I’ve been shopping for a few pieces to update my summer wardrobe before warm weather arrives, so finding these pieces from Walmart couldn’t have come at a better time. Yes, you read that right! From breezy sundresses to chic summer staples, I was so impressed with the selection of summer wardrobe classics from Walmart! These pieces are as good-looking as they are affordable and perfect for mixing and matching.

TIME AND TRU PAPER BUCKET HAT
Our garden has finally come to life, and I’m spending more and more time outdoors. I can’t keep these roses alive (my husband’s hobby), but I’m a pro at cutting them and bringing them inside. The relaxed fit of this button down camp shirt, combined with the soft fabric, is ultra comfy and cool for a sunny day spent outside. I opted to tie it at the waist, but it would also look great unbuttoned over a camisole. This is the medium wash, but it comes in three additional shades, including white and black.
I know many of you have mixed feelings about the Canadian tuxedo vibe, but I’ve always liked the look. My tip is to vary the denim washes so you don’t look like you’re wearing a suit. I love, love these rolled cuff denim shorts. Not only are they super affordable, but they feel well made and are a comfy cotton/spandex blend that you can sit and bend in easily. These also come in a lighter wash or white.
The white sneaker trend isn’t going anywhere, and my feet are thrilled. A comfy pair of sneakers is my favorite way to top off a casual outfit these days, especially if I’m going to be spending a lot of time walking or standing. I topped off this denim-on-denim look with these scrunch back slip-on sneakers, which I think will be perfect for sliding on and off around the house.

I have a feeling this simple but sophisticated outfit is going to become a go-to for me this season. These Bermuda shorts look so much more expensive than they are, with a tailored style and the perfect amount of stretch. They are available in sizes 0-18. They also come in a fun kiwi green or a crisp white.

I topped the shorts with this black tank to create a slimming column of black. This kind of outfit is so easy to dress up or down simply by changing your shoes. I went with a buckle sandal with a block heel, but you could easily go with a regular sandal, mule, or sneaker. I almost always add a transitional layer to my outfits, so I thought this white jean jacket added the perfect amount of contrast.

I wear jean jackets all year long, and my collection keeps growing. This jean jacket has a cropped silhouette, making it the perfect length to wear over wide-leg pants or a dress, like this sleeveless swing dress.

This striped tank dress is under $10, comes in XS-XXXL, and is available in tons of great colors. I wanted to put together an example of a casual dress outfit that would be perfect for lunch or a day of shopping, so I paired the dress with the slip-on sneakers and topped it with the jean jacket. This is what I mean when I say these pieces are perfect for mixing and matching!
This is a great example of how a simple change in accessories can elevate an outfit in a matter of seconds! I swapped out the cropped denim jacket for this relaxed scuba knit blazer. The open front design and 3/4 scrunch sleeves make this a great option to wear over everything from tank tops and tees to sundresses.
I also grabbed this pair of open toe square block heel sandals. They have fabric uppers that are stretchy, soft, and comfy against my bunion. I have been opting for block heels lately because they feel sturdy and safe when I’m walking on uneven terrain like grass or cobblestone paths.

Question — the column of black with shorts and tank topped with that cute jean jacket and the cognac sandals (classy outfit) — would that be considered a high contrast outfit? Looks great on you. So can you comment on how to wear a high contrast outfit when one is a low contrast person??
Wearing the high contrast further from your face can make it easier to wear. Or add a softer color near your face also helps. The impact is on how your face looks, not hands or arms.

The swing T- shirt dress with the white denim jacket and casual sneakers is so versatile and a perfect and affordable option for retirees with a casual lifestyle. At Walmart you can purchase a more trendy style without a high cost factor. Especially true when it comes to dresses. I want to mention the Sophia Vergara line. I purchased a beautiful, well- made midi dress that I may wear to a summer wedding for only $15.00! I’ve also seen the Chaps brand which used to be featured at Kohl’s but no longer. Very nice shirt dresses and no iron-iron shirts.
