Pom-poms are so unlike me I’m surprised they’re on my radar at all. I started noticing them last summer and now I see them everywhere. I don’t tend towards playful or girly looks but the more pom-poms I run across, the more I like them. I suspect it’s easy to go overboard and end up looking like a kindergarten art project…which I want to avoid like the plague.
Are there elegant ways to wear pom-poms? Maybe, but does that defeat the whole purpose of pom-poms?
These Kate Spade lace up platform sandals would be easy to wear all summer. Picture them with white jeans and sun dresses.
There’re lots of straw hats and totes sporting pom-poms this year. I tried a few hats on but felt goofy in them. Maybe I’ll just glue some pom-poms on a tote I already own. Oh, oh…glue and pom-poms sound like a kindergarten craft.
This clutch by Loeffler Randal is a colorful way to add them to your look. The all black outfit makes the pom-poms pop and the bag itself recede. I’d wear this outfit with flats which would dress the whole thing down a notch. A less expensive version would be smarter for me because…well pom-poms:)
I wandered through the shoe department in Nordstrom last week and fell in love with these shoes! These don’t feel too sweet for my style. Hispanitas are incredibly comfortable which is always my goal with shoes. I’m testing them out on the carpet at home to be sure they’re comfy before I commit.
Then I found these earrings. I love their price, color, shape and summer vibe. I’ll wear these all summer long. Nothing serious about these earrings and I don’t feel like Carmen Miranda wearing them. The blush color is also on trend and a fun change from my usual earring style.
Is there a new fashion you’re wanting to try this spring?
Does your style change for warmer weather?
