Weekend Reading: 04.25.26
This has been a light week on the blog because… life.

After a CT and MRI of my left foot, “we” have decided which surgery is best for me. I’m glad I kept pushing for alternate opinions because surgery is never something to take lightly. I’ve been able to put it off until the fall, which I’m thrilled about because I’ll get to enjoy my whole summer.
Reader favorites this week – what you loved:
- This cotton-blend knit blazer was a huge bestseller this week. It’s a great alternative to a cardigan but with a bit of soft structure.
- This embellished linen dress was very, very popular this week. Mine is on its way, and I have my entire outfit planned, right down to the accessories!
- These lightweight wide-leg jeans were also a bestseller this week. They seem like a great option as the weather warms up.
- My Talbots Barely Boot jeans were near the top of the bestsellers this week, and they’re on sale!
- This little short-sleeve merino sweater flew out the door this week. I have navy and ivory, but it comes in eight other colors.
- This cute little checked organic cotton jacket was also a bestseller. This would be fun over so many things this spring and summer.

Have a great weekend, and do something nice for yourself.

Dear Jennifer,
There is something about this outfit that emits confidence, taste, modernity, ease etc.. Though the outfit is simple, I found the entire package my favorite look on you. Maybe because you are wearing the clothes you own, they are not wearing you which sometimes is the case. IMHO you nailed it!
Didn’t know Reese Witherspoon had a sister! Fabulous photo. Hair looks amazing. Good luck with foot surgery in the Fall. I don’t envy you.
Your shorter hair style really suits you! Is it hard to maintain?
I love your Margauxny shoes. I know you have wonky feet, so do I, especially I need a padded footbed with arch support. Would these shoes work for me?
These don’t have arch support so you’d have to use an insert. I can’t wear them for long days on my feet but they are comfy because they stretch. I’m finding this style very easy to maintain but I will need to stay on top of my trims.
Your hair looks fabulous. Hope you’re pleased with it. I own so much denim and Lantern cut is not one of them. Looks good on you. I just ordered another pair of jeans from Quince, a gray wash. I’m liking their Luna Stretch Slim Straight. With that said, I’m officially grounding myself from purchasing any more jeans. 🙂
Lol
Jennifer, you look absolutely wonderful! Love the outfit and your hair is great. It’s inspired me!
Would you share what size you’re wearing in jeans?
Thanks for all the sale info.
Thanks Linda. I’m wearing a petite small. I think they run a bit large.
I’m glad you got more than one opinion on your foot surgery. It sounds like a knitting project is coming in the fall for you and a pile of books. I had a wonderful PT after my total knee surgery and now I have flexibility without pain and can walk a mile a day with our dog. I’m 81 and have RA so I have other issues but my baby knee isn’t one of them. Jennifer, you look great and have a terrific time when you travel to Singapore. My mother traveled all over Asia and Polynesia in her 80s and loved it. She also did ballroom dancing! She was a wild woman. I’m not as adventurous as she was.
It funny you say that Sydney. My mother was very adventurous too. Much more that I am.
Jennifer, your new hair cut is stunning on you. It really is perfection.
Thank you so much!
Your hair looks amazing!!!! Love the outfit👍🏻
Thank you!
I loved lots of the sale items you shared with us. I will be spending time this evening shopping.
Happy weekend
Love this look! I would wear it too…great EF denim jeans and cashmere is so cozy for our PNW ocean breezes.
Good news about your foot surgery…fall will be a good time to recover. Perhaps a knitting project will help pass the time?
Hope you have some fun things planned.
Enjoy your weekend.
Brilliant idea Leslie! I love the excitement of a new project.
Hi Jennifer,
I like your hair style and the outfit you are wearing today.
Thanks Vicki.
Great look. Love your hair cut, makes you look modern and younger
Oh wow, thanks so much. I’m enjoying it.
What a great photo of you! Love the sunglasses, your outfit, and your hair looks amazing!
Thanks Donna
Love your hair and the navy outfit makes you look incredibly slim!
Lantern jeans will tend to do that! Thanks so much.
Good morning Jennifer. You are correct surgery is not something to take lightly. I’m in bed having had a knee replacement 6 days ago! I was happy to get the surgery now so I’m hopefully well by the fall for a trip we are planning.
I really like you in the lantern jeans. The shape really suits you. I als have to thank you for introducing me to Tommy Bahama. I always dismissed the brand as men’s Hawaiian shirts! I was wrong.
Wishing you a speedy recovery! That’s a big surgery. I assumed TB was just vacation clothes but they’re perfect for a sporty, casual lifestyle.
I just had an MRI on my foot; dr says surgery to correct the arch and second one, ankle replacement. I am heading to an orthopedic foot specialist , not a podiatrist. In the meantime, I will wear orthotics, Brooks, Ecco, Vionics. He gave me a steroid shot that took out the swelling and it helped immensely. Not ready for non-weight bearing for 6 months or more.
Oh no Myra. I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve decided to have an orthopedic surgeon repair my foot too. My podiatrist is lovely, knowledgeable and helpful, but not for surgery. My steroid shot is holding so that’s why I’m able to wait until the fall.
