Petite Outerwear From Lands’ End

Our fall weather ramps up slowly, so lightweight jackets and vests are an important part of my fall wardrobe.

I have a couple of great pieces to share with you today from Lands’ End. I know they’re a favorite brand for many readers, so I was delighted when they reached out to work together.

This post is sponsored by Lands’ End. Thanks for supporting the brands that support AWSL.

No matter where you live, Lands’ End has you covered with outerwear this season from fleece jackets to vests and down coats.

At 5’4″, I’m usually on the cusp of petite garments. Lucky for me, Lands’ End has lots of pieces that fit me perfectly! I’m wearing this fleece sweater coat in the color “Evening Blue Heather”.  I love that the anti-static fleece and anti-pill fabric is machine washable. This makes it easy to care for and a piece that can be worn year after year.

I was drawn to the asymmetrical zipper and wide collar on this coat. I think it offers a modern twist and really changes the look when it’s zipped. Overall, this piece captures the classic, comfortable style that Lands’ End is known for, one of the many reasons why the brand is so well-loved.

More petite outerwear

Next up, I’m styling this insulated vest that serves as a great transitional piece to add to your closet. With a water-resistant shell and fleece lining, it can be worn throughout the fall and winter seasons. I incorporated it into this monochrome outfit of creamy neutrals for a relaxed but chic look. But I can also see this color of the vest paired with a black turtleneck to contrast colors and make it pop even more.

There is a slight shimmer to the fabric that is eye-catching without being over-the-top. It adds just the right touch of glamour to this otherwise casual look. I’m wearing it in Light Stone, but it also comes in other colors like Blackberry and Black.

Now, for those of you who really get to experience the cold, Lands’ End is the place to go to! I decided to try out this Ultralight Quilted Packable Down Coat. This is a great option if you’re looking for a new winter coat that isn’t super bulky but will still keep you warm. I love that it is water-resistant for when it rains or snows and has zippered pockets you can keep chapstick, tissues, etc. in. Plus, I can’t forget the adjustable attached hood!

One major perk of this coat is that it comes with its own bag and folds down to easily fit inside of your luggage. I’ve traveled one too many times and had to lug a heavy coat around. I won’t be doing that anymore thanks to Lands’ End!

The coat comes in Navy, Black, and Alabaster and has a cinch waist that creates a sleek shape. The down insulation does its job of keeping you extremely warm, even when the outer shell is wet.

Lands’ End is known for creating quality, timeless pieces that will last from season to season. Investing in their outerwear, like one of the coats or vest above, will serve your wardrobe well for years to come and never go out of style.

  1. Having moved to the upper MW from So Cal, Lands End is my go to for winter coats! Iā€™m 5ā€™1ā€ and their petite coats always work, tho may require having sleeves shortened, the easiest alteration. I have at least 5 down coats or jackets feom Landsā€™ End (bc I could not resist a short grey with black polka dots and an animal print one šŸ˜‰

  2. Thanks for sharing! I like the insulated raincoat that is pictured with all the jackets. I enjoy your posts! Iā€™m about the same size and 63! They are very helpful!

  3. I love LandsEnd for the opposite reason….they have TALL!….which means the arms and legs are long enough. LandsEnd is one of the few companies that tries very hard to accommodate many body differences…..and they have good classics with a bit of style/flair that last years

    1. I love that Lauren. Iā€™m a huge fan of brands that serve women of all shapes and sizes.

  4. Lands End always has great classic styles with some flair. My favorite all season item is the quilted or fleece vest.
The one featured in this post is perfect on you. What a beautiful flattering outfit. I hope it went home with you.
Iā€™ve lived in very cold climates and know that coats that come to the knee are essential. Nothing is worse than a warm upper body and freezing lower half!
I would love to try on the asymmetrical jacket. I think it would be flattering for my shape.. the wide collar balance for hips.
    All are nice picks.

  5. Always love Lands Ends style. Absolutely love the side zipper jacket and vest you modeled. Will check them both out.
    They looked great on you.

    1. Thanks Lin. I love that vest.

  6. I have a lot of Lands End outerwear in petite sizing. I love that the website gives the item dimensions. I was delighted to discover so many of their things available in Kohls stores now, which somewhat fills the gap of the Sears closure.

    1. Thatā€™s great to know, Mary. Thanks for letting us know.

So glad to see you featuring Landsend. Iā€™ve been a loyal customer since the 80ā€™s. I have on LE pull-up jeans, flannel tunic shirt with silk cami under it, topped with a navy vest right now all from LE. I have over a dozen vest in various colors and pattern purchased over the years. They donā€™t wear out. My winter coat is very similar to the blue one shown, but mine is black and also folds down into a pocket for packing. They are so light weight but so warm. Iā€™m guessing over half mine and my husbandā€™s wardrobe is from LE.
Like others I do miss the shop in the Sears stores. Was so easy for returns. One good thing they are always having sales, sometimes with free shipping. Get on their mailing list. Hope you will do another post for spring and summer.

