Happy Saturdays ladies. We are counting down the weeks until Christmas at our house. I know, I know…Thanksgiving comes first and I hate to rush the seasons but the older my grandson gets the more fun it is to experience life through his eyes. The holidays are brighter for me when seen through the eyes of a child. And when it’s a child I love to distraction… all the better.

It’s time for would you wear it. Each Saturday Pam Lutrell of Over 50Feeling 40 and I share a mannequin we have found and ask if you would wear what she’s wearing. Please share why or why not you would wear this.

I’m mostly interested in the jacket. Here’s a closeup…faux lambskin biker jacket from Nordstrom

So tell us ladies, would you wear this faux lambskin jacket and why or why not as it applies to your style.

Here are the weekend sale updates:

Chico’s– 25% off full priced styles with code 78924

Nordstrom– Fall sale up to 40% off

Ann Taylor – 40% off all full price pants, denim, and sweaters and an extra 40% off sale with the code NEWOUTFIT.

Now let’s go see what Pam’s mannequin is wearing here.

Have a great Saturday!

Hi Jennifer! Yes, yes and yes. Love the entire look. That jacket is wonderful and guts my style (I’m retired but out and about every day )! Love dark wash jeans, booties and with this jacket, wow! I might switch out the scarf for a coordinating plaid or paisley…that would be the only change!

I wouldn’t wear this jacket because I’m not fond of the color or the fit. It seems too big & boxy. The colors & texture of the sweater underneath it are also quite distracting. So perhaps it would look better with a different top.

I agree. I don’t know why they think the sweater underneath should be paired with the jacket. With a bulky jacket I wouldn’t be looking to have a bulky shirt underneath!

I like it and would definitely try it on! The design of the jacket is really nice. Thanks Jennifer!

Yes I would! I have a couple faux fur jackets and really enjoy them. I like this one because it is a different material than I have seen before, I like the colour and the short easy style is something I would wear often especially with jeans.

I’d wear it if it got cold enough! But not with that sweater underneath. Could be a fun jacket!

  6. November 17, 2018 / 4:38 am

No I don’t like the jacket at all! the jeans are okay, but the boots I could not wear.

I would not wear it bc it seems way too full and fluffy on top, which is not what I need for my body type. I have a biker-style jacket that is a smoother fabric and does not visually add weight.

Would not wear that look. Don’t like the color of the jacket and it is too boxy for me. Not fond of the entire look. My largest part is around the middle and that look seems to make that part bigger!!!

No, I don’t like the jacket at all. How about a nice fitted navy pea coat?

The jacket looks like someone slept in it. I prefer something more fitted and classic looking. I like the jeans and booties, but the sweater is way too colorful for me. I wouldn’t wear this jacket.

Just not my cup of tea…don’t like the look or the fabric. I could definitely see it on someone else!

Interesting jacket design ~ somewhat of a biker look w/asymmetrical zipper and pocket zippers in black on DULL burgundy! Would like to see it zipped up for a more fitted look. However, I couldn’t wear it either way; it’s too short for my taste. Perhaps Jennifer’s model could use it to cover up her bare arms & coordinate with the print. Not crazy about the furry sweater under the jacket as it seems to clash w/burgundy! It’s a NO for me….

The hem of this jacket falls in the wrong place for my triangle shape, so this is a no. Add to that the “leggings as pants” look: a double no for triangle shapes.

I have 2 vintage lambskin coats that I could sell every time I wear them!

I love the jacket and jeans, not thrilled with whatever it is that is under the jacket, but that can be quickly remedied. The jacket is a fun twist on a leather jacket, and a little more feminine with the color and the texture of the jacket is interesting, and since it is a “faux” lamb skin, it is probably not as heavy as a leather jacket. I have a problem with heavy jackets, I can’t get comfortable in them.

I don’t like the sweater underneath either! And I’m not sure about all the texture, as it adds bulk. I like the color though so I would try it on- but I have short jackets I like better so it’s going to have to be a real winner for me to part with my $$!

Sometimes I think the mannequin dressers just put whatever is close by on the mannequins! This outfit is definitely not me in any way, shape or form! Call me a traditionalist and give me some classic Chanel-ish clothing!

If you look behind and to the left of the model, you can see the sweater and jacket hanging on the rack. So, you’re right! They just combined what was displayed close by without thought to fabric, style or colour.

I kind of like it and think it could look classy zipped. I wonder if the color is really dull or just looks that way with the totally mismatched scarf or sweater underneath.

I think it’s fun! And, I like fun! I would wear it over a column of black. It does seem oversized though and that is not a look that I can wear but perhaps the model is just wearing a larger size then needed. If I sized down to a better fit, yes, I would wear it. Pair that with slim black jeans and turtleneck with a leopard belt and bam! You’re rocking! We all have days when we feel this way, don’t we? As Cyndi Lauper sang – Girls Just Want To

I would wear the jacket and jeans — a fun look. But I would pair it with a lighter weight (not bulky) top; or, if that is a scarf (I can’t tell for sure), then I would use a less “fuzzy” scarf because it detracts from the plushness of the jacket (in my opinion).

I like this jacket and would wear it. Zipped up I think it would fit well. The soft white sweater underneath goes well with it but I would change the scarf to a colour that coordinates and is more my style. I like the details of the jacket!

It looks warm. I like it, but I’m not crazy about the color.

  23. Debbie Burke

No, I wouldn’t wear it. It looks a little too much like a bathrobe to me, and I definitely don’t like it with the scarf. I read the Nordstrom reviews of the jacket and they are mixed. One person said it made her look like a “linebacker.” It would probably be better suited to a thin-ish type person.

I like the colour! And the texture and shape. I wanna try it!

  25. Becky
    November 17, 2018 / 11:07 am

While I like the shape of the jacket, I don’t care for the fabric. It has been my experience this type of fabric tends to look matted & dingy after being worn a few times, especially in the rain or snow.

I like the jacket and the jeans. But I don’t think that scarf is a very good accessory with this outfit. The texture is too similar to the jacket and shade of red really clashes with the color of the jacket. Otherwise, I’m good with this!

I like everything about this look. The jacket is so great for this time of year, and I love it paired with the dark wash jeans and boots. The only think that I do not like is the striped scarf under the jacket. I am not sure why, but I think it cheapens the look. I would find another great coordinating scarf to replace it with.

Yes! I like biker jackets….and I like faux fur! So, this is a win-win combo! I hope we start to see more of these jacket in many different colors.

The only items of clothing I would take from this mannequin, are the leggings. Not crazy about the boot style, would wear a different style of boots with them. The jacket is too much for my top heavy body. It would make my already too big chest, appear that much larger. I think it would be real cute on someone with the opposite of my body shape.

No, no, no….although I would be in my 20’s. It looks cheap and tacky.

Probably not…..just would not flatter. It looks overwhelming and the colors are not my best.

Love the color and texture of the jacket, but the style is too boxy for my shape. I would wear that jacket if it had more definition in the waist area. I am not fond of the colors of the scarf that they have with it. Everyone likes something different, but I would like my colors to blend together.

I would wear the jacket. I’m all about jackets and this one is a beautiful color and looks cozy and modern. The jeans look waaay too tight. Whatever that is under the jacket, no just no.

There are pockets all over with zippers, then one with a flap? What are those loops doing below the bottom pockets? And then an asymmetrical zipper? Nope, way too busy. Curly lamb is better in a simpler style jacket, allowing its texture to stand out. I think curly lamb is elegant, would probably offer to by Sophia’s up above! I don’t care for the sweater at all. Black leggings and black ankle boots together are always great!
