Look of the Week: Options for Warm Fall Temperatures

Our weekend flew past so quickly, it’s hard to remember what we did. I do know what I wore because we caught some photo’s on our way to run errands. Our weather has cooled off lately so I’ve been transferring more things into storage which means I’m able to see and reach for more cool-weather accessories. This is my favorite time of year. It’s not cold enough to need big coats that cover everything but it’s cool enough to pile on cozy accessories.Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life wearing Lisette L from Purple Poppy

This gossamer fine cashmere wrap comes in every color of the rainbow and is perfect for any time of year. I popped this little fringe cowl over top for a bit of added detail and love the combo.

If cashmere isn’t your thing or in your budget, here’s another great wrap that’s very soft and affordable!

Its soft gray will go with everything I own which means you’ll see me wearing it a lot. Accessories are most useful in stand-out colors or neutrals you’ll pair with many things.

When Purple Poppy offered to send me these Lisette L pants with the cashmere topper, I jumped at the chance. They have no bulky buttons or zippers to add bulk to my tummy and are incredibly comfortable.

These classic slim black pants make the perfect anchor for many looks. They can be dressed up or down and feel comfortable all the time. Being machine washable means they fit into my casual lifestyle perfectly.

Black pants, white shirt, and soft gray accessories work well for days when our temps are not cold but the calendar says Fall!

What are you reaching for these days?

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Thank you to Purple Poppy for partnering on this post. They supplied the pants and wrap, all opinions are my own.

I really like the outfits you choose. It’s nice to see beautiful, tasteful clothes on a real “model”instead of unrealistic tall thin, glum looking people in clothes you wouldn’t be caught dead in. Really like this email sight—such really nice people, too. Love the jackets. I have a few sweaters that are longer that I wear, also.

  2. Julie from Melbourne,Australia says:

Just love the whole look and the way everything is in proportion. The soft colours near your face
are very flattering.Every time I see you in a white shirt I’m reminded to wear them more,as they are a great base.
Thanks once again for inspiration and also for your smile. :))

    1. Thanks for reading Julie! I love white shirts and the polished look they give us:)

  3. I love that little cashmere wrap/scarf. It’s a great transitional piece. You look wonderful!

  4. You look absolutely beautiful!! And….so thin! This is the type of clothing and look I gravitate to. Just beautiful.

    1. Thank you Joanne! My weight is up a few pounds so it must be the proportions.

  5. J L Conradt says:

I’m loving your tote bag! Is it still available somewhere?

      1. J L Conradt says:

        Thanks so much!

  6. This is one of the best outfits Ive seen you wear. The colors and fit are perfect!

  7. I really like the gray, black and white. Nice look!

  8. marlene alves says:

Do love this outfit on you; especially with the soft colors and the scarf is the cats pajamas! (p.s. why that came to me I’ll never know, but you get the compliment, right?)

Jennifer, it would be fun to know in what locality your pics are taken; so many beautiful sites to enjoy along with the fashion..((: )

    1. Thanks Marlene! I use that expression too 🙂 We take pictures in country clubs, parks and on interesting streets all over the Bay Area. My favorite spots have colors and pretty shops.

  9. OKAY COCO…………THE SHOES!!!!!!!!!
I am turning the HEATER ON These cold mornings!
    Grabbing CATHERiNES cashmere wraps………..
    THE FIRE’s are ALMOST FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!
    INTO the garden I GO!

    1. It would be cold in the garden this early! Thank goodness those fires are dying out. It’s been such a tragedy. xo

  10. I love the soft grays! The scarf is the perfect finishing touch. Jennifer, are you all in a safe place? The pictures of the wildfires are mind boggling and horrifying. Prayers for all the people in CA being affected.

    1. Thankfully, we are safe Roxanne. It’s been so horrible for those living nearby and affected by this tragedy. My heart goes out to them.

  11. Lianne MacGregor says:

That’s a gorgeous wrap. How did you ever choose a color – so much choice!! Do you know which shade you picked? It’s a gorgeous neutral. I also love the bag – a what a bargain! Great post. On another note entirely, are you affected by the fires out there?

    1. It was hard to pick a color!! I am wearing the Ash #236, but I love them all. We were so lucky not to be not affected by the fires. The air quality was horrible in our area but nothing compared to those who lived closer. Such a sad business. So much tragedy.

  12. I live in the Chicago area which gets cold early in fall. What shoes look best with ankle length slim fit pants like you are wearing? Love mules and ballet flats but not with socks! I never seem to have the right shoes for an outfit.

    1. I like slim ankle booties when it’s cooler. They either slip just under the bottom of the pant leg or go over. I do wear socks with booties. I also wear peds with my ballet flats which keeps my feet warmer.

  13. So pretty, Jennifer! The entire outfit looks great and I love the way the scarf adds pizzazz.

  14. Deborah Davis says:

Just a lovely outfit Jennifer. I am interested in the beautiful ways you wear your scarves. This one is exceptionally pretty – is this one available? Maybe a future post about how to fold and wear our scarves!! Just purchased my 2nd pair of mules for this season…so comfortable! Thanks you for all the wonderful ideas!

  15. Two things: how do you wrap that one to stay put? And, you look so much younger and thinner when you don’t tuck your tops in! Great outfit!

    1. The wrap is one piece that slips over your head so never slips! Easy peasy:) Now I’m wondering if I will ever tuck another top in, Lynn. xo

  16. L H Carter says:

    Details about the shoes please.
