The Best Shoes to Buy from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Comfortable footwear is mandatory for me, and I take every opportunity to buy the best I can while it’s on sale. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale often has some great options for me, so that’s the first department I check when the sale starts. We chat a lot about comfortable shoes here on AWSL, so visit these posts if you are looking for more shoe recommendations:

The Best Shoes to Buy from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

I included a few sandals and sneakers on the list that you can wear now, as well as some great flats, loafers, and boots that look great this fall and winter. Please note that popular sizes are selling out fast as the NSale is already open to cardholders. If you are not a cardholder, public access opens on July 17th. Without further adieu, let’s dive into the best shoes to buy from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

Sandals

Birkenstock Arizona Big Buckle Slide

I’ve now got three pairs of the waterproof Birks, so I decided, yes, they’re comfy, and it’s time to invest in a pair for the long haul. I’ve never liked the way the suede liner of regular Birkenstock sandals shows the marks from your toes, so this style appeals to me because the liner is leather. They also have them in a single buckle style here.

Munro Nicolette Sandal

With this sleek design and premium materials, including soft leather and cushioned insoles, these Nicolette sandals from Munro provide a combination of fashion and support. These are an attractive and reliable warm-weather shoe option whether you’re strolling around town or going on a dinner date. I love Munro because they offer lots of widths.

Vionic Mattie Flip-Flop

It seems that every single time that I do a comfortable shoe round-up, a pair from Vionic makes the list. This Mattie flip-flop would be perfect to order and wear now with all of your casual summer outfits.

Gentle Souls by Kenneth Cole Laniey Sandal

I really like the unique look of the wide crisscross straps on this pair of sandals from Kenneth Cole’s Gentle Souls brand. They’re currently under $100 during the sale, and they’re also available in black and tan.

Flats and Loafers

The loafer display is huge in my store, which means we have lots of options this fall.

Ilse Jacobsen Tulip Slip-On Sneaker

If you’ve been around AWSL for any length of time, you’ve probably seen an outfit featuring my Ilse Jacobsen Tulip shoes. This super-comfortable slip-on sneaker has a suede upper thatā€™s whipstitched to a flexible rubber sole. They stretch and mold to your feet and are cool in hot weather. I machine wash mine, and they come out looking brand new. Simply remove the insole and toss in the machine with jeans, etc., with cool water and let air dry. I love the geometric pattern on this pair!

Cole Haan Geneva Chain Loafer

I like the bulk that loafers add to the bottom of my silhouette when wearing chunky sweaters or wider-leg jeans. These Geneva Chain Loafers from Cole Haan have a comfortable fit, and the chunky chain is perfect for adding a fun touch to any outfit, whether for work or social events.

Naturalizer Mira Flat

Pain-free, happy feet are at the top of the priority list around here, so I like that these are constructed with Contour+ Comfort technology and a cushioned insole.

Gentle Souls by Kenneth Cole Soraya Loafer

Hereā€™s another shoe that wonā€™t have you crying by the end of the day! The Soraya Loafer by Kenneth Cole has a cushioned footbed with arch support and soft, breathable leather. You can also grab them in a camel color (called “Brandy”) and a tan (called “Sand”).

Boots

Western boots have a larger-than-normal display at my store this year, so I expect they’ll be on trend this fall. I haven’t tried any on, but I plan to.

Vionic Estilo Lug Bootie

Pull-on boots can be difficult to get on and off, especially if you suffer from back or flexibility issues, so I really like that these boots have a convenient zipper. Lug sole boots were all the rage last year, and it appears that this trend will be staying around this fall and winter.

Mephisto Rezia Bootie

Mephisto shoes are all about comfort. Their relaxed and flexible Rezia bootie features an Air-Jet insole and a shock-absorbing outsole with SOFT-AIR technology which provides generous cushioning and all-day comfort.

La Canadienne Sofia Buckle Strap Waterproof Boot

Knee high boots look great with so many outfits! I love pairing them with dresses, skinny jeans, or a tunic-length top and leggings. One reason why I chose these is that they are waterproof, so they will keep your feet dry during wet and slushy winter conditions.

Sneakers

Asics Gel Running Shoe

I also bought these Asic sneakers because they are sooo cushiony. Yes, they’re labeled for running, and I only run to avoid a speeding train, but they’ll be great for walking, and anytime my feet need extra cushioning. They come in a couple of colors.

Ecco Street Lite Sneaker

I own several pairs of Ecco sneakers, and I love them. They’re the kind of shoes you can reach for if you’re going to spend a long day on your feet and know you’ll feel comfortable and look chic.

Allbirds Tree Dasher 2 Running Sneaker

I love my AllBirds, which flex easily and offer tons of cushioning. They are breathable and super stretchy. They have a cushioned midsole for all-day comfort and support, plus theyā€™re machine washable.

  1. I can attest to the comfort of Asic runners. Iā€™m on my fourth pair. Both my daughters ( in their forties) wear them too. They are cushy and the wider toe box adds stability and doesnā€™t squish your toes while walking. I buy mine at Sport Chek.
I also love La Canadienne boots. They are very stylish while keeping your feet warm and dry. Brownā€™s Shoes carries them for those in Canada or you can order from Amazon Canada.
I hope you donā€™t mind me putting other retailers out there but as you know we no longer have Nordstrom in Canada, nor can we order from them.

    1. Thank you for sharing other retailers! These are such comfy shoes I want everyone to have access to them. I’m hoping Nordstrom will return to allowing their products to be shipped to Canada!!

  2. Thanks, Jennifer! I ordered the Munro sandals. Theyā€™re minimalist, like me. Iā€™m excited to try them and at nearly half price, I feel like I got a great deal šŸ˜‰

    1. I love Munro! They’re so comfy.

  3. Love the simplicity of the Munro sandal but my feet hate synthetic linings!šŸ˜«

  4. Love Birks, boots and those western style yes! Really like the lug style think Iā€™ll have to check them out.

  5. Such a great variety of shoes. Can’t wait to look. I’m so glad to see New Balance. I wear them walking every day and they really offer support.
