Polka Dots and Trailers

The good news is our trailer is finally repaired! The bad news is it took over 2 months and honestly, they should have just totaled it. It turns out the frame had been bent and they had to take most of it apart to repair. That means the value of it has plummeted, which will matter when we eventually decide to upgrade. On the bright side, we can

get back on the road and have some adventures soon. It may not be glamorous, but it’s great fun to travel in.Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life

After we parked it at our storage spot we grabbed lunch in downtown Pleasanton then got some pictures.Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life wearing Truffle Travel Jacket from Artful Home

I wore my new Truffle Travel Coat by Spirithouse from Artful Home, blue jeans, and booties. I knew I’d love this jacket the moment I saw it. I’m a huge fan of polka dots and this has them in my favorite shade of blue.

It has two front pockets which I adore. Don’t ask me why I like putting my hands in my pockets but I do. If they’re there…I use them.

It’s classic A-line shape that is anything but ordinary. The asymmetrical hemline has a gently curving front which is a pretty feminine touch. It has princess seaming which is slimming and always flatters. The foldover collar can be worn flat or buttoned to stand up.

It’s also available in solid black but I knew this would coordinate nicely with blue jeans, which I wear often.

It’s hard to see, but the back has diagonal tucks which add extra detail. I think it runs a bit large and for reference, I am wearing an XS.

Do you like polka dots? The polka dot is sold out but it’s still available in black here.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

A big thank you to Artful Home for collaborating on this post. I was compensated and they supplied my jacket. All opinions are my own.

  1. Pleased to hear your van has been repaired. Loving the jacket, will be great for travelling. Thanks for sharing that travel wardrobe website. Wish we had something like that in Australia!

    1. It’s my pleasure to share what I wear while RVing. Life is different on the road, but looking my best is always important.

I recognized the corner of Main & Angela immediately. Love Pleasanton. I live on the east coast but my son and grand kids live in Pleasonton. Great town. BTW, look forward to your blog and travels.

    1. It’s such a darling town, we love going there, Sandy. Your son and grandkids live in a great place!

  3. I am a huge fan of polka dots as well. That looks darling on you. I don’t wear blue but the black is sure tempting!!

    1. It would look fabulous on you Cindy! The shape is so special!!

  4. I love the jacket, Jennifer! I’m not usually a big fan of polka dots, but in this case I really like them. I do love pockets too.

So glad you finally have your trailer back. I’ve been wondering. We broke down and winterized ours this week… reluctantly! We had hoped to get out in it one more time, but between the weather getting colder and our calendar fuller, it wasn’t going to happen. We did spend 47 nights in it this summer though… a new record!

    1. That’s terrific! 47 nights is fabulous. I can’t wait to hit the road:)

  5. Hey no one has pointed out how great the red lipstick looks on you! It actually makes your blue eyes pop, it’s a very pretty colour. And the sunglasses are a great look too!

    1. Thank you Alison! I’m getting used to the red. It’s definitely got more punch:)

Love, love this jacket! Going to Artful home now! It’s wonderful looking and flattering on you – it’s looks like something I would love too! And your photographs are just so appealing, really nicely done.

    1. You will love it Kathleen! Remember to size down because it does run large. It’s so fun in the polka dot, which is on trend this fall too! I’ll tell my husband your comments about his photos…he’ll be thrilled.

  7. What were your insurers thinking? Your right the value of your trailer has plummeted and might even be hard to sell. I hope it tracks right. It’s frustrating when you spend do much on coverage and then get no satisfaction. I feel a Stones song coming on. Take it away Mick Jagger. Lol
    Love your jacket. Style plus!

    1. I agree Joanna! They gave us no say in the matter which is very frustrating. It’s such a fun jacket…you’ll see me in it on our trips!

  8. Cute outfit! Love the polka dots. And the different shades of blue work so well together. Where is your kisslock backpack from? It’s adorable! I love anything with a kisslock closure.

    1. Thanks Beth. It’s a Joan and David backpack style. I’ve had it over 25 years. I love this clasps too!

  9. I am also a fan of pockets! This jacket is really fun. Glad your trailer is all better!

  10. i love polka dots but rarely wear them. While sitting outside on campus in college years ago a photographer snapped a few pictures of me. He then told me I shouldn’t wear that polka dot shirt as it competed with all my freckles! I’m 60 years old and still hesitate to even try on polka dot or even leopard print patterns in tops or scarves that will be near my face. Why do women take such comments to heart?

    1. It’s amazing that we do take them to heart. In my humble opinion, your freckles would have no impact on polka dots or leopard pattern and vice versa! I work to ignore those kind of old messages that no longer serve me.

  11. Regina Jones says:

The black booties! Please give me information on those. I can’t wear heels, so I’m usually looking for cute flats. But this height and thickness of heel, I’d like to try. Thank you

    1. These are very comfy! They’re by Munro and come in many widths. I got mine at Nordstrom last winter but they make similar ones all the time.
