Would You Wear It- Color Crush

Happy Saturday ladies. I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend. It’s time for would you wear it so grab a cup of your favorite coffee or tea and let’s have some fun with fashion.

If you’re new here, welcome! Each week my friend Pam and I share a mannequin we’re photographed and ask if you’d wear what it’s modeling. We ask that you keep your comments personal to your taste and style, rather than sweeping generalities.

I know this JACKET is from Chico’s but can’t find a link / NO-IRON WHITE TUNIC / NECKLACE / PULL-ON JEGGINGS

I also love to have you share how you might style these pieces to work for your shape and lifestyle. Your ideas often inspire others to think outside the box.

So what do you think? Would you wear this?

Here’s what’s trending on AWSL:

This protein powder, which I talked about Monday. It turns out this is now $12. cheaper online than at my local market, so that’s where I’ll be buying mine from now on.

This slub knit button-front shirt is running a close second along with this space-dyed hoodie.

fashion blogger jennifer of a well styled life wearign chicos turtleneck and juliet pant

These pants were the by far, the most popular item in January and are now marked down to $39!

Now let’s go see what Pam’s mannequin is wearing at Over 50 Feeling 40

I like the jacket and shirt but don’t care for the pants. I probably wouldn’t wear any of it but I think the shirt and jacket would be great on someone who does navy. The necklace doesn’t add anything in my opinion, but what do I know!!

Hello spring! I would definitely wear the tunic & raspberry jeggings with an athletic slip-on or flat. For jewelry, I’d prefer something in silver peeking out at the tunic’s open neck such a short pendant or chain style. I have a denim knee-length duster from Chico’s that is at least 12 years old that I adore, so I want to like the topper here; but I’m not a fan of true double-breasted jackets or coats because they’re hard to wear unbuttoned. So while I like the concept, I would prefer a single-breasted style

The white tunic is the piece I would be apt to purchase. While the necklace is cute with it, I’m not a fan of jewelry that’s so trendy that it’s here today and out next year. I might consider the leggings in another color (a neutral, the dusty taupe is nice) but not the raspberry, and the jacket/coat is ‘meh’ for me – not sure if it’s the design (even though ‘the bathrobe look’ is trending), the color or the fabric.

I love that tunic too!! The back is so fun

I love the fabric of the jacket, but the style isn’t right for me. I’d much prefer a short jacket. I really like it with the white shirt. Very classic and classy!

Alas, I don’t wear bright colors so these pants would not be for me.

I like the look on the mannequin, but, alas, the only thing I would wear is the white shirt. The bright pink pants would accent things that I don’t wish to accent. The double breasted coat with should pads would not be flattering to me.

Thank you for commenting for me, Becky. I will add that any jacket similar to this one overwhelms my petite frame and height.

I love skinny jeans with a pop of color! I have several Chico’s girlfriend jeans in both neutrals and pairs in red and Malibu punch, a beautiful coral. And I have the white tunic blouse. So I do wear these pieces. I also like black turtlenecks or tunics in black with a bright bottom. I often pair this look with snake print ballet flats, loafers, sneakers, or block heel sandals depending on the look I am going forward. I do not like the denim trench. It seems fussy and trendy, two things I avoid. I have an black and white gingham anorak and a leopard print tench that I would pair with this look.

I love your styling ideas, Pat. They would be so chic with black on top

I would only wear this on a dull overcast day if I had nothing else to wear and in a very somber mood
The jacket is very dark and out of sync with the pink pants.

I like that raspberry pink. It’s interesting that some prefer a paler pink. For me, light pink doesn’t feel right at all. I would consider the white shirt. The jacket would look better on someone other than me. I prefer a simpler necklace.

On the Chico’s website, under How to Wear It, they show the pink pants with three different black tops which all look much better than this jacket. The sales associates should have used the website as a guide for dressing the mannequin!

I would wear the white tunic in a heartbeat. Chico makes wonderful no-iron blouses. The coat would look too sloppy on me. A more tailored coat would work. The jeans are not a color I would buy.

I like the jacket on the mannequin, but don’t think it would work on anyone with a normal size waist – or belly. And while I love pink, I think that bright pink pants would be hard to wear & would only work on thin women since they bring a lot of attention to the thighs. The necklace is definitely not my style. Sorry, I’m not usually so negative but this outfit is one of my least favorites that you’ve shown.

I wear classic or sporty design. This look is both!
Double breasted jacket is good …white shirt with
Cuffs showing good … I’d wear white slim jeans or for a real show gold laminate pants with a gold metal heavy necklace and gold watch band and on other wrist gold jewelry. Or replace with silver . This is a good body canvas based item I could wear a lot!

I like the jacket however, it looks like it has shoulder pads in it.
I would wear the jacket ( with out the shoulder pads if present. My shoulders have built in pads already) with white pants and a bright top (like red) or bright pink, lime etc.

I like all the pieces, but would not wear them together this way!

The coat appeals to me though I think the it is in a size too big for the mannequin and that is why it is not as attractive as it could be. I would also change up the belt for a cleaner look. I like the addition of stripes to the fabric and the large collar adds interest. I’ve never thought to wear a necklace on a coat , would just be in the way when taking it off and on but a broach would add some brightness. I would pass on the pink pants and would wear a light denim in the spring and a darker navy in the fall.

