  1. To find a post I think is best would be very hard.
Jennifer, you work hard to bring us all inspiration and news of what is good in fashion, spirt and just plain goodness.
Thank you for all you do. You probably donā€™t even know it, but you are a true ā€œflicker of lightā€ to many of us girls.

    1. You’re so nice, Lin. Thank you!

  2. Francesca B says:

I really enjoying looking through those posts this morning thank you. Please can you do a post on crossbody handbags. I am looking for a neutral bag l can wear with many outfits that wonā€™t cost a fortune and l can wear through the seasons. Is it me or have bags gone up in price?
    Thank you Jennifer šŸ™‚

    1. They sure have! What size are you looking for?

  3. I love all your topics, but right now I’m in a quandary about what to do with thinning hair. My dermatologist said that none of the so-called and often expensive remedies work and my choice is a wig or hair transplant. Not what I wanted to hear. I am flooded with ads for various supplements, topical applications, shampoos and conditioners, all promising great results. But I can’t find an independent, honest and impartial look at what works and why. Absent a clinical study, maybe you could ask your readers to comment yea or nay on the products they’ve tried and how well they’ve worked. At least it could provide an opinion that isn’t based on selling a product. In the meantime, please continue the DRDs and Splurge vs. Save features. They are so much fun. Wishing you a warm and wonderful 2023 with friends and family. Looking forward to seeing you in my inbox!

    1. Iā€™m sorry youā€™re struggling with it. I think hair pieces and toppers are a great option for many women. Iā€™m not sure why your Derm comes down so hard on treatment options but many people have success with them. I might try a dermatologist with a more open mind. Have you tried oral minoxidil? Many readers have mentioned how well it works.

  4. Possible topic – lifestyle and aging.
So many people over 60 think about where they want to age. How do you like living in a 55+ community. Pros and cons.
Traveling, I enjoy your posts about places you travel to even if itā€™s a day trip.
Thank you for all you do and share with us.

    1. I do have mixed feelings about living in a 55+ community. I’m not sure others would find them interesting, but I can write about them more.

      1. I would be interested, Jennifer. We are wondering about our next step.
I love your advice columns. Keep them coming.

      2. I miss the diversity of younger age groups in my neighborhood. I often find it disheartening to see so many people with health struggles and know itā€™s in our future sooner than later.

      3. Carol Ahuja says:

Jennifer, I really enjoy all your posts and the variety of topics you address. I would also be interested in learning more about your feelings about living in a 55+ community as I am thinking about that option. You have a beautiful family!

    2. I hope it’s okay to jump in …. i read about this treatment in the NYT — Google it. Here’s what I found online …”The news comes from a recent article from The New York Times, highlighting the use of low-dose oral minoxidil pillsā€”a relatively unknown hair loss treatment by both patients and doctors.” Good luck!

      1. Iā€™ve heard very good things about oral minoxidil too!

  5. I love all your posts. The gift ideas were really helpful and I still think about the post on color contrast level. Your posts are inspiration and motivation. Thank you!

  6. Loved the articles. Pushing 80 here and had not heard of the three words, the point system, contrast using old photos in gray. Thank you.

    1. I find the photos a pretty easy way to see the contrast. I must try it now that my hair has changed.

  7. Those were all great posts. I read every one one of them. You always give us the best advice. I really like your DRD posts and maybe do a who wore it best post. I always like those in magazines but I don’t really know how that would work here. Anyway keep doing what you are doing ā¤ļø

  8. Since following your blog, I feel that Iā€™ve definitely upped my game. Itā€™s important to me to stay current. I appreciate all your information on hair, skin care and makeup products. I find that itā€™s more important than ever to have a quality skin care routine. Any future blogs on these topics would be so beneficial.
Also, youā€™ve definitely helped me define my personal style. If I stay true to the simple elements, itā€™s so easy to dress for any occasion. I am constantly clearing my closet of items that never see the light of day. I also plan to remake my closet with a new organizer unit. Canā€™t wait to start the project.
    New Year, new ideas!

    1. Iā€™m planning a major clean out too! Happy New Year.

  9. Hi Jennifer

I have always said you are a teacher and your most popular posts reflect that. Your readers look to you for sound style advice which you share in a way that everyone can relate to. Keep doing what you are doing and here’s to more successful collaborations in the New Year!

    1. Happy New Year! Youā€™re the best.

  10. This is a great selection of posts Jennifer. I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole the last hour and re-read most of these and added more to my Pinterest boards. It also may re-visit my 3 style words.
Now it’s time to get downstairs and do my upper body workout šŸ™‚

    1. Yeesh – I hate it when I have a typo.

    2. Iā€™m glad you enjoyed them!

  11. Great postsā€¦. 2023 I would love to see more styling pieces in a variety of ways to stretch our wardrobe. Also then and now comments on the facial products you have used. So many products are out there and they are pricey.

    Happy New Year!

  12. The DRD posts, not only see what’s in style, also how to put an outfit together with the “WHY” behind do’s and don’ts, love the reasoning behind your styling tips!

Personal style articles, some which explain what to do if you’re short, tall, and/or a specific shape/size (examples: how to look taller if you’re petite, how to balance broad shoulders, pear or triangle shape…).

Appreciated is information on what’s in style, and NOT, especially for us at that seemingly invisible age, what are strategies to look modern and relevant without trying to be someone we’re not. Recently saw a 4-generation holiday photo where the faces could have been covered and most viewers would have known who was in what age group based on their attire. Example: the eldest had an applique, embellished sweater/sweatshirt with knitwear straight leg slacks and tie up loafers. Don’t get me wrong, guessing most of us don’t want to be the second to youngest one in a short-waisted sweatshirt layered with a cropped down vest, sloppy Ugg ultra-mini booties and intimately designed shapewear displaying pretty much every curve and crevice (actually called “butt-crack booty leggings”), still, there’s got to be someplace in-between :).

Lastly, I really like your personal style and am fortunate to be close to your size and coloring, so lucky me!

    1. I agree wholeheartedly with your observation and my goal is not to be ā€œagedā€ by my clothes. Itā€™s easy to get pigeonholed by brands and I hope to help us avoid it.

  13. Pat Patterson says:

    1. That was a popular one on Google too

  16. I like the ones about personal style and how to wear items. Dressing Room Diaries are also a go-to.

  17. My favorite posts are always Dressing Room Diaries. I love seeing what clothes from stores look like on a real person and I like seeing the way you put outfits together. Have a happy and healthy 2023!
