Dressing Room Diaries: Soft and Fuzzy
So this dressing room diaries was a small dream come true for me. Shopping in a brick and mortar Everlane! I’ve been buying and wearing cashmere from Everlane for so long, some of my labels have their older branding! I am obsessed with the quality of their cashmere and have the sweater count to prove it;)
If you’re new here, DRD is when I go into stores to try on new merchandise so you can see how they look on a woman over 23 who wears a size larger than zero. The lighting is usually dim so the pictures are fuzzy but you’ll get the idea. For reference, I’m 5’4″ and approximately 147 pounds. I have wide shoulders and straight hips, a long torso and arms, and short legs.
This wall of cashmere made my heart go pitter-patter.
This table has their cashmere sweat pants, (are you listening Santa) and their popular day boots.
I zeroed right in on this heathered jade cashmere because it’s one of my favorite colors. I always wear Everlane sweaters in medium but decided to try the large and really like the slouchy feel of it. This sweater is available in 18 yummy colors.
I touched this Teddy sweater on the table and had to try it on. I avoid wool because it irritates my skin but this one didn’t. It’s an ultra-soft bouclĆ© knit of 65% Extra Fine Merino Wool, 35% Polyamide and is one of the softest, non-itchy wool sweaters I’ve ever tried on.
The sweater is available in 6 colors XXS – XL. I’m wearing a large which is too big for me. It’s slightly cropped which is a nice change for my short self. It’s also available in a
They have a large display featuring their Re-Cashmere sweaters which is just as soft as regular cashmere but with half the carbon footprint.
I was anxious to feel the recashmere, and I can report it is as soft as regular cashmere. The fiber content is 60% Recycled cashmere, 40% Non-mulesed, extra-fine merino wool with none of the scratchiness of wool! I’m wearing a medium, which fits just the way I like a slouchy sweater.
Vanessa tried on their relaxed silk shirt that’s available in 13 scrumptious colors. The silk is has a matte finish and is beautifully soft.
These pants are a great 4-way stretch blend of cotton with 6% elastane. That amount of stretch means the knees won’t bag out and they will spring back as you move around. They have side zip which I always appreciate because it doesn’t add any bulk on the tummy. They also have a flattering seam up the back of each leg which is slimming. They come in 6 colors, regular and ankle length. I’m wearing a 10 ankle which is 1 inch shorter than the regular.
Have you tried Everlane cashmere?
Thanks for reading and be sure to wear what makes you feel confident.
I have never been able to afford cashmere.
Is the V neck sweater one of their cashmere sweaters? It looks great on you.
I prefer wearing V necks because I am so short (5ā1ā).
Iām wearing a sweater from Ann Taylor, several years ago.
I really like tunic length sweaters that cover the saddle-bags. Do you have a source for any brand in cashmere? I might be inclined to invest, in dark colors especially.
Nordstrom often carries tunics in Cashmere Here is one in several colors https://shopstyle.it/l/bbp8k Here is another one https://shopstyle.it/l/bbp6y
