Chico’s New Arrivals, Summer Clothes & Sales Worth Shopping
I like to pop into Chico’s just to see what’s new, and last week’s visit was worth the stop. With the Fourth of July sales in full swing, I thought I’d share the pieces that caught my eye, along with a few summer finds from Talbots and beyond that are worth a second look while they’re marked down.
Summer Clothes for Women on Sale Right Now
Chico’s
Chico’s Semi-Annual Sale is happening now, and it’s one of the best times to shop. You’ll find up to 70% off markdowns, plus 25% off new styles, making it a great opportunity to refresh your summer wardrobe.
Here are a few other things worth checking out: this pretty dress, this leopard tank, this striped dress, and this tassel tote.

This 100% Cotton Crochet Tank is fully lined, which makes it nice all on its own. I love the pretty edge detail around the neck and armholes. They describe this as a boatneck, but I’d call it a crewneck with nice wide straps that will cover your bra straps. I paired it with these Brigitte So Slimming Crop, which are ankle-length on me. They do come in petite, but I prefer this 26″ inseam on me for its elongating look. They also come in seven other colors.

This Linen Popover Dress is one of the easiest ones and one-and-done ways to dress in warm weather. The dress is 100% linen, and the pockets are made of cotton voile, which is also very cool. The sleeve is a flattering length and loose enough to move with you.

Another open work sweater, this time the Paillette Sequin Mesh Pullover Sweater. This cotton blend sweater is openwork crochet over an attached mesh lining, so it’s very lightweight. It has a splash of tonal sequins on the front, which makes it look a bit festive. I paired it with these Girlfriend Slim Ankle Jeans in smokey taupe. These are in regular length with a 28″ inseam, so I had to fold the bottom under about an inch.

I spotted this Faux Satin Sleeveless Dress on the rack and thought it could be a fun canvas for interesting looks. You could wear it loose and flowy with a stack of bracelets, or belt it for some shaping and add a long necklace. The satin finish means you could also dress it up for a fancier occasion.
I like it dressed down with this lime colored No-Iron Linen Shirt tied at the waist and simple sandals. The shirt provides some waist shaping and arm coverage, while the top portion peeking through the front helps elongate the look. The lime with brown color combo feels fresh and different for summer.

This Button Detail Tank is made from 100% Pima cotton, with a classic scoop neckline and covered buttons at the hip. It comes in five colors and is a great layering piece for the summer. I’m wearing passport blue. The neckline is a perfect backdrop for this Blue Resin Necklace. This is strung on cords, so it’s very lightweight and makes a great statement.
On the left, I’m wearing these white Cotton Gauze Crop Pants in a size 1, which is too loose on me. On the right, I’m wearing them in passport blue in size 0.5, which is a much better size for me. As you can see, the 26.5″ inseam is not cropped on me. On the right, I added this No-Iron Stretch Chevron shirt in soft lime.
Talbots: 50% Off Entire Purchase
Talbots just dropped its new July collection, which has some great pieces. They also have so much of their summer collection on sale, I couldn’t resist going through it. If you’ve had your eye on something, now’s the time to shop. This is the biggest sale they do each year!

I shared this outfit back in June, and I’m happy to see it’s now on sale. The Short Sleeve Jean Jacket is one of Talbots’ summer staples, and paired with the Chatham Slim Ankle Pants and the striped Liberty Tank, it makes an easy outfit.

I was surprised to see this dress still in stock and on sale! I shared it in my June try-on. This one is 100% cotton with a 100% cotton lining (good job, Talbots!) and a fit-and-flare shape that flatters your figure. The V-neckline is modest, and its bra-friendly straps provide plenty of coverage.

Talbots just dropped its new July collection, and it’s full of darker colors that hint at fall. I love the open-stitch texture on this sweater, and the rich walnut color is a nice change from all the white and navy we tend to wear in the summer. Wear it with white jeans now, then pull it back out with denim in a few months.

This Floral A-Line Skirt caught my eye because it’s classic without feeling boring. The black and ivory print gives it plenty of versatility, and I can think of several tops already hanging in my closet that would work with it.

These Talbots Braided Sandals would look so perfect with these Embroidered Wide-Leg Pants and this Linen Tee.

Tommy Bahama: End of Season Sale

I sized up to a medium in this Carmela Coastal Sands Wrap Dress to give me extra coverage in front (I always do that with a true wrap dress). It’s a gorgeous French blue-and-white abstract print that’s very wearable. It’s made from recycled polyester and has UPF 30 sun protection.

My Two Palms Linen Jacket is also on sale in three colors, and I could not love it more!

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy reading your blog everyday! I get so much inspiration from posts like this where I can see different combinations of clothes from brands I shop.
Thanks Susan. I’m so glad it’s helpful.
The first three outfits are my style. Love!
Hi Jennifer. I’m curious if the white Chico’s gauze pants are see through. It doesn’t appear so on you. In my cart but the reviews aren’t great. Thank you.
They didn’t seem that way to me, but I always wear nude underwear.
Jennifer, I hope you bought those white pants and crocheted top. They are fabulous on you!
Thanks Pat
Gosh, that sleeveless white crochet top on you is so pretty.
You are showing so many nice summer pieces. Thank you
I chuckled when I opened your post and saw you wearing Taos sandals. I ordered a red pair right before I read your blog this morning! I’m a big fan of Taos sandals and have several pairs in a variety of styles. They are so comfortable, and I appreciate and need the arch support. I can, and have, walked miles in them.
Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!
They are so comfortable for all the reasons you mention!
Love that striped Talbots dress! Happy 4th Jennifer !!

These outfits look great on you! I love to go into Chicos and look but my store does not carry petites so I have to look online. I do like their jewelry though.
Hi Jennifer, I hope you bought the all white outfit and the turquoise linen dress from Chico’s, as well as the dress and black 2-piece from Tommy Bahama; they looked terrific on you. Have a great Fourth!! 🇺🇸 Jo
