Would You Wear It for Spring

Would You Wear It for Spring

Happy Saturday and welcome to the weekend. It’s time for would you wear it. Each Saturday, my friend Pam and I share a mannequin we have run across and ask if you would wear what it’s wearing. We choose these at random and don’t give our opinions because we want to know what you think.floral wrap dress from Nordstrom

Don”t care for florals or short sleeves…but if I had to wear it,…I would shorten it and add a white or cream jacket and belt for summer…. Or even navy jacket. No flats but wedge sandals….they make us all look taller and slimmer.

  2. April 14, 2019 / 2:10 am

I have a similar wrap dress and overall love it. Mine is plain black, and if there’s anything I don’t like about this one it’s the floral print. I just don’t do florals. No reason. Just never met a floral I wanted to wear.

I do love the dress (on a mannequin) The “V” neck is always more flattering for us bigger busted women.
I always try to like and wear florals or busy prints and ultimately end up switching to a solid. Just my comfort zone

There is nothing about this dress I wouldn’t want to wear…it’s a great dress but I no longer work dresses into my wardrobe. I just don’t need them….and I plan to wear pants to church on Easter Sunday!!! In one year, dresses have been phased out of my wardrobe bc my workplace mandated casual uniforms. It would look great with a red blazer in order to incorporate it into the “suit” look if you needed to do that. I miss dresses but it is what it is.

Love it, but borders on too girly for me. I am not a fan of the delicate layered necklaces as they would get lost on my body.

This dress really appeals to me. I love the pattern and color and I think the cut is lovely and feminine.

    Very nice!

I like the dress, but wouldn’t buy it because I prefer longer sleeves and I won’t wear polyester above the waist (too hot and stinky). I do love the below knee length.

    • April 13, 2019 / 7:06 pm

Polyester is pretty hot on me too

I love navy and I would try this dress on. I don’t wear sleeveless so the flouncy sleeves would work for me and the v neck is flattering. The print is small and attractive. I would wear it with red or navy accessories and would add a navy belt. It would be perfect with my navy and cream sling back heels as well as cute flats or sandals and a straw bag for hot summer days.

While I don’t wear dresses much anymore, I do like this dress. The floral print is not overwhelming & the length is appropriate for me. The sleeves are a bit shorter than I like. I think adding some colorful accessories would be my choice. I might add a red flat or sandal & a bracelet.

  10. April 13, 2019 / 10:58 am

Love it but would not wear it; I never wear dresses, they’re not flattering on my body shape !

    April 13, 2019 / 9:45 am

I don’t care for this dress, not too sure why. I don’t like flutter sleeves for one thing.

  12. Rose Brock
    April 13, 2019 / 9:02 am

I like this dress. I don’t wear dresses often but would definitely try this one on. I like florals as long as they are not over the top. I’m glad that it’s not sleeveless!

    • April 13, 2019 / 7:06 pm

I agree Rose. Bravo for sleeves

  13. Rose
    April 13, 2019 / 8:56 am

I like this dress. I don’t wear dresses often but if I needed to purchase one I would definitely try this on. I like florals if not over the top.

I absolutely love it – a perfect summer dress…comfortable to wear! One of my favorite colors as well!

    April 13, 2019 / 8:46 am

I would not wear it. In general I like wrap styles and V necks are flattering on me, but I don’t like the floral print and I dislike flutter sleeves.

Nothing about this dress works for me, so I’d pass it by without a second look. It feels awkward to criticize this dress, it’s done nothing wrong, and I feel kind of rude, but you asked so here goes!

I have an oval face and a pointed chin, and for some reason V-necks look terrible on me, despite the usual advice to wear them.

Wide shoulders make flutter sleeves look ridiculous on me.

My coloring is medium-contrast and a bit sallow, so black and white are never a good choice.

The older you get, the more abstract your prints should get, IMO. For a woman in her mid-50s, this floral print is too childlike. I’m sure a lot of that comes down to personal taste, but I wouldn’t have worn this type of floral even in my 20s. Even then I preferred a more abstract print.

I dislike self-belts, they always seem cheaply made and never work *with* the dress. This dress needs a belt, but since I’m not attracted to the style, I can’t seem to summon the energy to imagine what sort of belt actually would work.

The length would work fine for some people, I’m sure. I prefer a dress a bit shorter, or perhaps I’d prefer myself to be a bit taller than my own 5’5″ — ha! This would likely hit below the knee by an inch or two, and would look dowdy rather than spring-y.

OK, all that negativity feels unpleasant to me. Maybe I should go fetch a nice pic of what I love, so I can say something positive to balance it out. 😉

This dress is ok, but nothing special. For Spring, I’d prefer a lighter blue, maybe aqua.

  18. Sharon
    April 13, 2019 / 8:29 am

Yes, for all of the above reasons, I will check it out.

  19. April 13, 2019 / 8:07 am

No I would not. I don’t do much with patterns and especially not florals. Neither do I wear dresses much any more.

  20. Kathy Burke
    April 13, 2019 / 7:55 am

Yup! This one’s for me. The V neckline would make me look taller and it looks so comfortable. I no longer wear anything uncomfortable no matter how it looks.

  21. Tina
    April 13, 2019 / 7:48 am

I would wear this dress, but would add some bright flat sandals and necklace. I don’t wear many florals, but since this isn’t a bright floral could see it making its way to my closet.

  22. Susan Gowan
    April 13, 2019 / 7:09 am

I like the style of this. But would prefer more vibrant colours or maybe jazz it up with a brighter jacket. Love the sleeves and the length and neckline of this dress.