I would have to agree with many of the postings above, and say that the mannequin outfit would not look good on me. As my mother would have put it, I would look like “a sack tied in the middle.” ; ) Cropped pants don’t suit me, either, so there’s a thumbs’ down on that look. I do, however, like the outfit you’re wearing!

When you combine the double breasted cut with a front tie belt, it even adds a thickness to this pencil thin mannequins waist. It’s not a look that I have ever been comfortable wearing. The necklace is pretty but kinda looks like an afterthought on this display. Love the raspberry color that is showing up everywhere this season. I may need to source a clutch in this color. As much as I want to be open to trying new trends, I do need to be smart about it. If I were to buy the pink pants they would probably only look glorious in my closet and never see the light of day.
Thank you for another fun style challenge Jennifer!

I would flip the colors. Dark on the bottom and raspberry jacket on top. I would change necklace to more blue tones with a pop of raspberry.

I like it but I think I’m drawn more to the color in the necklace matching the pants and I always love the white shirt look but never seem to wear it. I like the jacket but I’d prefer just my usual denim jacket with this outfit. I don’t have bright pink pants but I do have a new pair of brownish gold and a new gold necklace. Add my usual denim jacket and white shirt and I’m good to go.

I am excited about trying colored pants this spring/summer. I ordered 2 pairs of girlfriend jeans from Talbot’s. One pair is sage and the other one is coral. I agree with everyone about the jacket. I don’t like it. Someone said that it looked like the jacket doesn’t fit the mannaquin. It looks really bulky and then there are hot pink sticks poking out of the bottom. Maybe if you were really tall and slim it would work. I can see that working much better. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t work on me

I love the pants and would definitely wear them. A white shirt is a wardrobe staple. The jacket is too long for my taste – I would wear if it was hip length (just long enough to cover my butt).

  21. Rose
    February 6, 2021 / 6:09 am

This outfit would not be for me. Everything is just too big for a short person. I do like the leggings if they were light pink. Love the outfit you are wearing, more my style.

  22. Sandra

Love the outfit the color combination is perfect. I like the necklace, but I think I can wear a nice scarf instead.

  23. Sue H
    February 6, 2021 / 5:49 am

I like the pieces individually, but the blue coat is too muted (or dull) for the vibrant pink pants. I feel like they’re fighting each other. I love the necklace. I would wear each of these, but separately.

  24. April Bruckmann
    February 6, 2021 / 5:34 am

Love the houndstooth pants , black turtleneck and birdies. This outfit is very “me”!

    February 6, 2021 / 5:31 am

Ooooh this is a keeper. I love the jacket, colour, stripes and collar. For myself I would wear a shorter necklace or a scarf, depending on the wind. After trying it on, I may remove the buttons on the non-working side, which I have done before. No one really checks you out that close to realize they are suppossed to be there, and it keeps the eye from going across instead of up and down. I would prefer my pink pants to be in a more muted shade with this or grey straight leg jeans and matching booties. Great look, and will have to search this one out.

    • Jennifer
      February 6, 2021 / 7:47 pm

That’s a clever idea about the buttons

  26. MP
    February 6, 2021 / 5:20 am

The outfit is not for me. The jacket is too long. I prefer a “regular” jean jacket. I never wear cuffs outside the sleeves. It looks silly on me. I have been looking for a pair of baby pink jeans. The pants here are way to bright for me. Chico’s jewelery is always so big. This is an example of that, and it competes with the buttons on the jacket. Pass.

  27. Pamela
    February 6, 2021 / 5:07 am

I love the necklace, but it doesn’t work with the pink pants. The pants are a cool pink and the necklace is a warm pink. They look as if they met by accident and decided to hang out together, instead of being planned.

  28. Mindy
    February 6, 2021 / 5:05 am

Love the unexpected, fun necklace with the raspberry (?) slacks! I’d be sporting a smile with this outfit!

  29. Natasha
    February 6, 2021 / 4:57 am

It’s attractive but the jacket looks a bit heavy for the pants and I know I am totally alone in this but I find white shirts very matronly. The necklace gives it an 80’s vibe to me. I would pair the coat with a dark rinse skinny jean, striped turtleneck and chunky booties.

    February 6, 2021 / 4:53 am

I like the look of the outfit. I just read last night that the “bathrobe” look was trending for 2021 with a tie jacket or cardigan. I’m not sure I would wear the jacket though. I’ve not had the best of luck with a tie cardigan and it seems to “bulk” around the waist. It may be the double breasted look that I’m just not quite sure. This may be something I need to actually buy and try on to see what I discover. I would wear the pants in a different color since that’s not a color I wear. I like the white tunic and would wear it with a signature necklace or a scarf.

and probably a bright pink scarf and pink or white hoop earrings.

The outfit just doesn’t sit well with me as designed here. I’d I prefer the pant in dark denim, the packet in deep rosy pink and no necklace, maybe a bright blue/ rosy scarf ?
In keeping the deep rose pant with the white shirt alone, neither a pretty print silky scarf I’d be very happy .

I LOVE that coat! It looks so crisp and springy with the white blouse under it. I’m not a real pink person but I’d wear it with a lime green or even yellow pants.

Lime green pants sound so fun
