Would You Wear It?

Happy Saturday ladies. Grab a cup of your favorite cup of tea or coffee and let’s have some fun with fashion.

I’m having decaf pumpkin spice tea and burning coffee-scented candles. A little tidbit about me, I am obsessed with the smell of coffee, but seldom drink it.

As always, you can click the red highlighted text under each item for more info and to get shopping details.

Each week my friend Pam and I share a mannequin and ask if you would wear what it’s modeling. I love for you to also share your thoughts on how you would style it to work for your shape and lifestyle.

WEARING –  BLAZER   –  WHITE SHIRT  –  LEATHER BELT  –  LEOPARD DRESS

So what are your thoughts? Would you wear this?

I love to see Banana Republic styles are going back towards their roots in the last few collections. Love it or hate it, it’s refreshing because they were becoming very homogenized and losing their uniqueness.

I love this look and would definitely wear this whole outfit! I am tall and think I can pull it off.

with gold earrings and necklace ..

    “I had a farm in Africa…”

I sense nostalgia in fall fashion. I like it.

I love everything about this outfit but I personally would swap out the shirt for a v neck tee shirt as I have generous bust and need a bit simpler neckline . Crisp white sneakers to ground the lighter skirt!

Unfortunately, I just checked and the quilted jacket in olive at Nordstrom is not on their Canadian website. Sure is a good deal though. Definitely thinking fall now that we’re having some much needed rain on Vancouver Island and the foliage is changing colour🍁

I love the combination of colours on the mannequin you chose…tan, black, with leopard print. I have all of these in tops, jackets, sweater, and even one pair of loafers. Just wear them differently , which works on my body.
BUT…Only one item of leopard print worn at a time.
Can you imagine if I were to wear about three at once…I might be shot by a big game hunter…or the fashion police! 😀

You introduced me to Chico’s , Jennifer, and I have had some excellent results from online purchases. One return was a paperwork nightmare, and after I did the math, the pants will be donated instead. Way too much money going to DHL.

I know the shipping for Canadians is a nightmare. I’m sorry

I don’t do double breasted, belted, or animal print, but the colors are nice.

I love this as outfit inspiration. It’s pretty classic if you consider animal print a neutral. I’d go for a single breasted blazer (less bulk around the waist), a buttoned and tucked white/cream shirt, blouse or T and a knee-length or midi skirt.

No, I would not wear that outfit. I love animal prints, but the skirt is too long and the rest seems “too buttoned up” for me. I prefer a more relaxed style. Also, I don’t wear belts at the present time. The blazer seems more of a work look, particularly with the white shirt.

Oh gosh (swooning here) — I adore this outfit and it is definitely one I would have been able to easily pull off 20 years ago. Not so much now.

That being said, I so want to tailor this look to fit my body now. Love the animal print skirt with the camel blazer. In fact, I am going to use this mannequin as a reference point for outfits this fall. Love the mix of colors and layers. Gorgeous!!!

Much to much material for short people. A single button camel blazer with the white shirt and jeans with animal print flats would work for me. I like the jeans outfit it’s glittery sneakers.

I am only 5’4″, so I would have preferred the skirt at a shorter length. I do like the camel with the animal print skirt.

This outfit is too busy for me personally. I like classics, so a camel blazer and white button down shirt are two pieces I have and wear. But, if I had this blazer, I would remove those gold buttons. I like leopard in small amounts, such as accessories (belt, shoes, etc), this skirt is too much animal print for me, especially in this length.

I love it. I would shorten the skirt a bit. It looks like a maxi. I would prefer a midi length. I would wear some heavy textured tights with a lug soled loafer or bootie. Because of the bulk of the outfit, it would be very important that it fit perfectly!

Thanks for showing the ‘duplicate’ belt! I have been looking for one, and this is perfect. Thinking of adding an impulse ‘pumpkin’ sweater that is WAY out of my usual style, but it’s fun-looking and today of all days while we pray for those gone, I think we could all use a mental lift.

There’s too much going on in this outfit . If you wear animal print on the bottom half, wear plain on top. The jacket?. Get rid of the belt and the buttons and round out the lapels. Wear a knit top instead of frilly white blouse. Black leggings instead of the skirt. Obviously, I am a plain dresser.

This is a hard no for me. Too many layers make it look uncomfortable, and for my 5″1″ body I would be swimming in this outfit. Perhaps it would look great on a tall woman.

I love this look, namely because of the way it is layered; however with that said as fond as I am wearing blazers, it would be a no for this one. Namely because of its cut which IMHO dictates a perfect fit with its positioning of it darts. Secondly I do not care for the brass buttons and their location nor am I fond of the accentuated peak wing lapel. Also I would change out the belt to the one you featured the other day (in a cognac color) and top the ensemble off with a pair of suede booties and a cross-body handbag or an unstructured tote.

Your blog re-introduced me to Banana Republic– after decades!–and I impulse bought three great pieces and a tote. Comfy fabrics with a bit of stretch, fast shipping (mine was free), and a cinnamon Hue 182 Essential Layering Tank I would not have considered had I not seen it on you. You’re right about their back-to-their-roots unique styles. Also, love animal print…in small doses.

What is this? Out of Africa?! Are we going on safari? This rates as a costume, not an outfit.

Being short waisted and five feet I’d look at this display and know I was in the wrong department. I do find their petites to be more suited to business attire and unfortunately don’t often reflect the styles found in their more casual regular lines.
