Ready, Set, Go

If you read many blogs you’ve likely been bombarded with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale hoopla. This time of year feels like a feeding frenzy on many social media channels as bloggers all vie to provide the last link shoppers use to buy at the sale.

Here’s how it works:

If you click on blogger A’s link to Nordstrom and put things in your shopping cart, the company drops a cookie in your computer which pays that blogger a small commission when you buy.

However if you save that cart then click back to Nordstrom through blogger B’s link and purchase what’s in your cart, blogger B gets the commision. It’s the name of the game for affiliate marketing and I think causes some of the overkill on the coverage of this sale.

This sale takes place once a year and is unique because rather than discounts on old merchandise it’s on new selections for the upcoming season. I always buy things during this sale.

Early access begins today for card holders so I’ll drag myself from the beach and start my shopping. Honestly, I’d rather stay at the beach and read but my only regrets with this sale have been things I hesitated over and missed out on.

Because I’m traveling and can’t get into the store, I’ll be ordering more than usual and shipping back what doesn’t work. Nordstrom makes this easy because they give free shipping both ways and take returns with no questions asked.

I won’t bombard you with posts on this sale but I will be back to share what I look for, what I’ve purchased and things I think are a particularly good buy

Do you shop this sale? What do you look for?

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Affiliate links within this post may generate income for AWSL at no additional cost to you. When you shop through my links, I earn a small commission which helps support my business.

Tulsa doesn’t even HAVE a Nordstrom’s, nor am I a card holder plus, living on a fixed income doesn’t afford me the $$$ to go. Splurging on clothes I can’e even try on without ordering them. SO….avoiding all of those blogger’s who inundate their reader’s with the aforementioned in your blog. I appreciate the way YOU are handling it and look forward to seeing what you buy. So glad you’re enjoying and having a relaxing trip!!

I do order things without trying them on because the shipping and returns are free. I find much more online than in the store do it gives me more options. It’s sooo relaxing!

I love NAS…Look forward to it…Actually got up at 3:00 and did my shopping…This is such fun for me…There is no Nordstrom in my town so I do all my shopping online…Nordies offers free shipping so I can return what doesn’t work…I have found the CS at Nordstrom just extraordinary….
My selections this morning were things I had researched long before so I knew exactly what I wanted…Ordered and can’t wait for the delivery…I really don’t depend on the blogs to help me decide…
Yup….to me…This is the MOST wonderful time of the year…smile..

Yes, I have already scanned the website and placed my first order. Learned a lot from the past few years and am stocking up on things I love and trying to avoid past mistakes. Can’t beat the discounts on some of my undies, beauty products, etc. We don’t have a Nordstrom in my city, so it’s all online for me. Luckily, I can return things at the nearby Rack.

I do shop this sale for winter items because the nearest Nordstrom is two hours away and the discounts are usually pretty good. I always look for sweaters. I’m retired so my clothing needs are very small, but I do like to stay current. Jeans and a cozy warm sweater are my winter uniform. I have begun to wear a type of athletic shoe more often due to comfort for my feet. I will be looking for dark colored sneakers for winter. I have ordered jackets and coats a few times in the past but I am in good shape in that area now.

Dark sneakers are a smart idea. I always buy boots and booties.

Nordstrom’s is my favorite store. I have not shopped this sale but I need to get on board with it. I tend to buy based what you purchase. I will hop over there and see what I might need ????

I dragged myself to the mall for the summer sales and found one thing: a plain linen top in a solid, classic color. I had to bribe myself with a fluffy coffee to keep looking. It took two hours. Worth it after all.
