Would You Wear This- Or The Other Color?

Happy Wednesday ladies. Grab another cup of coffee or tea and let’s have some fun with fashion.

I’m certainly having fun trying on mannequin clothes so I may keep this going if you like it.  Things look so different on me than a plastic gal with mile-long legs and arms. I had to take the picture through the front window so it’s a little obscured.

This bright Fushia color stopped me in my tracks. I liked the shape of the dress but knew the brightness of the color would overwhelm me so I was happy to find it also comes in a quiet toasted oak color online.

This dress fits beautifully and the linen is a nice heavyweight of great quality. It has elastic on the sleeves so you could puff them or not. I chose not to because it would make my shoulders look even larger than they are.

So what do you think? How could you style this to work for your shape and lifestyle?

The 30-minute exercise classes mix things up each day so they’re keeping me motivated. I’m not going to lie, this has a learning curve, but my coach is walking me through the whole thing so I feel confident I know what I am doing.

Thanks for reading ladies and remember to wear what makes you feel confident.

I would wear a linen shirt over the dress and tie it at the waist. That would give me a waistline. No cardigan with this. I love how linen feels but the wrinkles are a drag so don’t wear it. I would make an exception for this dress in a different color. Btw, the puffy sleeve thing is kind of awful on everything.

Love the color although it probably would not work on me. The dress is nice but the cut is just a little too much like a housedress or the uniforms worn long ago in school by our cafeteria “lunch ladies”. Maybe a belt would help with this effect? As to wrinkling, linen wrinkles, and that’s fine in the hot summertime. I do iron linen before I leave for the day, but after that I just don’t worry about it.

I know linen is cool for the summer but I hate the way it looks so messy.
Do love the dress ( in both colors) and I would give it a try if in a different fabric.
You looked great in the bright pink. Also liked the idea of wearing it as a topper.

I like linen, I like the raspberry color, and I like dresses in sleeves (but not elastic at the bottom of a short sleeve). Although it looks good on you, I don’t think this dress would look good on my body.

Linen is a great summer fabric for its breathability. However, I need an iron if I take anything linen when traveling. Any suggestions on how not to look so sloppy when traveling?

The color is gorgeous. Linen is perfect for hot and humid weather, so the wrinkles would not stop me from wearing it. I don’t think it would look good on me because the shape is too straight and boxy for my short body.

I love that dress on you! Although I would have it shortened a couple of inches.love me some pink❤️

I agree, love the shape and the color on you. Though I think it would look better a few inches shorter, just below your knee
I can’t wear that color as I have a florid face (rosacea) and it clashes with bright pink.

I’m joining you on Faster Way. Eating enough is a challenge for me, esp getting enough protein. Good so far, but definitely a learning curve!
This pink dress looks great on you. ((I’m *always skeptical* about linen. . .it never looks the same out of the wash, even if I try to “embrace the wrinkles”.)) What is your solution to the wrinkles?

I loved it when I thought it was a top and would have bought it in a heartbeat; but then when I kept scrolling and saw it was a dress, it was a little too much for me! Too much material and too much of that bright pink, although I love pink. I would cut and hem it into a top and wear with some fun shell beads for summer. Would be so pretty as a top!

The color is very flattering on you!
I have to agree with others that this looks too much like a housedress. Wondering if the dresses that you have tried are too sheer to wear outside without a slip? Do you do a sheerness check to see if they are see-through?

I think the style and color could work for me.However I went out wearing linen today and was dismayed at how disheveled I looked when I got home!

I agree linen makes me look sloppy.

I like the dress, but the color is a bit saturated. Yes, it has the look of a dress my mother would have worn, but she wore it because it was comfortable in the desert heat and had useful pockets. I live in the desert heat, and I’m not sure why my wearing such a dress would qualify me as a dowdy old lady.

This has nothing to do with today’s blog post, but rather to share a link. Some time ago, we were discussing how to find a suitable replacement when a favourite lipstick has been discontinued. I remember a former coworker had a signature colour which was discontinued and she would order from a place that would custom make lipstick after she sent in a sample. I just stumbled across the site and if I haven’t shared it already, here it is https://threecustom.com/

Thanks for sharing, Carolynn. The ladies will all love to know about this option, I know I do!

The color is a bit overwhelming and the length a tad to long. The style is a classic and for your coloring summer is the best bet. Love your dressing room snap shots. So clever. 👍

Both the color and dress length are killers for me. The huge pockets would also be a no. I like the V neck and slimming button down front but to make this work for me I would remove the pockets ( too much work!) and change the buttons to a smaller size of a color to match the dress. Then I could wear a great belt or necklace.
Wish I could wear this color. It’s so gorgeous.

wow – glad you modeled it – it definitely looks less bright in the online catalogue. I like it but I dont think the shape would compliment on my hourglass. maybe as a jacket (with a belt) not sure. but then I also have large upper arms. either way the color pops for summer fun.

I’d actually wear this dress as a topper — how cool it would be with linen trousers! Either color would be perfect for summer.
It would work with all the buttons undone, with a tank underneath. Or, just open the buttons from the waist down.

You look great in this shade of pink!

I haven’t worn linen trousers with a similar one (color-striped shirt dress) that I have, but instead have chosen cropped slim cut bottoms in various lengths which work either way plus feel also it would work for those in our age group with long Bermuda shorts , if you wanted to be a little more flirtatious ….☺. -Brenda-

I love the color. I would definitely shorten the dress. I’m not sure about the sleeves. I know I wouldn’t puff them but I might want to remove the elastic and shorten the sleeves.
