Would You Wear It-Quilted

Happy Saturday and Labor Day weekend! It’s time for would you wear it so grab a cup of your favorite coffee, tea, or pumpkin latte and let’s have some fun with fashion.

Each week my friend Pam and I share a mannequin we’ve spotted and ask if you would wear what it’s modeling. I also ask you to tell me how you would style it to work for your lifestyle.

So what are your thoughts? Is it a color you wear? How about the shapes? Does the style work for your lifestyle?

As always you can click on the red highlighted text under each item for more details and to shop

I would wear the outfit, but not in that color. It’s essentially the same color as my skin, so would completely wash me out. I have a similar quilted jacket in navy, which I will wear once the temperatures drop below 55 degrees F. The addition of a hoodie and sweatpants makes everything cozy.

Love the monochromatic look of this outfit. The color is appealing to me and I could picture wearing it. The price of the jacket is a bit too steep for my budget, but otherwise I like it.

Because the pants are ankle length I’d wear them with booties which I think would look cute.

I love s little quilted jacket. I have several. I don’t know about that color though. That is a great outfit.

I like quilted jackets, I look for petite sizing, fitted waist, pack able down, zip up and zipper pockets if possible, I wear hip , or mid thigh length the most. This doesn’t fit my criteria. Oh well…

Not fond of the outfit, so probably wouldn’t wear but I would try it on as I’ve learned that it doesn’t hang the same on me as it does the hanger and happy accidents abound!

Thank you for your posts while you’ve been away. You said today (Sept. 5th) that we must be getting bored of seeing you in the same clothes. On the contrary, it is refreshing to see how you keep pairing the different clothing articles for new looks. I typically do one or two trips to Europe (pre-covid, of course), and have a difficult time scaling back on what I pack. I try to jam it all in a carry on, as Europe isn’t friendly when you are traveling alone with a lot of luggage! I lay everything on the bed and if it doesn’t make at least 3 outfits, it doesn’t get to go. Planning ahead is difficult for me because I usually pick my day’s outfit based on my mood (or what I have going on at work that day). So planning for 2 or 3 weeks is tough.

Thanks for all your informative posts!

When flying anywhere, I take carry-on only so there are even more wardrobe repeats and I pack a lot of neutrals and black. It really is a challenge. Sometimes, creativity creates “happy accidents” for me too:)

One garment from your trip that received no comments is the personal flotation device (PFD) you wore in the kayak. First of all, it’s great that you had it on. It can be — literally — a life saver.

I would have like to have seen your PFD fitted a little better. Take a moment to tighten the straps so that if you grab the PFD by the shoulders and pull up, it stays put. Your life is worth the time it takes to adjust the PFD.

Kayaking is so much fun — I’m glad you got out.

I have several quilted jackets and several vests which are great for our Fla. weather. It get very cold in the mornings but warm by noon,so layers are good. However, long quilted puffer, etcs. are just too heavy and warm unless one is go skiing!

I like quilted jackets and coats, however I am picky about the style and color. I would not wear the short tan jacket. The style would not flattering me, and the color is pretty blah to me. I avoid anything that makes me look heavy or is too masculine. One that I have is a longer bomber-style jacket in burgundy velvet which I got from Target two years ago. I will never part with it as I love it. Whenever I wear it, I get comments and questions. The longer length makes it more versatile. I have a couple of short quilted jackets that are light and perfect for transitional weather. One is from Uniqlo and is in ivory and the other is reversible (black – leopard print) from Chico’s. And my fave is my Burberry short black quilted jacket. I also have two long quilted coats for really cold weather.

Love the colour and yes I would wear it. It is winter coming into spring in Australia and after recent shoulder surgery because of the light weight of these jackets they have been my go to for the past 6 weeks, I do have a number of them that I regularly use in the cooler weather

I love the style of the jacket, but not the color. While it is a great neutral, the color would not be a good match for my fair skin. The outfit overall looks very comfy, but again not my color. Maybe black pants would be a better choice.

Do like the jacket’s style as have similar (but not the high price) and its proven to be very versatile for the climate I live in. (Canada) Wear it mostly in the Fall and even added a detachable hood , to get more miles out of it as casual wear. ((Briefly; used the removable hood off of my winter coat (same colour/almost same stitching pattern) and applied velcro where needed to both.)) Whereas, due to its fit and fabric have also worn it occasionally under a faux fur ‘n leather hooded sleeveless vest, during mild winter days. As to its color I feel being a neutral gives one the opportunity to wear a selection of contrasting colors in both garments and accessories. Re the coat; love its color however would prefer if it had a two-way zipper rather than a series of snaps which IMHO would make it less utilitarian sporty. -Brenda-

Yes, I would wear to jacket. The color is good and would go well with many colors. The pants are a no because I don’t like the band at the bottom. This reminds me of a mild day at a ski lodge (with boots) kinda look. The jacket would be good for everyday casual. The longer rust-colored jacket would get more use because of the length.
Pams looks are good today too. The purple and white outfit I would wear because I prefer solid colors.
You are really good at keeping up with your posts no matter where you are. I know it’s all online but it still requires time. Thanks

I prefer longer jackets, the cold air will blow right up that short jacket.

The colour of the jacket is too blah to go with pants which I like. They are too short shown here.
At least they could have put on a different colour to go with the pants.
Always enjoy your posts Jennifer, keeps me inspired.

The jacket is too short and the color too drab for my taste…and did I mention that the price was way too high? This is certainly a versatile piece (in a longer length and bolder color) but I can’t imagine spending that much on a fairly basic piece available from a number of companies at a far better price. The pants are also too short for my taste…I’m okay with the cuffed bottom to fit my somewhat petite legs but if it’s cold enough to need a quilted jacket I need full length pants!

I would wear the jacket but not in that color. The color is too drab & would not look good on me.
