Update from the Mendocino Coast
Happy Monday ladies! We’re heading home from the Mendocino coast today. We’ve only been away from home for 4 days but it feels like 2 weeks. A remote coastal community will do that for you. We spent most of yesterday at the beach because it could be awhile before we get back and nothing is quite as relaxing as the sound of crashing waves and the smell of salt air.Ā
I brought a sun umbrella to the beach this time because the only hat I had for this trip gives me a headache after a few hours, plus this provides much more shade!
There were several people fishing from the shore but we only saw one guy actually catch anything so we assumed he was an experiencedĀ fisherman. As he walked past we asked what kind of fish he’d caught and he told us he had no idea what they were but they would make great fishĀ tacos:) So much for assumptions:)
I wore jeans and my new Fiore Top which is part of the new Spring collectionĀ from Artful Home.
If youāve read me for any length of time you know how much I love the fabric this top is made from. It has undulating waves of pleats that camouflageĀ bulgesĀ but don’t add extra bulk to your shape. This top is designed and made in the USA by Carol TurnerĀ who creates easy wear, easy to care for clothing that’s comfortable and sophisticated.
Each day of this trip we had to drive over to the little general store in WestportĀ for coffee. It’s a funky little place but the only game in town so people pay theirĀ exorbitant prices and consider themselves lucky they don’t have to drive 30 minutes toĀ Fort Bragg. We willĀ remember to pack our french press next time because that coffee was strong enough to make your hair stand on end.
This top has a V-neckline that elongates your neck. The 3/4 sleeves are perfect for showcasing bracelets and helps us look taller. It has a classic fit with a shaped silhouette that skims but doesn’t cling to our midsection.
This distinctive top is perfect for travel and very versatile.
The Artful HomeĀ new Spring collection is out and it’s a beauty. I have several things coming that I’m equally excited about and will share when I get them.
Do you like to wear distinctive clothes?
Thanks to Artful Home for providing this fabulous top; I was compensated and all opinions are my own.
Thanks to you, my readers for supporting the brands that allow me to bring you new things.
I really enjoy your posts.
Love your straw handbag. Can you member where you bought it?
Thanks, Gail. The bag is from Trina Turk several years ago.
I love the way the top looks on you and you look so relaxed and happy! But, $180 for a top??! That’s way out of my price range, unfortunately. I’ll just have to admire it in your pictures.
Thanks Dru. I do share all price points on my blog because my readers all have different budgets.
I love this top but simply can’t afford the $180. I wish they had a lower price point, but I sure enjoy seeing them on you!
Thanks Joan. They are quite unique.
Love your hair in the general store! You look really cute!
Thanks Vicki…gotta love good hair days:)
I think Mendocino is magical. I am glad you had a fun getaway. Did you find good restaurants?
We didn’t eat out this time. I do love trying new restaurants but my waistline prefers when I cook:)
You always look so great in those Artful Home outfits. This looks like it can be worn so many ways and always look stylish. Love the way you used accessories to change the look.
Thanks Sandra, I love these tops!
Yes like the pearl and black string necklace. Where did you get it?
A small boutique…I will try to find a similar one. This looks close.
I love the sea and I canāt imagine living away from it. It has a certain peacefulness, not found elsewhere.
We have a Keurig on our boat so a good cup of jo is always available. Although a French Press does allow you to take your own special blend.
The tops from Artful Home always look wonderful on you. They seem to create a waist. Iāll have to look into them the next time Iām in the States.
They do have a shaped silhouette to flatter your shape. Artful Home only sells online and they do ship to Canada. I absolutely love this brand and fabric. They are so flattering and unique.
You are an inspiration Jennifer. I canāt say how much I enjoy your daily posts. Itās so refreshing to see a lovely woman my age, enjoying life and sharing honest to goodness feelings about her body. Love your style. Stay true to yourself and inspring us women.
Thanks so much Cayle! Thanks for being here and reading.
Where did you get the necklace? Darling.
A small boutique on the peninsula. I love how unique it is. Here is one that looks similar.
My husband and I just visited Mendocino and the surrounding area for a few days while on a trip to California – your pictures are a wonderful reminder of this beautiful, peaceful place – loved the boutiques and restaurants too. Good luck with the move!
It is a gorgeous spot!! Thanks Katie. We are anxious for the move to be behind us.
Such a pretty bracelet! You look very happy on the sand. š
The sound of waves makes me very happy:)
Pretty outfit! I learn so much from you, I’m a little shorter, (5’3″), and a little heavier but I’m losing weight and I’ve already decided I don’t want a closet full of clothes. I live in the country so there’s always going to be t-shirts, boots and jeans in the closet. I do travel, next month I’m flying out to Washington DC to meet my daughter and her family for a few days! So, I’m already fretting about what to wear and pack. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you!
Thank you Ramona. Think about packing colored jeans, soft sweaters, some scarves and accessories. You can dress things up or down quite a but with accessories.
