Would You Wear This? How Would You Style It

Happy Wednesday ladies. Grab another cup of your favorite coffee or tea and let’s have some fun with fashion.

I am having one of the best London Fogs I have had in a very long time, at Woods Coffee. They’re a local coffeehouse chain based in the Pacific Northwest, and make a really good one!

I wasn’t able to try on what this week’s mannequin was wearing so we have a regular would you wear it today. Please share if and how you would wear what these mannequins are wearing. Do the colors work for you? How about the shapes?

These are from Macy’s

What are your thoughts?

Here are a few mid-week sales-

NORDSTROM – keeps going strong with many things still in stock. The website continues to say things are sold out when they aren’t so you can usually just click and add to the basket. Here are some great beauty buys on my radar from the sale.

GAP – take an extra 20% off sale with the code SUNNY

J. CREW – an extra 60% off sale

ATHLETA – semi-annual sale with up to 60% off

LOFT – an extra 60% off all sale

Thanks for reading ladies and remember to wear what makes you feel confident.

I like the striped top but would want to try it on to make sure that when I raise my arms the waist doesn’t rise up as well. No longer have the patience to be constantly tugging at my clothing to make sure it stays where it belongs. Don’t care for the flare on the pants. Would totally not even “see “the other outfit as it isn’t something I’d wear.

I love your post and style but your photo with caption…Would you wear this? How would you style it?…hooked me in. Yes, the to-go cup of coffee is the most popular fashion accessory on the street today!

I wouldn’t wear these because of the colors. I also have broad shoulders and avoid these type so sleeves which make them look wider. The dress would show every lump and bump and I’m not crazy about the knot of the dress so I’d pass on it too.
They’d look great on many women, not me and likely not an inverted triangle body shape. 🙂

Outfit on left, small fuchsia scarf tied at neck… brown boots or shoes that match scarf.

    No on the peach pants.

I love the colors of the top on the left! It’s a very different combination of colors. It’s crying out for some kind of necklace. I’d probably go for a gold long pendant of some sort, or, I just looked at the outfits again…the necklace on the right would look great with the outfit on the left! Or maybe something a little bigger.

I’m not big on the peach pants. I don’t like the flare or the color. But…with the top, I think it works. I would wear it.
The other outfit, no. I wouldn’t wear that. Not a good color for me, and the top is too clingy and long. With the pants underneath, and that sweater type top, it seems like it would be too hot for summer, even if it is sleeveless.

I’d maybe give the cropped peach pants a try, but with a white shirt or tee. I dislike the top shown with it. As for the other outfit I don’t understand why you’d wear pants with a dress on top, if it’s hot enough to go sleeveless then it’s too hot for pants under a dress, IMO

I’m a thumbs down on all peach colored pants. I prefer a slim cut crop and find the flare a bit awkward for me. All I can say is that the bold striped top is not me.
Now the tunic top is going to look fabulous on the right person. Not me, not today!
I love trying new coffee or tea specialty shops. It’s a real treat to bring some new flavors home. I just bought the Oxo pour over unit for making a one cup brew of coffee to enjoy in the afternoon with my newest novel. Me time!

I’d have to pass on today’s mannequins. The colors wouldn’t suit me although I do like the soft peach.

The striped top is too bold for me and I’m not sure about the flare in the crops. I have short legs and feel they would not be flattering.

I do like the tunic dress — but would love to see it in black — I think it would be very pretty and look sharp with black leggings and ankle boots!

Having a bad day and it is only around mid day.
But just seeing your site, Jennifer, cheered me up.
I love the colors of the mannequin outfits but I
agree with alot of others. Despite being 5’10”
the outfit on the right would make me look lumpy
and I am not really overweight. Ok maybe 10 lbs
or so. Don’t like the style of the top or pants but
love the colors. Additional comment- I do not
understand why stores put such wrinkled clothes
on mannequins. When I worked in retail all the
clothes were steamed. Not by me but I admired
the care the people who dressed the mannequins
took. Oh yes, those were the days!

I think I would like the left top with the right pants. Like the bright colors paired with the white pants. That is me.
The peach top I could not pull off. But I like the color. 🙂

My figure is not built for the dress on the right. Pretty color but just not for me. I do like the big boxy looking top on the left with the big sleeves although I prefer solids in a top like that. I can carry it into fall with a long sleeve tee so I’d probably buy it. Wear it with my straight jeans, and booties.

Both would be out of place in my closet and life: color, shape-Not quite a tunic or serape (I have done the with one bought in Mexico years ago however, and finally not for my age group. Wondering about the crafting…what the insides look like.

Really like the colors but I wouldn’t wear the dress because it’s sleeveless, although it’s really pretty. The other outfit would be just too much for me. Even if it came in petite I wouldn’t wear the wide pants or the wide sleeves.

Simply put – no – would not wear any of these pieces. For me all the wrong colors and the stripes are too bold. I was on the fence about the tunic but it is is too see through/revealing. Next!

I love Woods Coffee! I order their bags of whole beans to grind at home. Delicious flavor. Enjoy the Northwest- isn’t the Puget Sound beautiful?

I love the colors! They work well with my skin tone. I just don’t love the style. The top & bottom pair are too baggy for my short, apple body type & the knit dress is too form fitting. No go for me today.

The colors aren’t in my summer palette. The shapes aren’t that great for my silhouette. The top if done in a plain color in cotton or linen is a good idea.

Yes to the top, yes to the pants in a color other than peach and no to the dress/tunic(?) because it would show every single body bump/lump.

I never thought to just click and try to add to my Nordstrom cart…that’s sneaky of them. HA! Gotta’ go see what else I can score on my wishlist. Thanks for the tip! XO

I actually like both outfits and would definitely try them on, just not in those colors. I have more of a clear/bright coloring, and muted peach colors don’t work on me. I have some ‘flare’ kick-crops that I love, so I know I would like the shape of the first outfit. I think the second one looks really elegant – and I like the seam on the leggings. Although I am a size medium on top and bottom, I have heavy legs. It would depend on where the tunic hits me length-wise. Some make my chubby knees too obvious!

I like both outfits. I do have to agree with another comment ,I don’t like the dress paired with the pants I It is to lightweight and clingy to wear with the pants maybe you could get away with leggings . The dress would look good on its own dressed up or down.

    I love them both!

The top on the left has nice visual lines with the stripes forming a Y. It loses me with the part that forms the sleeves, creating an overall blocky look. The pants, on me, could work because I’m short and they would look like full length boot cuts. I would not wear them as crops though.
The dress is pretty, although I’m too lumpy right now to wear it.

That happens with pants on me a lot which o find a positive.

Love the outfit on left! That colorful Vee neck summery top really speaks to me and the cropped pants speak my name! Love everything about this outfit!
I had to sit and think on the dress-like tunic (?) on the right worn over pants. That’s a maybe. I’m not positive on the shade of peach on the tunic – would have to try it on.

I like the knit top/dress on the right. I would absolutely wear it as a dress with a blazer, tights and booties – not pants.

  26. Susan
    July 21, 2021 / 3:46 am

I would try the first outfit if the top were in cooler colors or a dark solid. The pants look like they’d work for me, but not in that color. The second outfit would not suit me. The knit looks too clingy and I don’t like the way it hangs. If it adds pounds to the mannequin, imagine what it could do for me!
