Why I Love City Beauty

City Beauty is a brand I love to support because they make terrific products that are Leaping Bunny and PETA-certified cruelty-free. Since they source some of the best clean, research-based ingredients that donā€™t contain parabens, sulfates, phthalates, harsh fillers, or animal-tested ingredients. My favorite part about their company? Theyā€™re based in southern California, and 81% of their workplace is powered by women!

My City Lips Review

If you’re like me, you’ve probably tried dozens of lip products over the years, hoping to find the perfect one that will give you the plump, smooth, and healthy-looking lips you’ve always dreamed of. Well, I’m happy to report that you can call off the search because these are terrific!

Their plumping lip gloss is formulated with moisturizing ingredients like Jojoba Oil and Ylang Ylang Flower Oil, as well as Hyaluronic Acid Microspheres that help plump up your lips for a fuller, smoother look. The Oligopeptides in the formula also help reduce the appearance of lip wrinkles, so your lips look younger and more vibrant.

One of the things I love about City Lips is that it comes in a variety of shades, so you can choose the one that best suits your skin tone and personal style. My new favorites are Watermelon, Tinsel Town, Sun Diego, and Clear. Each one has its own unique look and feel, but they all provide the same amazing shine and moisturizing benefits.Ā

CITY LIPS PLUMPING GLOSS IN SUN DIEGO

I think Sun Diego might be my favorite shade that I’ve tried! It’s a bright, slightly warm-toned pink that has a unique golden sheen and looks great with my skin tone.

CITY LIPS PLUMPING LIP GLOSS IN WATERMELON

Watermelon is a more opaque shade that works on its own in a warm-toned pink that’s perfect for spring. I don’t need another lipstick under this one because it has plenty of color.

CITY LIPS PLUMPING GLOSS IN TINSEL TOWN

If you’re looking for a lighter shade that will work for everyday wear, check out Tinsel Town. This is a cool-toned pink with a silvery shimmer that adds the perfect subtle glow.

CITY LIPS PLUMPING GLOSS IN CLEAR

The clear gloss is a great choice for those days when you just want a little extra hydration and shine without any color. I’ll often line and fill my lips in with a favorite lip pencil, then top it with the clear gloss for some hydration and to keep my lips from drying out.

As a reminder, City BeautyĀ is having a buy-one-get-one on their Plumping Lip Gloss from 3/19 to 3/22. Use my code JENCBOGO and to buy one City Lips Plumping Gloss and get one FREE. You must add 2 City Lips to the cart for the coupon code to apply at checkout, plus get free shipping on orders $70+.

  1. Wondering if City Lips has a gloss that’s not plumping, I Googled City Lips and the only ones I saw all said “plumping”. Some of us don’t want (or need) plumping but I love a good lip gloss. I’ll keep looking around.
Thanks for all the great products and fashion expertise you share with all of us!

  2. going to order same colors you showed! Just had a little dysport in upper lip area, not lips, but they feel weird! Not duck lips, a tiny bit of fullness to my non existent top lip and helped with the little lines.

    1. That sounds interesting! To relax the pucker lines?

  3. All said and done these are lovely lip gloss colors. Then again, many of us would never regularly pay $35 for a lip gloss, especially those of us on senior budgets in inflationary times. There are plenty of other alternatives out there that don’t break the bank.

    1. Youā€™d be shocked what some people pay for lip products. Everyone has a different budget.

      1. No, quite the contrary, I wouldn’t be shocked. I know some women who would spend their last dollar on cosmetics rather than food. LOL.

  4. Jennifer, your hair is such a pretty color and I like the style.
I think that you have shared the link to the lighter blue cardigan and shell before; however, I am not sure. Would you mind sharing it now? It is such a nice color on you. Happy spring!!!

  5. I am a great fan of City Lips. I do not find that the colours bleed and the gloss effect is less sticky than any other product out there that I have tried (thrown out MANY). I would suggest that when you order you also add City Lips Night Oil….it is actually sticky like the gloss rather than slippery oil so it stays parked on my lips while I sleep doing its job of lip repair (from the elements, from talking, from life). I am not a fan of filler (especially the over the top duck lips that look awful)…..and if you have to stop the filler for some reason then you have a shrivelled up ridges OH MY! Night Oil works over time as does the lip gloss but with steady use those lines and ridges from aging do soften and smooth out

    1. The night oil is great, I agree!

      1. Hello Jennifer! I would love to try this lipgloss but have had disappointing experiences with all lip plumpers in the past. They left my lips tight, dry & uncomfortable. Maybe it was the ingredients? Do your lips still feel healthy & moisturized after repeated use? I trust your opinion!
        Thanks in advance!

      2. These are the only ones Iā€™ve tried so I canā€™t compare, but they donā€™t leave my lips feeling dry or tight.

  6. Jennifer, Hi from sunny Yaletown! You look especially pretty in the lavender stripe top set! Wow! Your hair also looks beautiful. Thanks for always having great detail in your description of products. I also now enjoy these City products as a result of your posts.

    1. I heard the weather was gorgeous! We are heading your way soon.

  7. You introduced me to City Lips and I love them. Just ordered some with your code. Thanks!

  8. I’ve heard of City Limits and its great to see so many options. Glad you came home to nice weather.

  9. Michele Soufrine says:

Since you have shared your hair-thinning struggles, I just want to say how great your hair looks in today’s post! You always look so well put together, but today your hair looks especially nice.

    1. Thank you. I put extra stuff in to fluff it up then sprayed the heck out of it. It fell flat soon after the photos. I think I need to get it trimmed shorter.

  10. There are some very pretty colours in that range, but I find with lip gloss (especially ones that plump) it tends to bleed or doesnā€™t really have much impact, unlike on you. Have resorted to getting lip fillers once a year, which adds plumpness but still natural (well, so people tell me). To stop my lips fro getting too dry, I use paw paw ointment

    1. Iā€™ve been afraid to try lip fillers. I know some people have great success with it.

      1. @Jennifer. First time I was very nervous, but this is my third time and it lasts at least 12 months. The filler plumps up my lips, looking fuller, but not a duck like pout. I then have just a smidgin in the vertical lines above my lips. Overall, am very happy with results. The trick is icing the lips afterwards. First time, was slack with the ice and my lips blew up like balloons and could hardly speak. The first time is always a bit anxiety provoking.

      2. Thank you Sue! I have a few friends with ducks lips and that worries me.

  11. I love lipstick! Appreciate your review and the BOGO code. Iā€™ll definitely give this brand a try.

    1. Youā€™ll love these.
