Truly Invisible

Happy Monday Ladies. You heard it here first… I never, ever thought I’d share with you what I’m sharing today. Bare with me…terrible pun intended.

Proper foundation garments are the unseen critical support system that can make or break your outfit. I don’t wear strapless tops and dresses often but I do wear tops and sundresses with spaghetti straps in the dog days of summer. I’ve been a fan of Soma’s vanishing back bras for years because their totally seamless edges prevent lumps and bumps along the side and back. So when Soma reached out for me to try their new Vanishing Back Strapless Bra, I was curious to see how it fit. This post is sponsored by Soma.

I know that even a five-pound weight change will affect the fit of your bra so I popped into my local Soma for a professional fitting and tried their new Somaininnofit Bra at Soma

I was skeptical when they told me I’d gone up a band size #vacation but then I tried several bras on in my new size and they fit perfectly! I just love it when technology works the way it’s supposed to, don’t you?

This new showing adjustable straps on bra

There are multiple loops inside this bra which allow you to convert it to a halter bra, racer back, adjust how wide apart the shoulder straps are or remove them altogether. Wearing the right size in a strapless bra is critical because, well, there are no straps to hold it up! The construction and fit are all that keep it in place.

Soft tan works for many women but I chose the Adobe Rose which works perfectly with my pale, pinkish skin tone. I can honestly say this is the most comfortable strapless bra I have ever had on.

There’s also a fresh crop of colors and patterns in their Jennifer of A Well Styled Life pouring tee in the morning wear rove and pajamas from Soma in cool blue color

The robe has slightly cropped sleeves which make it easy to wear while going about your morning. The pajama bottoms have a subtle dot texture, a comfy elastic waistband and are available in a regular or short inseam. I’m 5″4″ tall and wearing a small in the regular length.

When’s the last time you had a professional bra fitting?

Do you have times when you absolutely, positively need to wear a strapless bra?

Thanks for reading ladies and Have a great day.

A big thank you to Soma for partnering on this post. I was gifted product and compensated. All opinions are my own.

  1. I like Soma’s minimizer. It does the trick. I was not aware of their Cool Nights collection. I certainly will take a look. Thanks Jennifer.

  2. Thanks for the info about Soma bras. I think I will go into a shop (boutique!) and try them.
I also have size 10-1/2 to 11 feet so Zappos is my friend for shoes. I hate that I have to send them back if they don’t fit, but they don’t seem to mind.

    1. Brands are usually fine with returns. They know shopping is been done more and more often online. I often buy 2 sizes and return the one that doesn’t fit.

  3. Thanks for sharing this! I certainly appreciate knowing this is available and the colour you chose would work well for me too. By the way, you look great!

    1. Thank you so much. It’s a great color. I was pleasantly surprised to discover it was perfect for me. I hope it works for you too.

  4. I have worn the Soma vanishing back bra for a couple of years. I have lost a few lbs so the ones I have now are a little too big. My issue with the front closing are they sit so far in on my shoulders I have a hard time finding tops where my straps don’t show.

    1. Perhaps that’s why I don’t own any, Victoia. Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to do a reconnaissance trip and check it out.

  5. You are a very brave woman.

    1. Thank you, Kay. It wasn’t easy but I felt it necessary to show how it fits.

  6. Oh to be 10 again and not need a bra!!! What freedom!
Suggestions here are helpful. I doubt that I’ve ever had a correctly fitting bra. These days I feel like I need a fork lift.
Appreciate and enjoy your posts and your happy smile.

    1. Hahaha Penelope- I empathise totally, and you’ve really made my day with your post, I’m still chuckling.. thankyou!

    2. Lol! So true and we didn’t know to appreciate the freedom at the time. Thanks for being here Penelope

We will be going to the Pacific Northwest next month and I will be on the lookout for a Soma store in the U S of A. I generally go for comfort but a strapless bra would come in handy this summer. Thankypu for tackling this once taboo subject. Love your bathrobe. Treated myself to a new one last month and it is so soft!

    1. Sometimes strapless is the only way to go and this one is very comfy. Good luck

I have Soma pajamas, bras, panties. After breaking my left shoulder a couple years back, I’ve switched to all front-hook bras – much easier! I love Soma’s vanishing back. I buy the unlined because I don’t like foam lining (all manufacturers use this now) and miss the old contour cup style with fiberfill lining. at 5’9″ with a 33-34″ inseam, I appreciate the tall sizing. Thank you for sharing a great company!

  9. Those pajamas and robe are so pretty in that blue! And if I ever need a strapless bra, I know where to look. But I have a question about that adorable blue teapot. Would you share what kind it is? I love its size and color!

      1. I’m requesting that teapot for mothers day! And I need that vanishing back bra, so I’m off to Soma too…

      2. You will love the teapot :). Let me know how it goes with Soma

  10. why did they leave out 32’s?
even Target has added this elusive size

    1. That’s frustrating. It’s disappointing when brands don’t make or carry our size. I know tall, plus sized and petite women struggle with that in many items. Even shoes…my daughter wears an 11 and often can’t get the shoe she wants.

      1. 6pm.com and Zappos.com are great for unusual size shoes. You just do a search by size and/or style, color etc. My girlfriend gave me a heads up when her teenage daughter started wearing a 10.

  11. You look fabulous! Love the blue Jammies

  12. I’ve never been to Soma or had a bra fitting anywhere, but it’s something that I need to do. Now that I’m a breast cancer survivor, I’m definitely not even on each side. I only had a lumpectomy, but it did remove some “volume” from 1 side.
With Soma’s technology, it sounds like now is a good time to go for a fitting.
Thanks for sharing this resource, Jennifer!

    1. Please let me know how it works out for you Cindy. I have found Soma’s staff is excellent and used to fitting women with all bra needs.

  13. I like my Soma vanishing back bras that I bought within the last year, but I am disappointed in the durability of them. My other bras of lesser price seem to hold up better. I only wear them when I go someplace special and that is usually on weekends and careful when I wash and dry them. Any thoughts as to why they are not holding up better? I enjoy your blog and read it daily although I am not one who posts much. Thanks.

    1. I’m sorry to hear that! I haven’t had a problem with mine holding up. If it were me, I would take them into the store and talk to the manager about it. I find their customer service excellent. Let me know how it goes, please.

  14. I am definitely going to try their store!

  16. LOVE Soma! I only wear the front closure vanishing back bras, vanishing edge panties and Cool nights pajamas!

    1. I need to try the front closure vanishing back. I love their vanishing back bras!
