ILIA Product Review for Women Over 50

Iāve tried quite a few of their products, so today, I’m sharing a full review on each of them! I love trying out new products all the time, and sharing the results with you is part of the fun.
What is ILIA?
ILIA Beauty is a popular skincare and makeup brand with a commitment to clean and natural ingredients. The brand was founded in 2011 by Sasha Plavsic, who had returned to her hometown of Vancouver and wanted to create a makeup line that was clean, effective, and eco-friendly.
Their philosophy is rooted in the belief that beauty should be effortless and that makeup should enhance, not conceal one’s natural beauty. All of their products are made with natural and organic ingredients, free from harmful chemicals, and are also cruelty-free. ILIA Limitless Mascara
My ILIA mascara is on constant reorder because my eye doctor insists I need to replace my mascara every 8 weeks. The comblike brush helps it go on beautifully with no clumping. I have tried so many different brands of mascara, but nothing can compete in the long run.
Itās cruelty-free and made with natural dye. I love that itās also free of sulfates, phthalates, parabens, petrochemicals, mineral oil, silicone and talc, formaldehyde, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarban, gluten, artificial preservatives, fragrances, nanoparticles, EDTA and DEA.
ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40
I discovered this Super Serum Skin Tint last summer and love it! In fact, I seem to reach for it more days than my favorite Oxygenetics because it’s lighter and leaves a dewier look. It also comes in 30 colors, so I was able to find one that’s cool-toned and pale enough for me. I prefer to wear foundation or tinted serum, just slightly lighter than my skin tone to brighten things up.
This innovative formula provides light coverage to even out your skin tone while also offering an SPF 40. It’s made from a nourishing blend of skin-loving ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, squalane, and niacinamide, that feels more like a treatment than a tint.
ILIA True Skin Radiating Primer
I’ve been using this Radiating Primer for several weeks and agree that it creates a perfect base for foundation (or their tint). It’s silicone-free and loaded with hydrating ingredients like hibiscus extract, aloe, beta-glucan, and glycerin.
ILIA Liquid Powder Matte Eye Tint in Dove Gray
I also like their Liquid Powder Eye Tint. I read reviews that said it didnāt budge once you put it on, and theyāre right. My eye doctor also loves a liquid eyeshadow, which sets up quickly and won’t migrate into my eyes the way powders do.
I covered the lid with the powdered dove gray, then applied this soft gray liner in Alloy and the Limitless mascara. Then I dabbed a small spot of the lavender right in the center, by my lash line, and tapped until it driedā¦which was just a few seconds. Itās a water-based, crease-resistant, and smudge-resistant formula that doesnāt feel dry or cakey and stays put until I take it off.
ILIA Lip Wrap Hydrating Mask
I often replenish my ILIA Lip Wrap Hydrating Mask, which sits on my bedside table. This mask has papaya enzymes, which help exfoliate my lips as it moisturizes. This is a permanent staple in my lip routine because it has no taste and virtually no smell, and I wake up with soft, hydrated lips.
ILIA Lip Wrap Reviving Balm
I decided to try this lip balm as a more portable alternative to the hydrating mask, which I coat my lips with every night. It’s easy to keep in my pocket when I’m walking or fits into my bag. It also contains hyaluronic acid and prickly pear oil, and the cooling ceramic tip feels nice going on. to soothe dry lips. It can be used as a daily lip balm or a nighttime treatment.
Multi-Stick in At Last
The ILIA Multi-Stick is a versatile and highly pigmented makeup product designed for use on both lips and cheeks. It was the first ILIA product I tried, and I love how smooth it goes on. It glides on smoothly, providing long-lasting color and a healthy, radiant finish. Since you can also use this on your lips, it’s a great way to simplify your makeup routine.
In Frame Brow Gel
I have not tried this clear and lightweight eyebrow gel, but it has positive reviews. It helps shape, tame, and set your brows in place without adding any color and provides a soft, flexible hold that keeps your brows looking both neat and defined.
ILIA Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil
This product has the benefits of a lip oil, the shine of a gloss, and the subtle tint of a lipstick. Infused with a blend of nourishing oils, such as jojoba, sunflower, and avocado oils, it delivers a sheer, buildable color and a glossy finish, leaving your lips looking and feeling lusciously soft and smooth. I struggle to keep lipgloss from wicking up the lines in my mouth, but my daughter loves this stuff.
Bright Start Retinol Alternative Eye Cream
Ilia currently offers a variety of products, such as priming serums, lipsticks, and eye shadows. Its most popular items are the Super Serum Skin Tint, Limitless Lash Mascara, and Multi-Stick. They introduced this Bright Start Retinol Alternative Eye Cream in January, which has rapidly risen to become one of Sephora’s top-selling eye creams and is on my list to try next. I like the Ilia Face Milk moisturizer & I love how the SkinTint makes my skin look. But the smell of the SkinTint has me on the fence about it. I know itās the raw ingredients (no fragrance added) & it eventually disappears but it takes a while & is very off putting. I always think people can smell it. I normally hate fragrance but Iād make an exception here.
I am using the Kiehls Ultra cream in answer to your question. I like the coverage from the foundation but want to take care of my skin. I use the Kiehls in the morning and at night.

