1. I bought a medium so I can layer it over other things.

  5. I agree that Fall is THE best fashion time. I am not ready to leave summer behind, though. I realize you have to snap up fall fashion as soon as you see it. I totally love your plaid blazer with the jeans. I love tweed with jeans, too. The only item I have purchased so far is a pair of champagne colored ballet flats.

    1. I love the sound of your ballet flats!

  6. Super finds Jennifer and particularly like the blazer as colors, style and the plaid pattern would carry me right into early Winter where I am. That being said; unfortunately Nordstrom is not available for us Canadians any longer however a tip for your readers that are; Macy’s online often offer some very good deals and what I do like about them is that there are no surprises re total price as ‘everything is calculated upfront’. i.e.: Dollar conversion/shipping cost/all duty + taxes. Oh their return policy is reasonable as well and they do accept Pay Pal. -Brenda-

    1. Good to know, Brenda.

  7. I had a very similar plaid blazer. Just gave it (and all my longer pieces) to Goodwill. Just never wore them.

    1. It’s a great time to clean out our wardrobes.

  8. By the way, has anyone else noticed that more of the pants shown for fall are slim leg? Is this just my imagination?

    1. I’m seeing a mix but the widest ones do seem to be slimming down.

  9. Love the blazer, very similar to a Talbots I purchased last fall, so I’ll probably pass. I did have a great time and successful shopping at the anniversary sale….looking forward to Fall……

  10. These are really great finds! Can’t wait to go to the sale. Love the wedge boots and the cardigan. Thanks for sharing.

  11. This is a GREAT look on you! I realize you model clothes that aren’t really your taste/style just to show us what you’re finding in the stores, but frankly, a lot of it is terrible. It’s not you, it’s what’s in the stores for women our age. If I see one more floral pattern…ugh!

I’m a tellin’ ya, I’m sticking to Nordie’s and other women should, too. It’s what’s up!

    1. LOL, I’m not a fan of florals for myself but they look great on many ladies.

  12. Melinda Beckett says:

Good morning, Jennifer. I love this look! The plaid blazer is beautiful with the green blouse and I like your jeans with a finished hem. I bought some black suede booties on sale at Talbots during a sale in June. .. so I am partially ready. Thanks for the early look at fall. Can’t wait!

    1. Good morning! I always look forward to fall weather because it’s my favorite time to play with fashion.

  13. Good choices, Jennifer. I, too, purchased the Eileen Fisher sling back booties. They are so comfortable, and I think versatile. I typically go up one half size in this brand’s shoes because of my wide feet.
I purchased fewer items at this year’s sale, but love what I chose. The Vince sweaters, should they be available, are really nice.

    1. They’re such cute booties. I was torn between the colors but I’m glad I got the black. I love Vince cashmere. I bought one last year and wore it a lot.

  14. I am so over this sale!

    1. You’re not alone with that

  15. I like the plaid blazer….it would be nice to see it styled with different shirts/tops to see options. Those shoes do look enticing.
