A Furry Try-On at Chico’s
I stopped into Chico’s this week to see their faux fur. The racks were pretty bare with very slim pickings, so I did what I could. I was delighted to find several sections that had petite pants and jeans, so I also took the opportunity to try them on. PS- The spots you see on the outfits are actually on the dressing room mirror :).
This black faux fur jacket has a wavy all-over pattern that slims the fur and highlights the shine. It’s fully lined and would be fun dressed up for a formal event or dressed down over jeans. I paired it with a simple Pima cotton tee in tidal blue. These wide-leg Juliet pants are a rich charcoal color and come in regular or these petites, which have a 27.5-inch inseam.
This long faux fur vest has a short, mink-like pile in a pale English cream color. It’s soft and sleek with a short pile with curvy patterns in the fur. It’s slimmer and more low-profile than the jacket above or the vest below. I’m wearing it over this cream boatneck sweater and dark-wash trouser jeans in 8 petite.
This faux fur snow leopard vest has been calling my name for several weeks, so I’m glad I got in to try it on. The coloring is soft, and the print is fun. On the left, I’m styling it over this no-iron fitted white shirt and pull on slim jeggings. The jeggings are not petite, but the length works well for me with a 27″ inseam. I chose a fitted shirt and slim jeans to offset the vest’s fullness.
On the right, I’m styling it over a simple black turtleneck and Emme wide-leg ponte Trousers. A column of black is one of my favorite ways to appear taller, especially with a longer third layer like this vest.

Love all the faux furs in stores this year. Pulled out a couple from my clothes archives and bought a jacket at H&M .
Can’t wait to wear with jeans as soon as it stops raining in Seattle. Gortex is my go to right now.

You look lovely in the column of black with the snow leopard vest. A column of medium or light grey would also be gorgeous on you. In the comments most felt it was cut too boxy. By sizing down did that help? Vests just don’t look good on me because the girls are DD. It would have to be fitted and with a closure. It sure works for you!
It is pretty boxy. I find most faux fur vests are.
If you are looking for shoes that don’t bend, may I suggest the Cariuma Low Oca sneakers? These have a really stiff sole, a comfortable cushion insole and look a little like Converse and Vans. I am 71 and have a whole collection of these in canvas, leather and suede. They are so comfortable and keep my plantar fasciitis from flaring up (I have had it for over 20 years). Yes, they are youthful but I don’t care. I love the look and the comfort. They have a nice roomy toe box.

I love the column of black with a third piece/ statement garment or scarf. I also own an ivory column that is a fun twist. I’d like to build a grey or silver one. I am having trouble finding gray pants. Have you seen any lately?

I love the cream faux fur vest!! So cute and versatile. You will absolutely love your Birkenstocks. I swear by them for my feet that can get angry with me. I can’t wait to get back into them if I’ve had a day of not being able to wear them.
