What’s New At Your Favorite Retailers: January 2023

Spring collections are trickling into the stores, and I’m always anxious to see what styles and trends the brands will incorporate. I thought it would be fun to call out some of the new arrivals that I’m loving from your favorite retailers currently.

J. Jill

J. Jill’s new arrivals are perfect for late winter and early spring as they feature a lot of sweaters and lightweight outerwear. I saved a few that stood out to me, but I think the new arrivals may be worth a try-on soon!

• This floral ruana will be great for layering over tees and tanks. It would also be a beautiful swimsuit cover-up if you have any resort trips planned soon.
• I know it’s still cold where a lot of my readers live, so you’ll be needing sweaters for several more months. This beautiful open front sweater coat is the perfect piece to throw on when it’s too warm for a big jacket, but too cool for short sleeves. I’m also loving this hand-embroidered crewneck pull-over.
• White pants are such a versatile wardrobe item. They are great for work and play, and this high-waisted pair has a super flattering silhouette.

Birdies

If you’re looking for a shoe to wear in between boot and sandal season, check out Birdies. I actually wear mine all year long because these shoes are so comfy and roomy (which is exactly what I need for my bunion). I’m calling out a few of my favorites from their recent arrivals, but if I’m honest… it was tough to pick only a few!

• The Phoebe slide has an open back and some adorable tassels! I can’t decide between the quartz lattice and the pacific lattice…what do you think?
• Similarly, I’m equally in love with the Starling in both the Cognac Basketweave and the Moonstone Crushed Velvet. Both options would be a great way to add a little texture into your outfit.
• I haven’t tried a pair of their sneakers yet, but I may need to invest in a pair if they are as comfortable as the rest of the shoes by this brand. This sleek lace-up pair has a shearling lining which is perfect for late winter!

Talbots

Talbot’s is dipping their toe into spring while still offering plenty of cold weather options to tide us over until true spring weather arrives. The new arrivals are a pleasant mix of neutrals and bright colors and patterns. I popped into my store yesterday to try a few things on, which I’ll have for you tomorrow.

• I saw a lot of pistachio green items in the new arrival, like this quilted collarless jacket, this packable jacket, and this collared pullover.
• This tan quilted blazer is the perfect piece of neutral outerwear that can be dressed up or down depending on your outfit and accessories.
• How cute is this wool blend argyle textured cardigan?
• Loungewear sets are still all the rage right now. This beautiful cotton and cashmere top and matching wide leg pants help you look sleek and stylish while still being comfortable.
• I love the tailored look of these white wide-leg trousers.

Loft

I know many of you shop at Loft so I had to include a few favorites from their site. I’m seeing a lot of great basic and classic wardrobe staples, but they also released some fun Valentine’s Day-esque colors and prints.

• Loft always has a great selection of nice jackets and blazers that are wonderful layering pieces, like this open-front tweed sweater jacket and this knit double-breasted blazer.
• Every closet needs a classic button-up shirt. Loft has a ton of choices for button-ups, but I love the pinstripe and added ruffle on this one.

Banana Republic Factory

Banana Republic Factory has great basics currently, and everything is usually on sale. I thought the way they styled some of their new arrivals had an edgy feel!

• I love this collared fleece sweatshirt. It looks great layered over a button-up like it’s styled on the website!
• If you’re looking for a twist on a traditional button-up, check out this western denim button-up or this boyfriend flannel.

J. Crew Factory

I was pleasantly surprised to see so many fun colors and prints throughout J. Crew Factory’s new arrivals. They feel fresh after a long winter of neutrals!

• Add a little touch of color to your winter neutrals with this subtle funfetti chenille sweater or this light pink one!
• I love a white blazer, and this schoolboy sweater-blazer is a classic look that you’ll find yourself reaching for over and over.

J. McLaughlin

J. McLaughlin’s new arrivals will keep you sleek, warm, and stylish throughout the rest of winter. They do have a vacation shop if you’re heading to or live in a warmer destination.

• I think I need this tote bag!
• Check out their amazing selection of chic outerwear like this short sleeve puffer, this reversible wrap, and this furry sweater coat!
• Try out a pair of pants with texture this season like these velvet periwinkle jeans or these faux suede leggings.

Chico’s

Chico’s is another reader favorite that I knew I had to check out for this post.

• If you need tops to layer under all of the great wraps and sweater coats I’ve shared about from other retailers, you will love this classic no-iron tunic. This leopard love print top will be amazing for the weeks leading up to Valentine’s day.
• You will love this slimming and trimming swimsuit for your upcoming beach trips. Go ahead and grab these sandals while you’re at it!
• I didn’t share a lot about the new accessories from these stores, but I knew I couldn’t leave this beautiful necklace out of this post.