  8. Thank you for a great post. Iā€™ve shopped Lands End for decades. Vests, jackets, tees, pants, scarves, hats, gloves, tote bags ā€” where would I be without Lands End, lol.

  9. I, too, love LE petite outerwear. I have a red puffer vest, two puffer jackets – black and red – and a black puffer coat. All purchased in the past year. Great quality and the sleeves are a perfect length for my short arms. (I only buy petite sizing for sleeve length. I’m 5′ 5 1/2″.)
Regarding returns: you can receive a store credit which waives the return shipping cost. We have done that a few times because we will buy something next fall! I’ll add that my husband likes the mock turtleneck shirts and the quality is outstanding. The fabric is substantial and they launder beautifully. And, as mentioned above, they have fantastic sales very regularly. My last coat and jacket were 50% off with free shipping.

  10. Iā€™ve shopped Lands End for decades for their great quality basics at good prices. Years ago I could find beautiful wool skirts, blazers, and trousers for work, but their offerings now seem to skew toward more casual wear (fine by me at my stage of life). I have blazers I bought in the 90ā€™s that mirror todayā€™s ā€œboyfriendā€ look. When their collaboration with Sears ended, returns became more costly, which was disappointing. But if you know what sizes work for you LE canā€™t be beat.

    That puffy vest is lovely!
I purchase several items of petite sized clothes each season from Landsā€™ End as they are good value and fit me well.
They used to have a section here in the local Sears store before they closed and I loved buying from the shop. We still use our canvas carry totes that we bought for boating and now use for the cottage. Their website is fabulous and my goodness their cashmere sweaters are lovely! I have one!

    1. I do love cashmere sweaters so Iā€™ll check them out. Thanks Leslie. Have a great weekend!

      1. Their cashmere is every bit as good as Everlane.

  12. Thanks for showing petites! We used to always purchase from Lands End. Need to get back to it. Love all the vests and coats.

  13. So excited to see you show some Lands End. It is a brand I’ve been buying forever, and they are one of the most reliable sources for petite basics at a good price in my opinion. Plus if you get their emails, you get lots of great coupon codes.

    1. Iā€™m needing Petites more often these days so Iā€™ll be sourcing more. Iā€™m not shrinking but it feels like it sometimes.

  14. Hi Jennifer~

Love Landā€™s End! I miss not having it at Sears, ours closed at the mall a few years ago.

Have a great weekend! Thanks always for the inspiration and great posts!

    1. Happy Friday Mary An

  15. I have a purple fleece jacket from Lands End that is at least 10 years old. It’s still in great shape and it’s good for 3 out of 4 seasons. Great products that last a long time.

    1. These are really well made

  16. What a timely post Jennifer! I have had my eye on several of Lands End waterproof coats. They have some pretty good sales. While I have yet to pull the trigger on a coat, I did recently purchase a petite waffle funnel neck top from them in a deep purple (blackberry). It is so nice and very good quality. And I must comment that your skin looks fantastic! Keep doing whatever you’re doing.

    1. Youā€™re sweet. Thanks Janet. I hate to think itā€™s this funny Korean essence I use morning and night, but itā€™s been the only constant in my skin care lately so I think it might be.

      1. Just ordered some! I’ll let you know how it goes.

  17. I love the silver vest and the blue coat! Lands End has such good quality items at great prices.

  18. I have a packable Lands End down coat, bought for travel. Warm and good looking.

  19. Barbara Kline says:

I have a winter parka from Landsā€™ End that is over the top wonderful! Good looking, warm, excellent construction. Timeless style.

    1. Iā€™m crazy about this blue one. Itā€™s been perfect for playing Bocce because I can unzip from the bottom to crouch down. Great coat!

  20. A big thank you for showing Petites!
I have a Land’s End hooded wintr coat that I bought about 5 years ago. Very wam and still in style. Love the 2-way zipper on the one you’re wearing! Does the collar of the vest lie flat or flatter? It’s a pretty shape but I need to be able to wear a scarf with it and to see cars when I turn my head to cross the street.

    1. I havenā€™t tried to lay it flatter but I donā€™t notice it blocking my view.

  21. My closet is filled with Lands End coats and vests. I do love the vest, but I have them in silver, gold, and white already. Plus blue, magenta, red, and green. (Some of these are Talbots, my other favorite.) No need to buy more this year!

    1. It sounds like youā€™ve got vests covered!! šŸ˜€ Theyā€™re so handy

  22. Lands End is my go to place for bathing suits, I do water aerobics and their suits do not self destruct in chlorine pools or salt water ones.

I just wish their returns were easier.

    1. I have heard great things about their suits!
