From stylish reading glasses to book-themed ornaments, mugs, and totes, this curated selection of literary-themed gifts will warm the hearts of book lovers everywhere.

If you’re looking for recommendations on a new read for yourself or to gift to a friend, you might find some good ones below:

Gifts for Book Lovers

Book Stack Ornament

Anthropologie always has a fun and whimsical selection of ornaments, and I look forward to seeing what they have to offer every year. I like unique personal ornaments like this book stack because we’ve all got the classic round ornaments, and these feel more personal. Nordstrom has a similar one here. You can even customize this one.

Novel Teas

These Novel teas are just campy enough to appeal to me 🙂 It contains 25 teabags individually tagged with literary quotes from the world over, made with English Breakfast tea.

Floral Bookmarks, 4-Pack

If you’re looking for a thoughtful gift for your fellow book club members, these beautiful bookmarks would be a nice idea. They would also make a great stocking stuffer for a daughter or daughter-in-law or be a wonderful addition to a reading-themed gift basket.

Rifle Paper Co. Book Club Mug

Nothing accompanies a good book better than a hot cup of tea or coffee. Consider gifting the reader in your life a reading-themed mug like this darling one from Rifle Paper Co. that features classic titles like Jane Eyre, The Secret Garden, and Sense and Sensibility. I’d fill it with chocolate kisses before I wrapped it up.

Kate Spade Canvas Tote

Skip the gift bag and pack your book lover’s gift inside this reusable heavy-duty canvas tote bag they can bring to the library or the bookstore to fill with their newest reads. I love that it has an inside pocket for a cell phone and keys.

Kindle Paperwhite

I love holding a book in hand, but my last vacation made me aware that a Kindle Paperwhite would be much easier for traveling. I’m also a huge fan of Audible, so a subscription would be nice for someone so they can listen as they clean, drive, or walk on the treadmill.

Remote Control Page Turner for Tablets

We love functional, useful gifts around here (you can see some more of my recommendations for those here). This remote control page turner can be paired with a Kindle or other device for hands-free reading. What will they think of next?

Book Club Table Topics

With 135 carefully curated question cards, this book club set is perfect for igniting thought-provoking conversations and discussions around books. It’s a game and a tool to foster intellectual exploration, making it an excellent choice for book club enthusiasts and reading aficionados.

The Book Seat

Whether enjoying a novel in bed, on the couch, or while traveling, this Book Seat securely holds books or e-readers in the perfect reading position, eliminating the need to prop them up. I love this idea because it’ll also prevent shoulder strain from holding a hardcover book. It’s lightweight, soft, and seems like a great idea for hands-free reading.

Peepers Blue Light Blocking Reading Glasses

Reading glasses are a practical gift that your friend or loved one can use daily, and you can never have too many pairs. I wear progressives but prefer a strong pair of cheaters when sitting to read for a long time. These square-frame tortoise ones look much cooler than those I picked up from the rounder at my pharmacy. They also have built-in blue light-blocking abilities to help reduce eye strain when using digital devices.

1,000 Books to Read Before You Die: A Life-Changing List

This book provides a treasure trove of reading recommendations, making it an ideal gift for those who are passionate about expanding their literary horizons. Washington Post says it’s “the ultimate literary bucket list,” and Oprah Magazine says, “If there’s a heaven just for readers, this is it.”

Book Club Candle

Pair this scented candle with a gift card to your local bookstore for a perfect pairing for your upcoming holiday gift exchange.

Rechargeable Book Light

I’m a huge fan of this handy little book light and have gifted it to all the readers in my family. The LED lens can be swiveled 90°counter-clockwise and clockwise, and 45°downward. It bends to any angle and is fully rechargeable. It’s a great little stocking stuffer at just $8.99.

Have you got bookworms on your list this year?

    1. What a thoughtful gift!!

  1. Fun ideas for any reader! Another idea for readers (or cooks) is a Page Anchor. They come in different finishes and can even be engraved.

    1. That’s a great idea, Deborah.

  2. Love this post! Such wonderful ideas. In fact, I may have to gift myself as well.
    Thank you so much!

    1. I bought myself something from this list too 🙂

  3. What a thoughtful post! So many great ideas for book reading friends and family. I read solely on my iPad. I have hundreds of books in my Kindle library. I am getting quite a few in my Audible library too! My hands are crippled with severe osteoarthritis. It is painful to hold a book. I have a stand for my tablet on the table and two floor stands. They are expensive but I got each one as gifts from my husband.

    1. Your husband sound like a very thoughtful man! I think I’m going to ask for a Kindle from Santa. They just sound so smart.

  4. Hahahaha! Laziness to the next degree: a remote control to turn pages! Yes, I know it’s KIndle we’re talking about, but even the name “remote control page turner” is hilarious! I know some people still want their physical book, but the Kindle changed my traveling life for the better. I used to lug around too many heavy books: the one I was reading, the one I wanted to read next, and the one I might need just in case I read the other two before the trip was over.

    1. That’s why the Kindle is beginning to appeal to me. Plus it’s hard to find a book written in English in foreign countries, if I finish what I brought and am in need of a new read.

  5. One more useful item for your list is a book sleeve. My daughter requested this previously as a gift to keep her book(s) in good condition as they rattle around in her tote bag with her laptop and heels to and from work. I found sellers on Etsy who produce these quilted fabric sleeves in myriads of patterns and colors to suit individual taste/interests. These would also be handy for those of us who toss books in our knitting bags with those point needles.

    1. What a great idea, Becky!

  6. So many of these items I have never heard of! Really interesting. I love the book ornament and the candles. Those would be nice exchange gifts. I don’t read on my tablet. My favorite thing to do is go to the library.

    1. I love a great library too Rosemary!

  7. I appreciate this awesome post so much! I love to read and have some great friends that love reading also! Great gift ideas ( some for myself)!