I had cataract surgery yesterday (all is well) but I am shocked now to see how many brown spots I have on my hands and face. Do you have any recommendations?
Vitamin C and several other things help to lighten them, but honestly, the best thing is to have your derm write a RX for a cream with hydroquinone. And keep up the sunscreen!
I use Ilia concealer, skin tint, and multi stick. I like the feeling that Iām putting a skin care product, and spf on every day, not just makeup!
My skin is extra sensitive, and Iāve never had a reaction to these products, so a thumbs up from me!
Since you see a doctor regularly for your eye health, I wonder if youāve heard anything about the new Lumify products? There is a ānourishing lash and brow serumā that Iām curious about.
I have not tried those but they did tell me to not use lash growth serum. I do use this RevitaBrow on my brows and it’s great! I’ll check into those, thanks.

What shade are you wearing in the liquid serum/foundation?
Iām wearing Balos. They skin tested me something darker, but as I mentioned, I prefer to brighten my complexion a bit.
Upon your recommendation, I tried the ILIA True Skin Serum Foundation and found it to be very light-weight, smooth and blends seamlessly with my skin without emphasizing my wrinkles. My only disappointment is that it does not include any SPF protection. Other than that, I would definitely recommend it.
I never rely on my foundation for sun protection and always use a SPF 50 first. This Super Skin Tint serum does have an SPF 40 so you may prefer it.

I’ve used the Ilia mascara and lipstick for some time and find myself reaching for them daily over other products. What color of tint foundation do you use? We are similar in coloring. I’ve used Jane Iredale’s tinted foundation for years, but I would like to try Ilia because the SPF is higher.
I use shade ST3 Balos.

I love Ilia! Iāve been using the skin tint for months and get so many compliments. I also love the limitless mascara, brow gel and multi stick. I have found the multi stick works best for me if I swipe a flat full brush across the stick then tap onto my cheekbones, forehead and nose. I plan on trying the lip balm and lip oil next!

I use Ilia liquid 40, same as you. I am also using Kiehls moisturizer. Have you tried it and if so what is your opinion? I am older than you and have always taken care of my skin, however, it is difficult to find someone in a shop to talk to who really knows what’s what. Thanks for all the good info you pass along.

Love Ilia! the Skin Tint is just brilliant and my summer staple. I love the high spf and I got a perfect match with their recommendation. I am fair neutral/fair olive and use shade Bom Bom. It can be hard to find fair neutral (and it didnāt exist for my whole youth). For example It CC cream is either pink or yellow and I couldnāt get a good match. I also love the multi stick. A Fine Romance (berry) is best on me but I use At Last some in the summer. Iāve had them awhile and they havenāt dried out. The concealer is awesome too. As a fellow gray eyeshadow lover I will have to try that next! Thanks for your review!
Iāll have to try their concealer. I need one with some pink in it which is hard to find.