  23. Betty sc
    April 13, 2019 / 6:53 am

This comfy appearing dress would look great on my tall thin friend, but alas would not do a thing for my older arms, pear shaped torso ….not to mention I think the large flower print would make me look like a weed garden??

  24. Anon
    April 13, 2019 / 6:29 am

    Yes.Perfect length.

  25. RoseAG
    April 13, 2019 / 6:27 am

No. I have a small chest and those wrap tops never fit right.

  26. Beth Hedger
    April 13, 2019 / 6:19 am

I like the print on this dress and the style is nice. For me, the sleeves are definitely a “no.”

  27. ULI
    April 13, 2019 / 6:09 am

Yes, I would wear the Dress. I like everything about it.the colours, the sleeves ,the v neck and the length. If I wear a Dress, it is one like this.

    April 13, 2019 / 5:59 am

I love this dress, think it would be a great summer dress. I am about 5’7” so it would be a good style for me, I think. What brand is it so I can check it out!

    • April 13, 2019 / 7:04 pm

I’m not sure of the brand but I found it in Nordstrom

    April 13, 2019 / 5:58 am

Love this dress, in this colour the pattern is not offensive, the sleeves are a bit short for my aging arms!!! but a light cardigan would remedy it, in all a yes.

    April 13, 2019 / 5:56 am

I love everything about this dress and already own a similar one. I’m tall and thin and love the way it feels floaty and feminine. A dress like this is great in the hot, humid South where I live.

  31. Merri
    April 13, 2019 / 5:48 am

Good sunny morning! I am drawn to navy & white especially for summer and like this dress. It is a flattering neck & hemline. I agree with many the pattern might not be my first choice.

  32. Lori Stewart
    April 13, 2019 / 5:44 am

I love this dress and would happily wear it. I love a wrap dress, and the fabric looks as it is is light and would drape nicely. The darker color would be appropriate for a dinner out or a business meeting if paired with a blazer.

  33. Linda
    April 13, 2019 / 5:36 am

I like this look. If I still wore dresses often, I would wear this one. I would probably need a cami for more coverage over ‘the girls.’

  34. Barb
    April 13, 2019 / 5:25 am

I actually liked it and would wear it. What store is this from? I could not find a link for it. Let me know. Thanks : )

  35. Eileen
    April 13, 2019 / 5:12 am

Style wise, with some tweaks, slightly longer sleeves, and more A lined shape, I’m a pear, a line gives more room, I might. I looked it up, it’s polyester, so I wouldn’t buy it, and at the price , it’s probably too cheap for a useful staple.

  36. Marc
    April 13, 2019 / 5:08 am

Yes, I like it very much. Nice sleeves. Like the colors and pattern.

    Where did you find this???

    April 13, 2019 / 5:07 am

I would wear it, I don’t usually wear florals but it’s subtle and neutral so I like it. I love the style of the dress and the sleeves. I think it would be flattering on me, I have a small waist so I like dresses that are more fitted at the waist. I also like the layered gold necklaces with it. I can’t tell the style of the purse, but the light neutral color is perfect for spring and I would probably wear my light neutral wedge sandals with the outfit.

    • April 13, 2019 / 7:03 pm

      Thanks for explaining Linda

    April 13, 2019 / 4:58 am

I love wrap dresses but not this one. I don’t like the sleeves or the print. I prefer straight 3/4 sleeves. I have 2 new wrap dresses waiting for warm weather. I usually wear them with a jean jacket or a shrug. I don’t like what I see of the purse.

  39. Leslie
    April 13, 2019 / 4:55 am

I like this dress. I would wear it. Floral prints seem to be everywhere and I’m starting to like them. To me this is a dress that would look good on many people. It looks nice and cool for summer as well.

  40. April 13, 2019 / 4:50 am

I actually like this dress. I usually don’t wear dresses at all, but I like the v neck on this one, and the color and floral print is nice. I cannot tell if it is black or navy, but I would wear either color.

  41. Susan
    April 13, 2019 / 4:36 am

I live in a capital city where the recent summer temperature hit 116.6 F. When it is that hot, I don’t care if the sleeves are short and wrap dresses (with a v neck) suit my body shape, e Normally I don’t wear florals, but in summer I make an exception. So yes, I would wear the above dress, but would pair it with flat sandals for a casual, summer look.

    • April 13, 2019 / 5:53 am

Flat sandals are a great way to wear it

  42. Sheila Porter
    April 13, 2019 / 4:34 am

Probably would walk right by. To the solid colours. Cute, but not for 5’ moi

  43. Sue G
    April 13, 2019 / 4:27 am

Hi Pam! Yes, I would wear this dress – the style would be flattering for my body shape (short hourglass) and could be worn with a jacket for work or a shawl for church or a night out. And the print could be spiced up with a bright necklace and cute sandals! Good find!

  44. Julie
    April 13, 2019 / 4:26 am

I would wear this if I did not have a “menopot” belly (so no, I could not wear it!)

  45. Janet
    April 13, 2019 / 4:23 am

I would and have worn this dress style which is flattering for my pear shape but the pattern on this one is a bit dark and drab for me. I would need more colour and an interesting pattern.

    • April 13, 2019 / 5:51 am

      Thanks for sharing why Janet

Jennifer Where did you find this???
        From Marce

        • April 13, 2019 / 3:51 pm

          This is from Nordstrom Marce

  46. April 13, 2019 / 4:17 am

I’m not attracted to this dress at all. I don’t like florals, in general.

  47. April 13, 2019 / 3:37 am

It’s a cute dress, but I do not think I would try it on because I typically am not attracted to floral prints or sleeves this short. But the styling of the mannequin is well done and the dress would be cute with flat sandals…

    • April 13, 2019 / 5:50 am

      Thanks Pam. Happy Saturday.
