The Belt You Didn’t Know You Need

I have a nice collection of belts that I seldom wear. The popularity of hip length and tunic tops have made the tucked-in look less popular plus spreading midsections mean most women my age aren’t wearing belts. The problem is I usually need one.

I wear jeans often and that’s when I need a belt. Traditional zip and button closures leave a bump poking out the front of my shirt which screams for some way to flatten it.Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life wearing the Skinni Belt

As the day wears on my jeans also loosen up and start sliding south. Hiking my jeans up is annoying but a regular belt causes a huge bulge under tops. Purple Poppy offered to send me this The Skinni Belt on A Well Styled LifeThis little belt solves many problems and hides a multitude of sins. It’s made of ultra-thin stretch webbing that’s invisible under tops. It slips through your belt loops to eliminate button bumps up front and gaps in the back. It also flattens the top of the waistband so it doesn’t poke out.The Skinni Belt on A Well Styled Life

I love how this little Bee pin picks up the color in my Tee shirt. It’s made in the USA and such a fun piece, I’m wearing it a lot.

If you wear jeans, you know they can have fit issues no seamstress can fix. This little belt goes a long way towards solving many of them.

Do you struggle with backside gaps or buckle bump? Have you tried the Skinni Belt?

  4. I’m ordering this belt TODAY! I’ve been “altering” the waistband of all my jeans for the last few years by inserting a 6″ piece of 1″ wide elastic at the back, inside the waistband and stretching it to 12″ – and sewing it on either end using thread the color of the denim…..this belt is going to be a life-changer – I hope!

    Dear Jennifer,

Just a quick note to tell you how much I love my navy cashmere poncho. You wrote about it last summer. I bought it on sale, and took your advice to take it on airplanes. Now it’s cold in Florida and I looked chic last night while keeping warm!

    1. I’m so glad you love it, Gail. I wear mine often and love the ease of having my arms free and the coziness of the cashmere. They’re really quite perfect!
