Would You Wear It- Navy and White Dress

Happy Saturday ladies and welcome to the weekend. Each Saturday my friend Pam and I share a mannequin we’ve seen and ask whether you would wear what it’s wearing.

We’re often surprised at how stores dress their mannequins and we choose ours at random.

So tell me, ladies, would you wear this and why or why not.

Does it fit your lifestyle and body silhouette?

The Memorial Day sales are usually epic and many stores are ramping up early. Here are the current sale updates:

Banana Republic – up to 40% off select styles & extra 40% off sale – free shipping with code BRSHIP

J.Crew – 35% off wear now styles, online only with the code HISUMMER.

Macy’s – sales throughout the store

Neiman Marcus – up to 40% off select shoes

Cole Haan – an extra 40% off sale

Chico’s – 40% off tees, crops, shorts, and dresses

Talbots – 30% off tees and crops including denim

Ann Taylor – 50% 0ff 2 full priced tops and 40% off 1 top

Now let’s pop over to see what Pam’s mannequin is wearing here.

Thanks for reading and have a great day.

I do like the center outfit. The striped skirt is a good length for me!
I like the white jean jacket too, but might like it just a tad shorter? I’d have to try it on…..
On the other two mannequins….I would definitely try on the varied stripe dress (is that grey?). It might work. On the right….I’m not a fan of florals at all(yes, I realize they are really popular now). I just don’t like me in florals…..

I like the gray striped dress in the back. With a cute jacket that would be the best fit for my body type. The navy one is just not a good shape for me that would be flattering and I would not even try it on….simply because it would not flatter me!

I love all three looks and would definitely wear them. Blue and white is one of my favorite summer combinations, so crisp and clean. The lines/styles of all three dresses seem flattering and they would be a great addition to my summer wardrobe. The white denim jacket is a great touch, but as someone else said, they might like it a little shorter, and so would I.

I like fit and flare dresses, but knit ones don’t have enough structure for my shape. I looked online, and the fit on the models isn’t great, armholes are big and white band doesn’t sit on the waist, looks like the top is cut small as well.

I would not wear the middle dress with the jacket. The skirt is too full and the jacket is overwhelming for the dress. However, the dress on the left is for me! I like the stripes, the fitted waist and the asymmetrical hem. I would definitely try it on. The dress on the right is too short for me. Happy Saturday!

I find the way mannequins are Styled to be pretty entertaining. Their combos are unique

Would definitely not wear it. The length is great, but having that line of demarcation right at my waist, which is the largest part of me, would be a disaster! The gray one I might try but it looks like it might be a wrap dress, and whenever I wear one, the wind is always blowing the wrong way 😉 Can’t see enough of the floral to make a comment.

I have the same problem with wrap dresses 🙂

I would not wear the wrap dress or the outfit in the middle. At 63 years of age, my waist isn’t what it used to be. I wear clothes which skim over my middle, not define it. The white jean jacket looks like it’s too big and I don’t like the fit.

I like the skirt on the middle mannequin and would wear it. Agree the white jacket is too long. I would also wear the grey dress – with a jacket, it would work at my office. The flowered dress is likely a pass for me – too short and I prefer a more fitted style.

Thanks Susan. I thought it was a skirt in the center outfit too…but it’s a dress

I love the clean, crisp look of blue & white for summer. I don’t currently wear skirts or dresses, but if I did, I’d wear any of these outfits.

I actually like both of these outfits. I agree that a shorter jacket might be better. Now just because I like them doesn’t mean I could wear them. If the grey surplice-top isn’t cut generously, the ‘girls’ wouldn’t fit. I would most likely wear the stripe dress, but only with some sort of a jacket. It looks easy-breezy for warm weather.

I tend to stay away from stripes but this one might be worth trying- the Jean jacket is nice maybe a little smaller or fitted would accentuate the waist.
The wrap dress is perfect although I would agree with someone else who would need to try it on to make sure the girls were covered.

These outfits are adorable. Probably wouldn’t look great on me because of my pear shape but they are super cute.

I like the white with blue combination with a white denim jacket. I wouldn’t wear any of them because I will not wear dresses or skirts above the knee. I like them just below the knee.

I like the outfit in the middle. The jacket would have to be a better fit. The dress on the right is cute but might be too short. The striped dress is cute. I would wear it with some kind of jacket or sweater. I don’t really wear sleeveless anymore.

I like both outfits. I already own a white jean jacket that suits me well so I’d be looking through the racks for the dress and/or the skirt. Someone at work has a similar skirt and it is good for three seasons. She wears it with dark stockings in cooler months and bare legs in summer.

I love the navy and white but I’m drawn to the dress with the white jeans jacket the most. I’m big on top and small on the bottom, so dresses never work but a skirt like this would be great. I might try the stipe dress but my shape would veto it. The floral is cute and simple and short, so it’s a no.

Love navy and white and would wear these. I like the jean jacket trend as well. They are so versatile.

Love the jacket but dresses and skirts do not fit my current lifestyle

I think there is a dress here that most women would look good in. The jacket is all wrong(where is the display artist?). Long jackets are current but not with these dresses. A shorter cropped one would be a better option, perhaps a color or navy?
For me, I like the print, if only it was a little longer——.

Yes, Lucretia, you nailed it! These dresses are wearable for real women. Cute and modern but not “gimmicky”. Like I said, wearable.

I really like all three outfits: the color, the skirt length, the shape, the necklines, vertical and diagonal stripes… While I love a white denim jacket in the summer, this one seems a bit overwhelming, not sure if it’s the cut, the length or maybe it’s just too big for the mannequin? I’d need to see how it looked for my body frame

Nothing really “wrong” with any of the dresses, but none are “my style”. Not a fan of the too-bare look of the wrap dress (cut too low, and don’t like so much skin showing with a sleeveless dress). The vertical lines on the center outfit are too bold for my taste, and I would personally prefer a more classic jean look jacket. The mandarin collar and too-large buttons aren’t my fancy. Overall not bad, but I would probably end up choosing something more suited to my personal taste (if I could find something like it in the store).

Although I am a fan of Navy and White this look just doesn’t appeal to me. On the other hand I love both the dresses in the background and would wear either. I probably wouldn’t put the jeans jacket with either of them as I think they both need softer look.

Fellow stylish readers, I agree with many of you about the jacket overwhelming the dress— a different combo would be better.
I like the asymmetrical great pinstriped dress but if I am going to wear a dress I want something brighter or swisher.
